woot there it is

  • What's up homies? It's almost my bday.. yay I'm old. Like all early Monday morning posts, I'll start this out with "I had an awesome weekend." I did.. really. I mean it wasn't monumentally mindblowing, but it was fun. Friday morning I got my car washed/detailed at Hutch's and went to breakfast with Michelle at Mimi's. I had some yummy breakfast burritos. Then we went to Bally and got Michelle all signed up, and renewed my membership. I was a little too exhausted (having been up about 20 hours and all) to work out at that point, so I went home and slept. I got up around 5:30pm that afternoon, with Cathy and Stuart screaming "Happy Birthday!!" in my face and nearly causing a coronary. I then had one of those situations where a small get together turns into a full fledged party. We ordered pizza, Amy came with her pal David (not Magical David, it was Heart Transplant David), Alisha showed up, then Fernando and Grace came with Joey. Joey is 15 months old and loves chasing cats and helping people unwrap presents. Around 9ish TJ went to bed because he's 28 going on 75. Fernando and Grace left around 10:30, then Jeff showed up. Everyone else seemed to leave around 11pm. The party wasn't over though. Davina got off work around 12:30am, and she and Lorie came around 1. We partied until 3am, and I got 3 hours of sleep. I got great gifts from everyone, including A LOT of lip balm from Cathy and Amy. Hmm I wonder why. Got some cash, AMEX gift card, Best Buy gift card, Jamba Juice gift card, some Doritos (haha), a porcelain Kermit the Frog figurine, Bert and Ernie action figures, Mad Libs, bubbles, and a stuffed Gizmo doll (from Gremlins). So yeah I made out like a bandit.
  • Saturday morning I woke up and had a slight hangover. I partied a lot the night before, as you can read above. Good thing I've been taking a Vitamin B supplement, that helped speed up my metabolism and get the poison out of my system. You guys know I don't party that often anyway, really. I worked at KDFC as usual and had fun like I always do. When I got back to San Leandro I hit the gym and worked it, y'all. I was jogging again, and it felt great. Then I went home and did major housecleaning, took a nap and Davina and I went to Claimjumper for supper. Man I love that place. Had some garlic bread, whiskey chicken dinner and we shared a brownie finale for dessert. I tried to pay but she wouldn't let me, so I decided to give the cute waiter a good tip. After going home for a potty break, we went to Target. I got all three Beverly Hills Cop movies on DVD. Davina almost got a bike but decided not to at the last minute. We ended up going back to my house and watching Beverly Hills Cop III. Excellent choice. She left and I started watching Gremlins but got tired about 20 min into it and called it a night.
  • Sunday morning I woke up and took a shower, picked up Michelle and went to church. It was a good sermon, mostly telling dudes to step up and take care of their families, a good Father's Day theme. Too bad most guys out there don't have this mentality anymore. After church Michelle and I hit the gym and worked it again. Cathy showed up and I wished I had my camera on me. All three sisters on treadmills pumping up the jam, it was awesome. If only Mom could have seen us. When I was done sweating my booty off we picked up Dad and went to Best Buy. He bought me seasons 1 and 2 of Scrubs, and I used a giftcard to get a few 80s CDs, along with The Offspring and P.O.D. For Father's Day I gave him a copy of The Sands Of Iwo Jima starring John Wayne, one of his favorites. Then we had a late lunch at In-And-Out Burger. So healthy, I know. Haha. Afterwards I went home and took a LONG nap, came to work and the rest is history.
  • I apologize to anyone who didn't come to my "party" on Friday night. I didn't intend for it to be a real party, but my sister invited people, I invited a person or two.. food came, booze poured, and yeah.. it happened. My schedule is pretty insane for the next week or two, but we should all hang out sometime. I'm addressing folks I haven't talked to in forever, you know who you are.
