- Howdy folks. I'm back. I had a pretty fun weekend. Friday evening I hung out with Sandi in Stockton. It took twice as long to get there due to traffic, but it was worth it. We had dinner at BJ's, then watched Bedtime Stories starring Adam Sandler. I thought it was funny and cute. Not hilarious, but then again it's a Disney movie. Oh yeah, we finally exchanged Christmas gifts, she gave me a cool t-shirt with a Bible scripture on it. I'll wear it later on this week.
- Saturday morning I worked in San Fran, then drove on over to Lodi. I met Kimmie, Joyce, Cathy and TJ for a late lunch at Moo Moo's, then the four of us went for ice cream at Coldstone while TJ napped in the car. After dessert we had time to kill so we checked out a used bookstore across the street. This place was really neat. First of all they had a cute calico kitty roaming the place. He let me pet him and take pictures, so cute. Also, they had a used VHS section which totally rocked. I bought The Dream Team starring Michael Keaton/Christopher Lloyd, The Crazysitter starring Ed Begley Jr/Beverly D'Angelo, and The Principal starring Jim Belushi/Rae Dawn Chong. AND..... I found a cassette single of "On Our Own" by Bobby Brown from the Ghostbusters II soundtrack. I could not pass that one up. Bobby's fade is so jammin. Next time I'm downtown in Lodi with Kimmie I'm going to have to go back. That place is awesome. So we finally got back to Kimmie's place, and had some cake that she bought for Cathy, as a late birthday celebration. It was german chocolate and very delicious. Soon afterwards Cathy and TJ left, and we watched When You Remember Me starring Fred Savage and Kevin Spacey. Very inspirational story, kinda sad at the end. Next up on the movie roster was Miracle on Interstate 880, which I bought online last month. Basically it was about the Cypress Freeway collapse after the 89 quake and two stories of survivors. Buck Helm, the guy who came out alive after 3 days, but died a month or two later, and that other little boy Julio (forgot his last name) who had to have his left leg amputated in order to be pulled from the wreckage. Sandi Duncan was in it, so was Eric McCormack pretending to be latino. Oh yeah, my St. Elsewhere TV boyfriend David Morse was in it too. Whoo. After that made for TV drama, Kimmie put on Gaby: A True Story. It was about a young lady who had severe cerebral palsy and could only move her left foot, and was the first disabled person to attend regular public school back in the 1960's in Mexico. Very moving story, even had some disabled people sex scene in there. Racy. We stopped the movie about halfway through because I was falling asleep, and finished it on Sunday afternoon.
- Sunday we both slept in for quite a while. I woke up before Kimmie and finished my book about the Duggars, that family with 18 kids that has a show on TLC. Kimmie was awake soon enough, and we finished our Gaby movie. Then I went out and got Subway for lunch along with Starbucks coffee. Then I put on an episode of 1st and 10, this HBO comedy that was on in the 80s/early 9os with Delta Burke. It was so boring we only sat through that one episode. Next we tried to watch What's Love Got To Do With It, but Kimmie's DVD player was being a piece of crap. We opted on The Good Son with Macaulay Culkin/Elijah Wood. That movie is creepy, and I'm glad Mac gets it at the end. Good riddence creepy child. I chose to put on The Dream Team as the last movie choice. It was funny, but not hilarious. Mental patients lost in New York City, hilarity ensues. The previews at the end for Fletch Lives and K-9 were cheesy and seemed even funnier. We had about 30 minutes to kill before I had to leave, so we played Super Mario 3 in Kimmie's bedroom. I suck at video games, I suck it hard. It was fun though. Oh I can't forget, Kimmie made dinner from scratch. Roasted chicken with celery, carrots, onions and mushrooms. Along with a baked potato. So tasty. Plus she gave me a new Ghostbusters shirt that I didn't have as a late Christmas present, which I totally didn't expect.
- So yay this weekend was fun. This upcoming week will be busy. Working 55 hours, dreaded dentist appointment on Tuesday morning (means I'll get about 4 hrs of sleep.. ugh), and Dad has a doctor appointment on Friday. Fun times. Okay, off to finish my leftover chicken.
