Fun times

  • What's up homies? I had a fun weekend. Friday evening I watched my dad for a bit, then took him back home. Cathy and I had plans to go out with some other pals, but we kind of had a sad sidetrack. One of our friends Lisa (Jellybean)'s grandpa was in the hospital in Redwood City not doing so great. We went there instead to be with her family and be of some support. We later learned that he passed away early on Saturday morning. I didn't know how well, but I wish the best for their family.
  • My Saturday was off da hook. In an awesome way. Sandi and I went to Great America to see Spring Celebration, an afternoon/evening of great Christian rock music. We spent 3 or so hours riding rollercoasters and water rides first. I haven't had that much fun in a while. We finally got inside the amphitheater and managed to get first row seats again (we had them last year). All the bands were fantastic. Fireflight sounded a bit off key though. Lincoln Brewster was amazing, his guitar work was out of this world. Mercy Me was out of this world, as always. Switchfoot was great, although the screaming teens who pushed/shoved us out of the way were not. This was the second year in a row that Switchfoot has been a headliner and teens have gone absolutely insane. It was as if the Jonas Brothers were playing or something. I don't know what obsesses kids to act this way in public, but it was totally rude. Sandi was so upset she was in tears. I don't blame her. With the exception of the rudeass children, we had a great time. After we left we stopped at La Pinata in San Leandro for a late dinner. I'm eating leftovers as we speak. Yummy!
  • Sunday morning I was able to sleep in, but woke up early at 9am. I did housework, showered, made whole wheat pancakes for breakfast and then went on a nice 45 min walk. After watching movies in my room for a few hours, I picked up Michelle and my dad and we headed out to Sebastopol. With a stop at Starbucks first of course. We went to the cemetary, got more Starbucks, went to A&W for dinner, then finally back home. Later on I uploaded pics to my computer and tried to take a nap in my room. I ended up watching more movies, then eventually got ready for work. Fun times.
  • I'm a tad nervous because Dad's procedure is this Thursday. I know it's going to be simple, not very invasive, and he'll only be in the hospital 3-4 days max. Still, I worry. I keep telling myself that Stanford is one of the best hospitals in the country so they probably won't screw up. Oh well, I'm sure things will go just fine. Just keep nice thoughts going his way.. mmmkay?
