- What's up, yo? I'm back from my weekend, as you can see. I had loads of fun. Friday didn't have that great of a start. I got off from work and went to my parents' house to drop off my car and borrow their van, since I was picking up Kimmie in Lodi later that day. Well first I had to gas it up, then it took FOREVER to get home since it was around 8am and I have to pass an elementary and a high school to get home. When I arrived, I realized I left my house key with the rest of my keys at my parents' house. So it took way too long to get back there, then I drove all the way back, and finally got in bed. I got about 5 hours of sleep, then headed on over to get Kimmie. Her sister Carol was there and helped me get her into the van using the lift. It was a piece of cake. After stops at Starbucks and Taco Bell, we were off to the Bay Area. We got back a little after 6pm, and I decided to show her my old house in Oakland, along with my elementary school and where I work. Only problem was driving down Fruitvale Avenue at 6:30pm on Halloween, it was crazy. Traffic sucked. Eventually we did get back to my house around 7pm. TJ and his friend Joe helped get Kimmie out of the van, up the 2 steps and into the house. My Halloween party itself was pretty fun. Our attendees were Amy, Alisha, Jeff, Joe, Davina, Kimmie, myself, Cathy, TJ, Michael Ray, another Cathy, Brad, Victoria, Grace and Fernando. Pretty good turn out. We watched The Worst Witch, the cheesetastic 80s movie with Mrs Garrett from The Facts Of Life and Tim Curry. It was awesome. We also watched the Amityville Horror remake, and then Beetlejuice. Fernando kept making drinks for himself and I, and we also did random dancing. I'm glad everyone had a good time.
- Saturday I worked in "the city". I was a little late since I made myself confused looking for my backpack. See for some reason I knew it wasn't in the van, but I didn't think to look over by my desk, I convinced myself it was in my car parked in front of my parents' house. So I drove all the way to the other side of San Leandro, searched for like 10 minutes in both vehicles, then all the way back home to discover my backpack was there the whole time. Then I finally drove to Bayfair BART. This wasn't a great start to my day. I eventually made it to work, and stayed busy the whole time. I did the usual stuff, including extra tasks my boss assigned to me. I also caught a mistake someone made, had to call my boss and then his boss just to get permission to fix it. Don't you hate it when you see a problem, you know how to correct it but you have to go through a chain of command first? This is why I enjoy working by myself most of the time. So I got home in the early afternoon and helped get Kimmie ready to go home. TJ had to do some mechanical work on her wheelchair but eventually we got out the door a while later. After stops at OSH and Starbucks, we all drove out to Lodi. It was raining, but not too awful. Cathy decided to drive home, and I was tired anyway. The ride for her sucked because it started raining pretty darn hard and visibility sucked. Plus the windshield wipers on that van aren't that good anyway. Eventually we got back to the Bay Area. They stopped for Hawaiian food on the way, then I dropped them off at the house, and finally went to my parents' house and gave them back the van. Michelle wanted to go out to dinner so we ate at Marie Callender. I love their cornbread. Okay the next part of this is dealing with girly issues so boys stop reading here.. ** I had a feeling my period would be coming, so I was wearing a pad. Well um it started on the way to the restaurant so I changed my pad there. Apparently, the dam broke so to speak while we were eating, then I coughed and WHAMMO. Maybe guys have no idea what I mean but sometimes we just overflow. And I did, a lot. When we got up to leave I may have left a spot there in the booth, I'm pretty sure I did. Well soon as I got up I powerwalked all the way to the car and let Michelle pay. When I got home to change, it was bad. It was going down my legs into my socks, okay? The bathroom looked like a scene out of a bad 80s slasher film, I'm not joking. I got cleaned up and felt pretty woozy from the blood loss so Cathy was nice enough to drive Michelle home for me. Then I changed into my jammie pants and overflowed them 20 minutes later (while wearing 2 overnight pads). God I hate my period. I seem to be okay now, I just feel like I'm 500 lbs.* Later on when I was feeling better I watched Ping! in my room and fell asleep.
- Sunday I finally caught up on sleep/rest. I woke up around 6:30am to upload pictures and eat breakfast, then went back to bed until 1pm. Michelle called and wanted me to take her and Dad to Newpark Mall so he could get a heads up on Xmas shopping. I was originally going to sleep all day but I obliged. So the mall wasn't too bad. I had some Subway for lunch (half a $5 chicken breast footlong with some strawberry yogurt), got a few things at Bath and Body Works and Hot Topic. Traffic on the way back was HORRIBLE. 880 North was jammed pretty bad, I ended up getting off the freeway in Union City and taking the streets back. Then of course they wanted Starbucks so we went through the drive-thru, then on home. After I dropped them off I got gas then sped back to my house so I could eat some dinner and chill out. I had the other half of my footlong and steamed asparagus. Yum.
- I am not getting much sleep the next few days. Dad is coughing up green crap so we need to try and squeeze him into the doctor today. This sucks since I work at 3pm at my other job and would like my 6 hours of sleepytime. Depending on when his appointment is, it may get cut down to like 3 hours. Then Tuesday if it's raining (probably will) I have to drive Dad/Michelle to the polls to vote. I'll still get some sleep but it takes up too much time. I go to vote at like 7:15am when I get off work, I'm in and out in less than 10 minutes. Arrgh. Okay time for a power snooze. Later sk8ters.
