Bleeeech!!!!

Yesterday wasn't much of an exciting day. In fact I spent most of it working here until about 11am and then sleeping until about 5pm. Then I got up and got ready, and went to El Torito for Amy's birthday celebration. It was cool, and the food was good. We had to leave at 8:15 to take Manny to work in SF, and after I paid my portion I realized I didn't have any toll money for the bridge. I had to use the ATM once again. Manny barely made it in to work on time.

After that I went home and yakked on the phone with Fernando for a while, then took a nappypoo before work. And now I'm here, working on some leftover El Torito's. Note to anyone reading this: Never drink BODY FOR LIFE nutrition shakes. NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!

Straight up rockin in Rocklin

I had a pretty cool weekend, well at least it was a weekend for me. Thursday I slept until about 4pm, then got up and got ready.

My show went pretty well, I showed Liana a few things there in the studio and let her play her Napoleon Dynamite Bow Wow Wow song. It was fun.

Afterwards we hit Pac N Save for yet again more food. I swear Manny is a human vacuum when it comes to food, dammit. Every week I have to buy food. Good thing we're taking a Costco run with my mom on Tuesday..free food is always a good thing. Then I got picked up Stinky and went to Starbucks, and went home.

Friday was cool, we made a nice road trip to Rocklin to check out Sierra College and a few apartments. The area is really nice up there. 83% white folks, all over the damn place. Not to be racist or anything but it seemed pretty crimefree and nonghetto up there. The college was great, and people were pretty darn helpful. The counselor really wants to help Manny, and he needs help. So I think Manny will enjoy it there.

The first apartment we went to was fantastic. I really hope we can get in that complex. Bigass bedrooms, nice bathrooms, beautiful amenities. It would cost about the same to live in this place as we are paying now, but we would get so much more space and incentives and crap.

The second place was a giant load of poopy. Office was located in an apartment, a shitty apartment. Office manager rather scared me. So did the maintenance guy. We left very quickly.

Third apartment was okay. A lot cheaper than the first one, but you get what you pay for. Apartment was only 774 sq feet, somewhat older appliances, small but livable if we had to. Also, they only allow one pet, and Leeanne and I both have kitties. So this apartment probably won't work. I'm gonna keep on looking. Leeanne and I are probably going back up in the next week or two to look around again.

Before we headed back to the Bay Area, we hit the Roseville Galleria. Very nice mall, reminded me of Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton. Lots of Abercrombie and Fitch type teenagers, with the surfer look too. No ghetto kids to be seen. Pretty cool. Good day.

Yesterday was okay. Worked in the morning, came home, and watched TV and did chores. Slept a little, and now I'm here. Oh yeah duh.. here's what I played on my radio show...

Bloggety blog blog

<

I've had an interesting last few days. Last night, on Tues night that is, in a 5 min time span I nearly killed a cat, and nearly got carjacked. I had forgotten something at our house, so I snuck out of work to go home and get it. While driving into my neighborhood a little black kitty ran into the street right in front of my car. I swerved and narrowly missed it. I swore I hit it but when I looked in my rearview I could see it running back across the street. That really shook me up. I mean it could have been Turbokitty.

Then as I was walking back to my car after getting the application, I see this druggie lookin black dude on a bike. He rode right past me. As I was getting into my car he turned around and rode up to my car, parking it in front of it. I locked my doors, because I had a bad feeling. He then walked up to my car door with some kind of note. He held it up to the window and knocked on the window. Fortunately I drove away as he reached for the handle on my door. Fuckin scary. I told my dad and he called the police. I would have stayed to make a report but I didn't want to be near that creep, and I wasn't supposed to be there in the first place.

Well, that was my excitement for the week. Later today I have my 80s Disaster show at KCRH, and on Friday Manny and I are going to go check out Rocklin, a possible place to move in the future. I hear it's nice. Okay well I'm going to try to keep myself awake for the next while, then watch some eppies of the Muppet Show.

Soooooouuuuuuul Train!! woooo wooo

Well, I haven't posted for a few days.. thought I would drop on by and say howdy to myself. I've still been working my ass off for the past few days. But what else is new, huh? I've been drinking lots of green tea and water lately, and feeling so much better than I used to. I also started taking Cortislim today, just as an experiment. It says to take two pills a day and not to exceed six. I'm starting off with one pill a day. Im still watching what I eat and going to the gym at least twice a week. Hope it's paying off.

My acid reflux is acting up again, I think I'll get some Pepcid AC in the morning. I really don't feel like going to the doctor, that's for sure. If I had actual insurance I wouldn't mind getting checked out, but I hate paying for the doctor.

Arrgh, I'm 25 and it feels like my body is already falling apart sometimes. It's nuts. I think I work too much, help too many friends and family members with stuff in my off time, and worry a lot. Hopefully I will be slowing down soon, we'll see.

I've been watching a ton of videos on youtube.com.. it's really addicting. Especially if you have nothing better to do with your time at 3am at work. Here's one example of what keeps me entertained here at work...

Get your groove on

Jiffy Lube is retarded

I just noticed that my blog is named "Stuck in an 80s time warp" yet I don't talk about much 80s stuff.. at least as much as I should. Guess sometimes I'm just caught up in real life, I guess. Living in 2006 and working anywhere from 50 to 75 hours a week can cause you to be devoid of any spare time. Im so caught up in my radio career, paying bills, doing housework, and spending time with my Manny that I don't even have time to research on 80s crap. Since I'm in the middle of an 11 hour shift here at work.. followed by a 5 hour one in SF in the morning, I'll try to make time.

I'm also trying to help Manny find another fulltime/parttime job. He brings in about $500-700 a month, just barely enough to cover his half of the bills, if that. He's trying his fuckin ass off to find other work, and has gone to 6 interviews in the past 2 1/2 months, with no luck as of yet. Well 3 of the interviews have been in the last few weeks, and they said "they were interviewing other applicants" and would give him a call when they made their decision. So it's basically up in the air. I have had experiences with a few jobs that do take up to 3 weeks to call you back and hire you, so he does have a chance. On the other hand, they could just be blowing him off. So in the meantime he and I are still perusing Craigslist and thinking of any place that we can for a job. It sucks.

Also, something happened yesterday/today that makes me feel like a retard. I left my other set of keys at KKIQ, in the bathroom. Along with a bottle of water, a yogurt, and a spoon. In a Safeway bag. I asked my homegirl Tricia if she had seen any keys at work there, and she contacted the building's lost and found. Low and behold, she found them. Unfortunately due to my crazyass schedule this weekend I won't be able to go get them until late Monday morning.

Earlier today I went to Jiffy Lube to get my oil changed and wiper blades replaced. I was going to get the tires rotated but they were "doing inventory and couldn't use that work area". I also was going to get two of my front signal lights replaced but they said I probably need to get a fuse replaced. I also should get my transmission serviced soon. I have like over 51,000 miles by the way. I'm thinking of going to Doral's Auto Repair or asking around for a place that can replace my fuses, rotate my tires and service my transmission before I take my road trip in April. I really don't want to go to the dealer, they will rip off my ass and charge like $400 or something. Oh yeah, when I left Jiffy Lube, I discovered my emergency brake wouldn't turn off, and my speedometer wasn't working. I turned around and came back, they fixed it. If they weren't, I was gonna plan on getting someone there fired. Sorry, but my car was running before I brought it there. Freakin morons.

That's what's on my mind for now. I'm gonna go eat some potpie and chicken nubgets, and chill out for a while here at work.

I actually did work tonight.. believe it or not

I had an interesting few days. Wednesday I went to the gym when I got out of KKIQ, then went to Pac N Save and picked up more food. Manny eats like no tommorrow, so I have to stock up on food a lot. LOL. Later that evening I got called into KDFC again, Dane was still sick. I decided to drive to SF, since I had to leave there at 11pm and be in Pleasanton by 12. I got to the city by 6:40, but it took 30 minutes to find stinkin parking. I was 15 min late for work. I don't know if anyone knew or cared, but oh well. Not much I could do. I left work around 10:45ish and got to KKIQ by about 11:30. Not too bad. When I got there I discovered the music log and an adapter for my headphones were missing. I asked Trish Bell (For Lovers Only host) if she knew where it was and she was no help. (She's a natural blonde, FYI) Anyway I had to scroll ahead on RCS to find my billboard artists, and I borrowed some other guy's headphones for my shift. Then I went home and was in bed by 5:30. Allelujah.

Thursday I woke up around 3pm after over 9 hours of sleep. I felt pretty damn good. I don't mind working so many psycho hours if I get enough sleep in between. I took a nice hot shower and got ready for my day. Went to Chabot, and did my show. I was teaching Liana our new PSA director how to use stuff in the on-air studio. We had lots of fun. She's funny as hell. I like her. Came home and watched WWE Raw, then went to work here.

Around 12:30am the power went out here on Hegenberger Road. The lights flickered, everything outside and in the rest of the building went black. Our automation pooped out for the West Coast and a European feed. Long story short, lots of technical issues occured, people were woken up, some forced to come to work at 1am and fix things. For once I earned my $ 13.61 an hour this morning. After an over 3 hour fiasco (including writing a longass report and hunting down a witness to prove I checked the generator fuel), I can finally relax and do some blogging and websurfing. Well I gotta go check out Craigslist and then hop on Myspace. smell Ya'll later.. oh wait.. here's what I played on my show.

Your kiss is on my list

Heidi ho everyone!! I'm at KKIQ right now on air, playing some Alanis Morrisette and Taylor Dayne. Good stuff. I didn't get a whole ton of sleep today, I've been busy. I got up around noonish, and went to my Mom's house for Valentine treats. Manny got a bag of candy too, he was happy.

Oh yeah duh.. you're probably wondering what I got from Manny, huh? Well he said someday he would buy me a car.. so he bought me some toy cars.. and some candy, a card with a cute magnet in it.. oh and a $15 Starbucks card. I love Starbucks. I'm not obsessed, but I do enjoy it from time to time.

I gave him some boxers with red hearts on them, lots of candy, and a cute picture frame with two nice pictures of us together. He was so happy.

Another reason we are both happy is he may be getting a nice paying job fairly soon. Today he went to an interview for it in Berkeley. Basically he would get paid to play cards at a casino in Walnut Creek.. $15.50 an hour. Not too shabby, huh? Better than I get paid to do nothing for a living. We are both crossing our fingers. If he doesn't get this job, he's also waiting on a sales position at some store at Pier 39 called Field Of Dreams. They sell baseball stuff, and he loves baseball. He's also waiting for a position doing security at the Oakland Coliseum for A's Games. That would kick ass too.

We had our "romantic" Valentine dinner at Sizzler, lol. We both agreed it was cheaper and less crowded than Olive Garden. The food was passable, but not fantastic. When we got home, KDFC called. Dane one of the other board ops was sick, so I came in. I had just enought time to go home from BART and grab some food before I got here. They were doing work on the stinkin 580 freeway and blocked off lots of lanes, and people were driving like morons. Oh that reminds me, some dork almost got in a major accident with me on 880 in San Leandro. Dumbass fool didn't see me in his blind spot. I honked and Manny flipped the bird. That was my day in my nutshell. Now I'm at KKIQ playing Hall and Oates about to do the weather. LATER!!

She's a maniac, maniac on the floor...

Well I haven't blogged in a day or so.. and life hasn't changed much. Sunday I worked at KDFC from 2-7pm, then Cathy picked me up. We hung out at my place and she typed up crap on my computer, while I watched stupid stuff on TV. Then we drove around the Oakland hills for a while, and I went to work.

Yesterday I slept until 5pm, and it felt freakin great. 9 whole hours of sleep! Okay I take that back. I woke up around 12:30pm after Manny left for his interview.. and ate some Fruit Loops. Then I went back to bed. I took my precious time getting in the shower, and getting ready. Hung out in my underwear for several hours. Cathy came over and we worked on our "Flashdance" video. She somehow turned it into some Carmen Electra-like striptease. Then she and Manny took times doing bellyflops and backflips on the bed. Then Cathy and I drove around in the hills again, and I came here to work.

I have the space heater blasting in here and just realized its like 80 degrees. Ooooohweeee.. oh well.

Same old crap different weekend....

Why hello everyone!! Long time no talky, eh? Okay now I sound Canadian. I had a pretty good LISA weekend, I guess. Thursday I went and did my lovely 80s Disaster show, as usual. I actually have listeners, the drama kids were totally blasting KCRH outside and dancing. I feel so honored. Nothing really special besides that happened on my show, same old crazy 80s music. No word yet from Live 105 about that College DJ Of The Week... I'm not expecting any either. I bet they really didn't think I play 80s pop. Oh well, their loss.

On Friday I ran errands hither and yawn, as usual. Took Mom to the doctor to have her face looked at, its been swelling up lately. It's a sinus infection, and her face looks fine now. Went to Carrows for lunch, thanks Mom!! Did some business at the bank, picked up Mannypoo from Chabot, returned some headphones at Best Buy, sat my ass in traffic for like an hour getting home from Union City. It usually takes 20 min tops. Damn Friday commuters. I took a nice nap at home Friday afternoon and watched the rest of The Sandlot 2. Cute movie, but I love the original one a lot more. Later that evening we went to Dave and Busters to help celebrate my homegirl Tricia's birthday. Games were played, alcohol was consumed. Fun times. After driving Manny to SF, I took my sister Michelle to Walmart at midnightish. It was HELLA crowded, very insane. I bought a purse and a new wallet, very cute.

Yesterday I woke my ass up early to work in SF at 7am, like my Saturdays usually start. No real probs @ work, the weather had issues with our automation again, but I saved the day with my awesome point-and-click mouse skills. Yay for me. Went by Longs to pick up Valentine stuff, took Manny to Ballys and set up his gym membership. He is ecstatic now, and wants to go every freakin day. I'm working like 60 something hours this week so I don't think I'll be going as often as him. After that we went to Fresh Choice and had a great lunch, then went home so I could nap before work. Okay now lemme post what I played on Thursday:

Kids like you and me baby, we were born to add!!

Okay I haven't posted in a few days so I thought now would be a good time to do it. Yesterday was a pretty cool day. I actually got sleep for once and only got mad at Manny twice. I think it's hormones. Damn PMS.

Slept most of the day, and Manny had an interview with folks at the Coliseum, for a security job. He thought he did well, I'm sure he did. Later on in the evening we went to Ikea, dinner at Lyons then to Best Buy. We didn't buy the entertainment center we wanted at Ikea after we realized neither of us know how to assemble shit. My sister's homeboy helped me assemble my desk several months ago, but she kind of stopped talking to him. Basically why buy something if you can't assemble or use it? We'll just buy one later.

Lyons was cool. They gave great portions and free bread. Great service. Lyons in Emeryville is dynomite!!

Best Buy was pretty cool. I got an Ipod skin and some attachments to my headphones to increase bass. After I got home I discovered they weren't going to work. I'll return them later this week.

I went home and added more music to my Itunes and bought some stuff online pertaining to Manny's Valentine gift. Didn't even cost a buck. Yeah, we're a cheap couple.

Oh yeah, I applied to be Live 105's College DJ of the week. If I win I will laugh my ass off. I play 80s top 40, not trendy alternative music. Boy that show would be entertaining on Live 105.

I didn't really mention what went on Tuesday, but there isn't much to talk about. We picked up some stuff at Target and bought groceries at Albertons. Whoopee.

Oh yeah I was on YouTube.com.. and I found a bootyload of Sesame Street clips from the early 80s that so kicked ass. Here's one of my favs...

My show still kicks ass!!!!!

My teeth hurt like a bitch again. I think I will stop avoiding the dentist and give his office a call today. I know I have major probs with my teeth and I'm cringing just thinking about the bills.

Yesterday was an okay day I guess, I actually went to a KCRH meeting. I never usually go, but I was waiting for Manny anyway. My show was voted "Show of the Month for Febuary".. I won last October, too. I hate to brag, but I guess my show must be good because it won unanimously. :)

Okay, I'm going to go look at more stupid videos on www.youtube.com. Catch y'all on the flip side!!

Myspace comment wars rock!!

Nothing memorable to speak of today. Yesterday I worked at KDFC, and ended up having a Myspace comment war with Cathy. I became engrossed in Wil Wheaton's blog I found online and stopped dropping scary comments with offensive cartoons. I also was on the phone semi-arguing with Manny. I forgot that he didn't have his house keys and I locked the door before leaving the house. He was basically locked out for almost 2 hours. He was not thrilled.

Just a few nice pics I added to Cathy's Mypspace....

I ordered Dominos, and I expected the wait to be an hour since it was Super Bowl Sunday. The pizza was there in 30 minutes. I actually ordered it while on BART at the Fruitvale station. I get off at San Leandro, so I only had a few stops to go.

It's funny sitting on BART and going.. "Hi, I'd like to place an order.. 510-331-****.... One with extra cheese, one with everything, one Meatlover's Special... Do you guys take checks?.... Thanks.. Bye..."

The looks on the faces of my fellow passengers were priceless.

Once I got home we watched about 30 minutes of the Super Bowl and only shut up during commercials. None of them really were too funny.. only the one with the "magical fridge" for Bud Light I found amusing. Manny and I were both tired, so we both slept after that.

Oh yeah, after turning out the lights and heading towards my bed, I stubbed my three smallest right toes on Manny's damn still-packed dufflebag. It hurt like shit. My toes still hurt. I bet they'll be purple by morning. YAY.

That was my day. Nothing too thrilling, but still a nice day.

We always hang in a Buffalo Stance....

Okay well I'm going to start posting my playlists from my 80s Disaster show here.. it only makes sense I guess. First let me do a little recap of my weekend. My weekend is Thursday through Saturday evening, basically. Thursday I slept than got up and went to Chabot. When I arrived I found out that I am no longer PSA director for KCRH. I trained this new girl, Liana. I was surprised that they finally replaced me, and a part of me was sad. Even though I mulittask way too much and work at way too many jobs, I still liked helping out my favorite college station. I know in my heart I didn't put enough time into my PSA/News/Underwriting job and just training Liana helped me put that into perspective. She definitely has the determination and time to put into the position, and I'm happy for her. Then I did my show, it was pretty much the same old crap. That night I went to Dennys with Stinky my older sister and got some stuff at Pac N Save.

Friday I slept until noon, which felt fantastic. I ran errands pretty much the whole afternoon, and hit the gym. It takes lots of will power to get my lazy ass to the gym, so when I get there, I'm happy with myself afterwards. Mom bought me Wendys, which kicked ass. I got artsy crafty at home, and made a poster for Manny, who was coming home later that night. Around 11 I picked up Manny at the Southwest baggage claim. He was so sexy and I missed him so damn much. Since he's been back the past few days, I feel like we're first going out again. I think I love him more than I did when he left. I'm sighing just writing this. If you read this honey, sorry I'm getting so mushy. You just have that effect on me.

Saturday I got my ass up early and worked in SF at 7am. Lots of fun. A stupid Hotels.com commercial wasn't there, I had to find it myself in the system. Also, our automation decided to skip over weather at 8am, me and Joe from Traffic.com had fun with that. Later in the afternoon I ran errands and hit the gym again. YAY. Then I completely vacuumed out my car and washed it. I bet 10 to 1 that a bird is crapping on it outside in the parking lot as we speak, but oh well. LOL That was my weekend in a nutshell, now I'm gonna post what I played on Thursday night, yall.

Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side?

Man, my tummy hurts. I think I'm turning into a hypochrondriac. Or it could be stress. I've been tryin to take it easy this week, sleeping a lot more than usual and getting enough exercise. I have even been eating the right things, I think. I've been investigating my symptoms online and I may have an ulcer, but I really don't want to go to the doctor. I'm too freakin scared. I'm such a wimp. Maybe I'll just lay a giant fart soon and feel much better, hopefully.

Cathy and I were driving around in the Castro Valley/Oakland hills last night and she said if something ever happened to me she wants to play "Rainbow Connection" by Kermit The Frog at my funeral. Nice morbid thoughts, lovely. So if my stomach is ruptured or something equally as deadly/disgusting, remember to play the rainbow song, people. I'm going to sit here and suffer for another 2 1/2 hours until I can go home and collapse into bed. :)
