Had a fun shopping day

  • Word up homie Gs. Its the middle of the week, and almost 2009. Tomorrow to be exact. Where will I be when the ball drops? Here, of course. Anyway here's what's been going on lately. Monday morning I decided to order a Flip video camera on BestBuy.com since I had a $50 gift card to burn and I like new toys. I picked it up that evening after working at Traffic and picking up Michelle first. It took forever there in the store, but I finally got it. It's very easy to use and looks kinda cheap, but I hooked it up to my TV and the picture quality is a step up from my digital camera's videos. I think I'll get some good use of this gadget in 2009.
  • Tuesday morning I wanted to go to the gym and get my oil changed, but I opted for sleep. I felt guilty but everyone I spoke to told me I deserve at least 7 hours of rest. Cathy woke me up around 3pm, I got ready and we went to The Englander for dinner. I had a salad, split some popcorn chicken, and ate half my chicken burrito. I'm eating the other half right now. It's so yummy. After dinner we hit up Newpark Mall and had a grand ol time. I'm glad we took the time to go to Steve & Barry's. Everything is 50% off since they're going out of business, and the clothes are already cheap. I got 2 pairs of girly jeans and a shirt for $18. Beat that with a baseball bat. We went to other stores as well, like Spencer Gifts. Oh and I got my eyebrows waxed again. They needed serious maintenance. Last store we went to was Target. I got a cute girly shirt, mascara, gel pens, a new car air freshener, Cocktails For Dummies, and I can't remember what else. I'd like to again thank Aunt Brenda and TJ for the gift cards and money so I could get cool stuff while shopping today. Oh and thanks Fern for paying for half of my camera. Haha. Not like any of those 3 people have a Myspace or read my blog. Still, they get mad props. Mad props to all of my friends, just for being my friends. I love you all. Okay I need to make a fat grocery list, see y'all later.

hey hey hey

  • Howdy doody folks. I'm back from a pretty darn cool weekend. Busy, but cool. Friday afternoon I worked at Traffic, then picked up Cathy's bday cake. Later on I went home and uploaded pics on Myspace, then watched Step Brothers in my room and fell asleep.
  • Saturday morning I worked at my job in SF, then met coworkers from Traffic for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. Good grub, good talk. I was in the middle of the table and heard two totally different conversations. Don't you love that? Afterwards I barely made it here on time to fill in for 3 hours for Shannon. She was in Indiana visiting family for the holidays. Sweet overtime for me, I can dig it. While I was here I ordered the pizza, cheesy bread and hot wings for Cathy's bday thing online, and they were ready to pick up when I got there. Awesome. The bill wasn't awesome but hey it's Cathy's bday. Well technically it's tomorrow, but whatever. So by the time I got home it was 7:30, and I didn't feel bad because no one really showed up until 8. Fernando, Grace, Joey, TJ's friend Joe, Amy, Stuart, Amanda, her husband and two kids all came. It was great. I ate way too much pizza/cheesy bread/cookies. Oh freakin well. Fun times for all.
  • Sunday morning I slept in until 9:30am and went to the 1:30am service at church. We were there 30 min early since Davina had told me 11am. I was kinda mad since I lost 30 min of sleep, and Michelle really didn't want to be there at all. I told her she was there for a reason, God didn't bring us by accident. Although I can tell you the sermon wasn't that enthralling. He was talking about how we all go through trials, and to love God through the good times and bad. Yes that is a good point, and believe me over the last 3 years I have had some trials. Oooohwheee. I really don't need more. 2008 has been a lot less stressful than the previous two years. Moving on, he spent most of the time talking about how the church tried unsuccessfully in court to get a new building and how bummed he was about it at first. I mean I feel for the guy but he went on FOREVER. That and there were 3 baby dedications we had to sit through. I'm starting to like first service more, at least we don't have to stay late. After that was over, we took Michelle to pick up an extension cord for her room then dropped her off. Davina and I got lunch at Elio's there in San Leandro. Her dad and Uncle Willie were there too. Haha. I had a turkey cheeseburger and fruit. It was tasty. Afterward we went to my place and watched some special features from Step Brothers, then went on a walk to the duck pond and around the area, then back home. I'd say about a mile and a half of walking. Then we hit up McDonald's so she could get some McNuggets, and Starbucks so I could get my decaf skinny hazelnut latte, then I dropped her off at home. I uploaded more pics, then took a three hour nap, made dinner, and went to work. Whoohoo.
  • This week I am working a lot. Cathy's bday is on Tuesday and I'm taking her shopping and out to dinner. Gotta utilize them gift cards. Yay! Okay I've done enough blabbing. Later sk8ters.

Hope you all had a great Xmas

  • I had a very fun holiday with my family. Christmas Eve I didn't sleep as much as I wanted to. I was excited. I woke up around 1pm when Amy came over to exchange gifts, and stayed up the rest of the day. She gave me Tropic Thunder, and New Kids On The Block Greatest Hits on DVD. Plus a Mister Rogers shirt that I don't have. Awesome! After she left I went with Cathy to Togo's and Starbucks for dinner/caffiene. I was bad and didn't get a decaf latte. Oh well. So I went home and showered, then picked up Dad and Michelle, and went to Uncle Jim/Aunt Brenda's house. We had an awesome time. Yes scary Aunt Becky was there with Uncle Ray, so were their sons Dustin and Brandon, my cousins. My closer cousins Kim and Terry were there with their respective husbands/kids as well. It was a fun time. The best part was when Santa showed up. I got a picture on his lap, that'll be uploaded this evening. It was great to be with family and friends, and eats lots of sugarloaded goodies. Kim kept literally piling more stuff on my plate. As we were leaving she gave us each bags with even more cookies, candy and yummy treats. Geez woman.
  • Christmas Day was also fun. I got to sleep in until 3pm, about 8 hours of sleep. Cathy baked cookies and a ham, plus did a great job cleaning the living room. I'm so glad it looks semi-normal again. Once I was up and showered I put away laundry then picked up Dad and Michelle and brought them to our house. We had a great dinner with ham, stuffing, sweet potato casserole and rolls. There was Chex mix, chips, all kinds of cookies and brownies to nibble on. Oh yeah I had a little lite egg nog, and later on endulged in hot chocolate with marshmallows. We also had sweet potato and apple pies, but I haven't really dug into those yet. I'll try some tonight I guess. Yummy yummy. Soon we opened our presents. It was great looking at loved ones unwrapping boxes and getting excited. Here's what I remember getting.. money from TJ, Target giftcard from Aunt Brenda, about $25 in Starbucks giftcards from 3 different relatives, lottery scratchers (I won $3 and got 2 free tix), way too much candy (both of my sisters gave me stockings full of it plus what my cousin gave me the night before), two new pairs of jammie pants, two new sets of flannel bedsheets that match my new wall color, make-up, a Hickory Farms box, a Chocotini gift set, more body wash/lotion/spray, and a rubber duckie themed bath set. I think I did okay. After opening presents, our/TJ's pals Joe, Jeff and Alisha came over. Cathy, Alisha and I played Sesame Street Uno. I think I like regular Uno better. This one didn't have many cards and we kept having to shuffle. After many jokes and cups of coffee, the little gathering dissipated, and I took Michelle/Dad home. Now I'm at work. Again. Oh well.
  • To anyone I missed, I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. I sure did. It's not about the gifts or even the food. It's about celebrating a baby born in a manger, who came to save us. It's about being with your family and friends, and making memories you'll look back on in 20 years. Not about fighting, not about getting wasted, not even about Santa Claus squeezing his fat booty down your chimney. Remember that.
  • Okay I'm gonna go now. The next few weekends are going to be busy for me. I'm working overtime here as a favor for a few coworkers. That and Cathy's bday is next week. Lots going on. Everyone have a great weekend, I'm going to go join Leeanne's stupid vampire clan on Facebook so she'll shut up. Sorry Leeanne I love you dear but I think those apps on there are really retarded. Okay toodles.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Xmas

  • Ho ho ho! It's almost Christmas time, folks. It's Christmas Eve, to be exact. Here's what's been going on in my world. Monday was insane. I worked at Traffic, and had kind of a stressful shift because of a coworker who left me with more than enough work to do. I had to leave at exactly 8pm since I had grocery shopping to accomplish. I did take off on time, then Michelle and I hit Walmart, Lucky and of course Starbucks. Walmart was all kinds of crazy. Unless you are stupid/desperate and have not completed your Christmas shopping, DO NOT GO IN THERE. Please. After our shopping I still had to go home and put away everything. This was no easy task since the dogs were inside and the stupid gates were up. Climbing over them with bags of food and someone's nose in my crotch was not easy. I was 30 minutes late getting here because of all this nonsense. Ugh the holidays.
  • Tuesday was not so bad. I worked at Traffic again, went home, made dinner, and unwound a bit. Those few hours of down time back a difference. Now I'm at work and all is calm. I'm hecka excited about Christmas time. Last Christmas blew royally, with Mom dying just days before. This year my Aunt Brenda invited us over to join in the Christmas Eve festivities along with a bunch of other family members. I am bringing the camera. There will be footage of crazy Aunt Becky and pictures galore. I hear Santa Claus is coming too, and I'm wearing my elf shirt and hat. Haha. I still have to work here both tomorrow and on Christmas Day, but oh well. I get more comp days for it. In fact by the time my little vacay to L.A with Cathy takes place in March I can use all my comp days and cash in my vacation to use on the trip. My anniversary of working full-time here is in March anyway so I'll get another year's worth of vacation days. 3 weeks I believe. Okay enough rambling.
  • Everyone have a very happy and safe holiday. I love all you guys. Thanks for the cards Davina and Dustin. Oh and Fernando too, although he doesn't have Myspace anymore. Anyone I forgot, my bad. I didn't send cards this year, sadly. I've just been so busy lately and such. Y'all will get "Merry Christmas" comments on your pages soon enough.
P.S. I just farted, and it hella smells.

I miss you Mom.. and newsflash.. I'm fat!! ROTF

  • Hey there homies. Back from another weekend. I actually got rest, can you believe it? Friday morning I worked at Traffic, then came home and collasped into bed. I was TIRED. I'm tired most of the time, but I was to the point of feeling drunk. I told my coworker Gianna to answer the phone, since I was kinda slurring my words. The other Lisa (Lisa D, who used to be Lisa C, you know her Leeanne) was doing traffic for KOIT and both she and Gianna made nummy treats. I was a bad Lisa. Okay anyway so I went home and conked out, and Cathy woke me up around 6pm to tell me she and TJ were going to the Iron Horse and I was invited. They waited for me to shower and eat some supper, then we took off. We only stayed there about an hour and I had a few drinks. Then we stopped by Coldstone and TJ treated me to a Who You Callin Shortcake? Sundae. Did I need it? Not really. It was good though. Face it, its the holidays, I'm already fat. Haha. Later I went home, watched TV and went to bed.
  • Saturday morning I worked in SF, and got stuck for an extra 30 min on BART due to a track malfunction near Lake Merritt. Eventually I got back to San Leandro and went to the gym. No it didn't reverse all the bad stuff I've eaten lately, but whatever. Later on I came home and did housework, then watched a lot of TV. Oh and I made a mixed Christmas CD to bump in the car. I watched even more TV after that, then fell asleep in my room watching Scrubs.
  • Sunday morning I woke up nice and refreshed. 11 hours of sleep will do that to ya. I think I deserved it. I took a shower, ate some instant Cream of Wheat (those servings are uber small, no wonder I'm hungry all the time), then Cathy and I picked up Michelle and Dad for our ride up to Sebastopol. We stopped by Safeway so Michelle could pick up flowers and I could get coffee for everyone. Soon we were on our way and were blasting Christmas tunes. The ride up there is so peaceful. After visiting Mom at the cemetary, we had lunch at McDonalds. I got my fries with no salt, if that helps. Yeah I was bad. Ugh so hard to eat healthy. So on the way back we got more coffee then headed on home. Once Cathy and I got back to the house we switched cars and I went with her to pick up some groceries at Lucky for her and TJ. TJ gave her money to buy food since he's a guy and eats triple what even I can put away. When we got back home I uploaded pics to Myspace then watched movies in my room. The cinema choices for the evening were "Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus" (thanks Kimmie) and "Like Father Like Son". Cathy came in and I popped a huge pimple on her buttcrack. I'm sure she's stoked to hear I'm blogging about it. It was gross.
  • It's 3 days until Christmas and my schedule is hectic. I'm working all week of course, with comp days coming for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I'm actually doing our grocery run this evening since there's no way on God's green earth that I'm setting foot in a store on Christmas Eve. That's the only other time I'd have to squeeze in shopping. So yeah. Craziness.
  • Yesterday was exactly one year since Mom passed. I really don't have enough time or energy to blog a giant retrospective about what the past 12 months have been like for our family. This will be my 2nd Christmas without her. Last Christmas was only 4 days after she passed and we were too busy planning her funeral arrangements to fully enjoy the holiday. I still wake up sometimes and wonder if it's a bad dream, if I call my Dad's house maybe she'll answer and not Michelle. Guess I'm just silly. I miss her a lot, and I always will. God needed her more than we did, obviously. I shouldn't be so selfish. Okay well I'm gonna go now. Here's a video Victoria from my fulltime job made at our Christmas dinner last week. I have 2 giant chins. LMAO

I hope you dance

  • Hey there homies. Yes it is Friday. Here's what my past few days have been like. Wednesday morning I did the grocery shopping in a fast manner. Well I tried anyway but Michelle took her sweet time at Walmart and drove me up the wall. Then I managed to get 5 hours of sleep and had to be up and showered since Mikey was coming over a little before 4pm. Once he was safely in my car we had dinner at In-And-Out, then met Tricia at her house. She was the driver on our road trip, not me. Awesome since I got to relax and actually drink/enjoy myself for once. I ended up having a ton of fun there at the bar in Sacramento. I only had 4 drinks in 4 hours, so I wouldn't say that's too bad. Leeanne got plastered but hey it was her birthday and everyone kept buying her drinks. I also got to hang with friends I hadn't seen for a while, and learned to play beer pong. Good times. On the way back we had Del Taco and stopped in Pinole to pee. Well for Mikey to pee, since there was no open bathroom and I didn't feel like peeing on my socks. I held it until I got home. Mikey and I drove to my place from Tricia's, and watched In Living Color season 1 on my bed until we both fell asleep. What a Wednesday night off, huh?
  • Thursday morning I had to be up kinda early since I was picking up Dad at 8am. Michelle wanted to go on a day trip with her boyfriend Albert to Sebastopol and I brought Dad to my house to keep an eye on him. First we stopped by Starbucks of course, and at home I got him settled in a chair with a blanket and a steady marathon of Animal Planet. Meanwhile I did dishes and laundry, straightened my room, and finished my little tribute video for my mom. I'll post it at the end of this blog. Cathy was home in the early afternoon and sent me to Lucky to get her blue cake frosting. She was baking a cake for her boss' bday. Once I got back from there, I took a nap in my room for a few hours. I dropped Dad at his house later on, then met my coworkers at Quinn's Lighthouse in Oakland for our holiday dinner. I ended up being myself, Brad, Victoria and our boss Jon. None of the part-timers showed up. I didn't mind too much, the food there is kinda pricy. Once I saw the bill for the four of us I almost crapped myself. Thank you Family Radio for paying for my steak, rice, veggies, salad, garlic bread, and bread pudding. Yum. I forgot the stupid memory card for my camera so I didn't take a lot of pictures. The ones I did post came from my phone. Victoria and Jon both took some pics so eventually I'll post them once they're available. After dinner I went home and watched TV for a bit and took a nap, then came to work. The End.
  • I hope to actually get enough rest this weekend. That always seems to be my goal lately and I rarely accomplish it. This morning after I get off work here I'm pulling a shift until 11:30 or noon at Traffic. Extra money for me. I hope to be in bed by 1pm and then I'll sleep until whenever. Saturday I'm working in San Fran, then I hope to return to the gym and rest later on. Sunday is one year to the day since my mom passed away from cancer. My sisters, Dad and I are going to the cemetary to see her, eat lunch, get coffee, etc. Oh yeah, here's the little tribute video I made for my mom. It isn't much, but it made me teary-eyed anyway.

I miss caffeine

  • Hey there folks, it's me sleepy Lisa. I haven't had caffeine in days and it shows. I am not counting decaf lattes since they have only a trivial amount of caffeine. Anyway not too much going on lately. Worked at Traffic both Monday and Tuesday. Went home, made dinner, ate it, tried to watch TV. My roommate's been here with her kids the last few nights. I don't mind too much, although I haven't been able to work on my Mom project because those kids are so distracting.
  • I should have enough fun today/tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to Leeanne's bday get together in Sacramento and carpooling with friends. I actually got the night off so we don't have to leave too early. Mikey's staying the night at my house (just like old times), it should be fun. Thursday morning/afternoon I'm babysitting my dad. Michelle is taking a well deserved trip with her boyfriend to Sebastopol. Basically I'm picking up my dad and bringing him to my house, and he can watch TV/nap while I also take a nap. I may do some work on the project if I'm conscious enough. Then in the evening I'm going to a work Christmas dinner at Quinn's Lighthouse in Oakland. Whoo free dinner.
  • Okay I'm almost near the point of falling asleep, looks like it's time for a power snooze. Toodles.

Simply having a wonderful Christmas time

  • What's up y'all? I'm back from my weekend, which didn't seem to last long enough. Lemme break it down for ya. Friday afternoon I got up, showered, picked up Davina and headed on up to Cache Creek to see my hot dancing men Australia's Thunder From Down Under. There was a little traffic on I-80 but we made it there in about 2 hours. We had more than enough time to eat at the buffet before the show. It was a little overpriced but there was an awesome spread. Lots of different meats and seafood (which I didn't eat.. DUH), that's probably why it cost so much. Lots of desserts too. I got my real taste of dessert once the show started. Oh my lordy it sure was worth the drive. I'm sure Davina's favorite part was the bald guy who ran up to our section in his thong and she got a hug. Haha. We waited afterward and got pictures with them, in case you haven't noticed the new pictures on my page. Haha. I'd say overall I prefer the Chippendales. The Thunder guys are better looking, but the Chippendales put on a more entertaining show, use more props, and also sing/play instruments. American Storm is coming to Cache Creek in April, so we'll definitely be there. Anyone wanna join us? Haha.
  • Saturday morning I did the usual work in San Fran, and in the afternoon I took Michelle and Dad shopping at Newpark Mall for the last of the Christmas shopping. Dad was pretty bored and I tried my best to entertain the old guy, but it didn't help much. Eventually we left the mall, got coffee and hit the freeway. There was a fun incident where Dad decided to sip his coffee (a big no-no), the lid came off and I got a nice hot beverage in my crotch. Not cool. Literally. After pulling over, finding the lid on the floor, and sponging off my pants, we drove around and looked at Christmas lights on houses. I love holiday time, even though it sucks not having my Mom here to enjoy it anymore. Mom loved the holidays. After dropping them off, I went home and spent quite a while wrapping presents. I had like 20-30 of them. Sorry but I like to give, and most people are getting more than one present. Haha. Eventually I settled down and took a LONG nap. One of those where you lay down for a few minutes and wake up 3 hours later. Then I woke up after 4 hours, uploaded pictures, then went to sleep.
  • Sunday I was a good girl, woke up, had breakfast, picked up Michelle and went to church. Afterward we hung out with Davina for a few hours. We had lunch at Nick's, then went to Target and blew up our Thunder pics into 8 X 10s, and got frames. Mine is on my wall by my bed. Haha. Also picked up a Christmas 80s CD. At home later I downloaded a lot more Christmas music, ate dinner, watched TV, and took a nap. Now here I am.
  • This week I am one busy woman. Working at Traffic, going to a birthday party, a work related Christmas dinner, babysitting Dad. Fun stuff. Also working on that video project. Fun times.

Oy vey

  • Thank God it's Friday! Whoo. This week has been busy and tiring. Okay so technically I'm working the Thursday night shift at work, but this time tomorrow I'll be asleep (I'm hoping).
  • Here's a little of my stress the last few days. Wednesday morning on the way home from work I noticed my air pressure was low in my front driver's side tire so I filled it at the ARCO station. In the afternoon the pressure was low again as I went to my job at Traffic, but was fine on the drive home in the evening. A few hours later on the way to this job, it was low again, and low on Thursday morning. After my long shopping excursion I took the car to Wheelworks and they checked the tire for a leak. No leak in any of the tires. Air pressure is fine for now. Maybe it's due to cold weather, I don't know. I'm driving to Cache Creek out in the boonies later tonight and I'd appreciate knowing that my tire won't go flat on a deserted road. They said if it keeps happening they'll patch the tire for me anyway, but I don't have a lot of spare time to go have that done. Oy.
  • Other stresser. Got chewed out by some dork back east for a mistake that was the computer's fault, not mine. I caught a mistake halfway through the 30 second file. I was under the impression that in broadcasting it sounds more professional to play the wrong thing all the way through then cutting it off halfway and cutting into the middle of something else. Forgive me if I'm wrong fellow broadcasters. (It was a 30 sec newsfile, and played a broadcast from the previous day instead of that morning, at 6:30am their time on a boring religious network.) Okay this guy totally was going off on me on the phone, and went on about stuff that doesn't even happen on my shift. Since I value my employment I just apologized and left it at that. Made me so angry though.
  • Well other than that life is peachy. Tonight Davina and I are going to have a grand ol time at Cache Creek seeing our Thunder Down Under. Saturday I hope to kick back and relax during the evening. Sunday I may do some make-up sleep and wrap some presents. Okay see y'all laterz.

too much crap to do, too little time

  • Hey y'all. I sound like Paula Deen. Haha. Anyway I'm back. Not a whole lot of excitement going on. Monday I worked @ Traffic, came home, made dinner, and watched a movie in my room. TJ's sister was home, and so were her kids. I didn't mind but I needed some alone time to veg out. After a bit of rest I came to work here. Ooooh aaaah.
  • Tuesday was pretty much the same. Worked at Traffic, came home and ordered some pics to be printed at Walgreens. Then made supper, watched some TV, then went to my room and hung out in there before work. Now I'm here. TJ's sister and her kids were there again, plus the dogs were inside since it was freezing outside. I don't mind the dogs, but the baby gates I have to climb over are a pain in the ass. That and they have to hide the garbage cans so the dogs won't get into them and the kitchen is a mess. Oh well. I'm crossing my fingers that later today I'll get some rest without loud kids or dog barriers in my way.
  • This morning I'm taking Michelle to pick up a rake at OSH, then dropping her off at home. I gotta start some laundry and get to bed ASAP, since I work at Traffic again. I really don't understand why that woman needs a rake that bad and can't wait one more day for it, but whatever. Okay well off to edit my Myspace page and talk online with Mikey. Yay.

! can only take so much Fred Savage..

  • Hey there folks. I'm back. Weekend was pretty fun, since it was my monthly trip to Lodi. Lemme break down what happened. Friday afternoon I worked @ Traffic, and that was okay. After work I originally had plans to go to Fernando's house and hang out, but I was pretty tired so I decided to lounge around at home instead. I ate dinner and had a few drinks with Cathy and TJ, then Alisha came over too. I went to bed around 11:30pm since I had to get up at 6 the next day. Cathy later told me that Jeff came over soon after and everyone stayed up until 3am. Good thing I didn't stay up and party, I can't run on 3 hours of sleep without becoming a walking zombie.
  • Saturday I worked in SF, and got back to Bayfair BART a little before 2pm. I stopped at Starbucks to pee and get a decaf caramel macchiato then off to Lodi I went. Cathy was also going to Kimmie's to spend just the afternoon, and she left San Lorenzo a few minutes before I did. In Tracy I got a call from Cathy, and we realized I was only a mile or two behind her. I tried to catch up, but to no avail. Once we got to Kimmie's house, we had a lot of fun. Her niece Joyce was there to also spend the weekend with us. She's a great kid but can be a bit obnoxious at times. So first thing we did is watch NKOTB's Step By Step home video, one of the classics. Then Joyce put on the Hangin Tough album since everyone likes seeing me dance like a moron. Once we got that out of our systems we watched 4 episodes of the Wonder Years (one of Kimmie's Xmas presents from me, bootlegged but oh well). Soon everyone was hungry so Joyce went with me to Foster's Freeze to get dinner and Arco to fill up my gas tank. When we got back we watched Ernest Saves Christmas and Jack Frost (two movies that Kimmie gave me). While lounging around viewing Ernest save Santa's butt, I busted out the Mad Libs. I love putting gross words in there, its so awesome. After Jack Frost was over, we decided it was time for bed. I was tired and everyone needed their sleep.
  • Sunday morning I woke up around 8:30-9am and hopped in the shower. We had to be ready by 10:30 since Kimmie's Dial-A-Ride was coming. We were barely ready on time but somehow made it. After going to the bank I met Kimmie and Joyce at Weinerschnitzel. It has absolutely nothing nutritional there at all. I tried to pick the least sodium filled items, which were a corn dog and regular fries with no salt. I was bad and had a sundae for dessert. I wanted a shake at Foster's Freeze the night before but we were a dollar short on our order so I had gotten a diet soda instead. I'm digressing. After filling our bellies with greasy fast food we did some serious shopping. First to Kmart. I got a cute present for Michelle (another one) and some Sesame Street Uno cards. Then onto a dollar store that I forgot the name of. I got more Christmas decorations, wrapping paper, fun stuff like that. On to Big Lots where I found some $3 treasures in the DVD bin. "Diner" starring Steve Guttenberg and Daniel Stern is a classic. Also "Daddy's Dyin.. Who's Got The Will" with Judge Reinhold, and "Like Father Like Son" with Kirk Cameron and Dudley More. Hahaha. So eventually we got back to Kimmie's place, then decided on Subway for dinner. I got everyone $5 footlongs since that's more economical. One sandwich for now, one for later. My sandwich was turkey, and later I read online that it has 1000mg of sodium. Only sandwich there with a lower amount is the veggie delight. I really love meat but geeze I think that's what I'm getting next time. Anyway after Subway we got coffee at Starbucks (decaf nonfat latte for me), then back to the house. It was Kimmie's turn to torture us so she threw on the Wonder Years again. She's obsessed, man. We played Mad Libs for a little while longer, then Joyce had to go home. After she left, I put on "Betaville", a horribly made straight to DVD independent film. It's BAD. Then of course, Kimmie put on a few more episodes of The Wonder Years. Can you tell she likes them? After this I had to pack up and leave, then come here.
  • Oh and of course we exchanged presents. That broad got me Ernest Saves Christmas, Baby Boom, Jack Frost, Single Santa Seeks Mrs Claus, and Earth Girls Are Easy. I also got a stocking full of stuff. Oh and her mom got me a Simpsons Battle Of The Sexes game, random bird knickknacks, some generic gem necklace, lotion and bodywash. I made out like a bandit. I gave Kimmie several DVDs including The Wonder Years, Secret of My Success (on VHS), and Doc Hollywood. Cathy got Wonder Woman jammie pants among other things. I gave Joyce a giftcard for Kmart and she used it on our trip. So overall, I had a fun pre-Christmas celebration with my friends.
  • This week's gonna be kinda crazy. Working at Traffic Mon-Wed, Thurs is shopping day and on Friday I'm driving up to Cache Creek with Davina to see my male strippers. Haha. All this on top of working here of course. Whoo hoo adult life rocks.

way too many details

  • Hey there folks. It's Friday, and thank God for that. Wednesday was grocery day. I was supposed to go to the gym, but when we arrived Michelle discovered she didn't have her membership card or her I.D. So no dice. Instead we started our grocery/christmas shopping. Walmart first, then Kmart, then Lucky. Starbucks last of course. When I got home I put away groceries, started some laundry and such. I only slept about 5 hours then Michelle called because she had a fever of 102 and she could barely talk. So I rushed her to urgent care at Kaiser in Oakland and we barely made it on time. It closed at 7pm, and she walked in the room at 7 on the dot. Of course I hauled ass through San Leandro and downtown Oakland by taking 880 to 980 to 580, it was fun. Anyway yeah she has strep throat and is on antibiotics.
  • Thursday was okay. Worked at Traffic, then came home and did a little housework, made some dinner. Fernando called and invited me over to see his new kitten Bumblebee. He's a male orange tabby and very cute. His nephew found him at school, poor thing. I also had a piece of Fern's ice cream bday cake. Yummy! So then I came to work, and.. WARNING: IF YOU DO NOT LIKE READING ABOUT MY PERIOD, STOP HERE.. things got a little interesting. See Aunt Flo's been lurking around and I expected her to come back soon but not this dramatically. Wowzers!! Messed up my jeans, then an hour later messed up my gym shorts. Rockin the sweatshirt tied around my waist. If I didn't sit on my butt all of my shift I'd be calling folks to come in. This is a crimson monsoon dude. (Urgent! Urgent! EMERGENCY!) That was from a Foreigner song. Anyway.. I have pads but even wearing 2 of them doesn't help much. Ay chihuahua! Have I used enough crazy "Oh my God" expressions in this blog entry or what? Okay I think it may be time for a power snooze. Toodles.

Mmm waffles

  • Howdy doody! What's crack-a-lackin? Nothing too spine chilling or exciting here. On Monday I slept, worked at Traffic, came home and made dinner, watched some TV, came to work here. Same old routine. Tuesday morning I was planning on going to the gym since I didn't have to work in the afternoon. Instead, Davina called me up and invited me to breakfast, and I couldn't turn that down. A good hearty meal with friends is something I can't pass up if I'm actually available. So I picked up Michelle who was going to go to the gym with me anyway, then picked up Davina and went to Ole's Waffle Shop in Alameda. Their food is awesome. Only bummer is that they overcharged me, and I didn't realize it until I looked at my bank statement a while ago. I'll give them a call later this morning, hopefully I can get a refund or a free meal or something. Partly my fault since I signed the credit slip and didn't look closely enough. Oh well, stuff happens. I went home and slept, woke up, watched the director's commentary of Mean Girls, made dinner, watched some TV, napped, and came to work. Nice relaxing day.
  • Today is Wednesday and if you're a blog reader you all know it's grocery day. Yay! Well a workout at the gym then grocery day. Gotta make a few other stops since I need to get a Kmart gift card for Kimmie's niece and I need a check register for my checkbook so I may stop by Staples. Whoo hoo! Being an adult has its fun moments but also the mundane drone of running errands and working too much. Oy vey. Haha now I sound Jewish. Mazaltov! Okay later sk8ters.

patting myself on the back

  • Hey there homies. Back from the weekend and I'm proud of myself. I'll go over why I'm so patting myself on the back in a moment. Friday morning I finally got well deserved sleep, then worked @ Traffic that afternoon. In the evening I went home, had leftovers for dinner and took a load off. It felt great. I actually got enough sleep that night as well.
  • Saturday I did the usual working in the morning thing. I ended up staying an extra 30 minutes due to losing a music log then finding it way later in an obscure place. Also there was a commercial missing for a major client so I had to dub that in. I finally got back home, and conquered some housework. Grace texted me a while later and invited me to go eat pizza with Fernando and the gang to celebrate his bday. Of course I said yes. We had Mountain Mike's and boy was it tasty. After getting my fill of pizza and soda I followed Fern's son Joey around for a bit. That kid grabbed my camera and figured out how to take pictures, and he had loads of fun. I suggest getting him a kid-proof one for his bday. Afterwards I went back to Fern's house where we played Guess Who? (remember that game from back in the 80s?) and watched Cheech and Chong's Up In Smoke. Good times.
  • Sunday I was a good girl, and actually got my ass up and went to church. First service too. It was cool to get into the swing of things, although I really wanted to sleep in. After church Davina, Michelle and I went to Newpark Mall because Michelle needed to exchange a hat she bought for her boyfriend. We did a little shopping, and I picked up some sugar-free chocolate. Oh and we ran into our pals Tanya and Nicole who used to work with us at Sportmart back in the day. Haven't seen those fools in like 5 years. Wowzers. Well after the mall, we were hungry so we went across the street to the new BJ's restaurant. I had gone to another one in Stockton with Sandi earlier this year and loved it. This time I had the gigantic stuffed baked potato (chicken, cheese and broccoli), with a side salad first of course. We didn't have room for the Pizookie, but next time we definitely will. Next we made a drive-thru Starbucks run, then stopped by my place so I could get my earbuds and change into my workout attire. Oh and before that I went to Lucky to pick up toilet paper and tortillas. What a combo. So after my place we dropped off Michelle at home, then Davina and I went to the San Leandro Marina and walked the 3 mile trail/path thing. I amazed myself by walking it and not dropping dead. Okay so I'm carried away but I'm definitely not in shape and I survived. So yay! I'm hoping to go to the gym on Wed and Thurs this week, hopefully that'll help.
  • So that's why I feel accomplished today. I went back to church and I walked a lot. I'm not a marathon runner like some of you, and I don't always do what's right, Christianwise. But hey, it's a start.

Happy Black Friday, Thanksgiving was tiring

  • Hey there people, Happy Black Friday! There is no way on God's green earth I am going near any retail establishment today, just to let you know. I worked retail, so I have experienced hell firsthand. It is not pretty. Also, I have no time since I'm working both jobs. Thirdly, I am sleep deprived and pretty crabby. Last thing I need is some old lady running me over with her cart over a $5 toaster. ROTF
  • So yeah, the last few days have been fun. Wednesday morning was the grocery run. We didn't encounter too many crazies at Walmart or Lucky, but we started shopping at 7:30am so I think we lucked out. We bought a ton of food for Thanksgiving, and we have a ton of leftovers now. Oh well. I got a decent amount of sleep later on, then made dinner and watched some TV before work.
  • Thanksgiving was okay, although I only got about 3 hours of sleep that day. I worked the overnight shift that morning, then home for what little rest I could muster. Tried for more but Cathy busted in my room to take a shower in my bathroom. Oh well. Then I got up, showered, picked up Michelle and Dad, made a very necessary Starbucks run, dropped them off, and came to work at Traffic. I worked there almost 8 hours until 8pm. There was stuff to do but nothing too stressful.
  • I also caught a marathon of 50s Dance Party on KOFY 20. Those of you not from the Bay Area may not remember it but back in the late 80s, music from the 50s had a brief resurgence and all the middle aged and old geezers put on their greaser outfits and poodle skirts and shook their heinies. In one episode they played "The Stripper Song" and old guys took off their shirts. ROTF. Mom used to watch that show with us every Sunday afternoon when we were kids and dance along while doing housework. That show was the sh*t. Before that I was watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS and that made me even more emotional. From seeing a Smurf balloon to promos for Frosty The Snowman, anything connecting my childhood holiday years brought a tear to my eye. *sigh*.
  • So after work there I went home and tried to take a nap. I got about 30 minutes of rest in. Needless to say I was a bit cranky. I was kind of snappy to both Michelle and Dad who didn't deserve it. After grabbing some leftovers to take for my dinner, I dropped them off at home then came to work here. I gave Victoria a ride home, settled into work, did my Bible Study and dozed for like 3 hours. Haha. I feel A LOT better, although still bushed. I'll get 6 hours of sleep this morning before working at Traffic again, and I'm off work tonight. Thank God it's Friday!
  • Weekend should be low key. Working in SF on Saturday morning, and dragging my butt back to church Sunday morning. Rest of the time will be spent resting, I hope. Oh and eating leftovers. :-)

drooling

  • Hey how's it hangin? Wait don't answer that. Haha. It is I, Lisa, writing around 1am on Thanksgiving Eve and trying to stay conscious at work. It's the middle of the week, and most people are working a half day and taking the rest of the week off. Luckyasses. I work in broadcasting, and the show must go on, so to speak. So yes, plenty of comp days and double time will be accrued, I assure you.
  • Let's see Monday I worked at Traffic, came home and made dinner, watched TV and went to work. Tuesday I worked at Traffic again, then picked up Michelle and went to In-And-Out (I got my cheeseburger with no extra salt, fries with no salt), then home to make some steamed carrots to add a bit of nutritional value to dinner. I got to kick back and watch TV for a whole hour (wow!), then dropped off Michelle and came here to work.
  • Oh yeah, on December 12th Davina and I are going to Cache Creek to see Australia's Thunder From Down Under. Oooh whee. Don't know who's hotter between them and the Chippendales, we chose the latter in Vegas since they were cheaper. Now's our chance to see them, and I can't wait. Now that's what I want in my stocking. We were going to spend the night there but the hotel room is WAY overpriced. The drive is only a few hours anyway.
  • Okay that's about it. Everyone have a great gobble day. I'll be working that night, probably blogging again, as always.

Almost Gobble Gobble Time

  • What's up folks? Not much going on. I had a cool and relaxing weekend. Friday afternoon I got up and went out to work only to discover that I didn't have to be there after all. Jarrod had asked me to work earlier in the week and I told him yes, but he was there when I showed up. I was slightly annoyed since I sat in traffic for 30 minutes. He did apologize profusely, so I give him credit for that. Later that evening I went to dinner at El Torito with Cathy and we drove around a bit, then we hung out at home. A while later we swung by Al's (Alisha) house to chill out, but there wasn't much to do except watch her other friends decorate for a party the next day and listen to her other annoying friend butt into other people's business. We hung out for about 45 minutes texting each other then went back home. I ended up drinking a rum + pineapple juice and going to bed shortly after.
  • Saturday I worked in SF, then picked up Michelle and went to Newpark Mall to do more Christmas shopping. I have about 75% of it done now. I'm starting to get more into the spirit of things and I love giving, so what more can I say? Later on we picked up Dad and went to Applebee's in Alameda for dinner then Borders so Dad could pick up a book or two, and of course we got coffee there as well. Later on at home I hung out with Cathy and watched movies/TV, then went to bed around 12am.
  • Sunday morning I slept in again. Yeah I know I haven't been to church in a few months. I kinda feel I'm spending my time with God five days a week while I'm doing Bible study here at work. I spend about 30 minutes reflecting on what I'm reading and realizing what it has to do with my life. Even Old Testament stuff has relevance to today. So yeah I have A LOT more room to grow but hey, I try. Anyway I slept in, did a little housework, then made organic pancakes with sugarfree syrup for breakfast. I know I'm not diabetic but I limit my sugar intake in some meals, so I can use it later on. Like later on that evening I had a bowl of ice cream. Haha. Anyway after breakfast I took a shower and went to the gym with Cathy. I worked out for a whole hour. 25 min of cardio and 35 min of lifting weights. Yay for me! This was my only gym visit until this Saturday. I'm working 66 hours this week, so sleep is going to be more of a priority. (I love holidays and holiday pay!) After the gym we got coffee and drove around for a while, then went home. I had a santa fe chicken salad for lunch, uploaded some movies to Youtube, downloaded lots of new music, uploaded it to my Zune, ate dinner, watched a lot of Night Court on DVD (I have season 1), then I took a nap for a few hours before work. That my friends was my weekend.
  • Like I just mentioned, I'm working a ton of hours this week. I always work an average of 55 hours a week but it's bumped up a notch due to the holiday. I don't mind one bit since I need the money. There are millions of Americans right now who are out of work, so I don't take this for granted. Also, promised the boss at Traffic that I'd work Thanksgiving so I don't have to work Xmas over there. I'll still work here on Xmas though, and maybe at KDFC for a few hours on Xmas Day. During the evening on Xmas Eve, I'm going to my Uncle Jim/Aunt Brenda's house to celebrate and Santa Claus is stopping by, I can't wait. Haha. Last year I had Xmas off, but my Mom was kinda dead. So yeah, it sucked. Okay I'm outta here for now. Toodles!

Oh yeah, posted 2 new videos on Youtube. One is from last weekend at Kimmie's house, other is just random singing/driving featuring lots of turkey gobbling from Cathy.

Wow I'm actually doing work..

  • Hey there homies! What's crackin? Not much here. I'm just sitting here at work at 3am, eating celery (with peanut butter yeah I'm bad but I'm hungry) and drinking some type of citrus tea. It's pretty tasty. Not a whole lot to report.
  • Wednesday I did go to the gym (yay), then did the usual grocery trip. Then I went home, cleaned the litterbox, started some laundry, and finally caught up on sleep. Boy did I need it, too. Thursday I went to the gym again (woot woot!), home for breakfast then took Dad to a doctor appointment to have his stomach tube replaced. I did get in bed by noon and got an okay amount of sleep. I woke up around 6pm and watched some TV with Cathy/TJ, took a shower, made dinner, watched some TV and took another nap before work.
  • Oh yes, just to let you guys know, I LOVE MY PHONE! Yeah the G1 is freaking awesome. It has a touch screen similar to the iPhone, but the keyboard similar to the Sidekick. I love the downloadable Android programs like Twidroid (for Twitter), Myspace and Google Maps. Oh and I've gotten maybe half of my Xmas shopping done. Thank god for the internet, that's all I can say. Haha. Okay gotta go, I'm actually doing work as we speak. Automation is having serious hiccups and I've been fielding phone calls, leaving voicemails and rebooting computers. Oh the joy.

nothing much going on

  • Hey there homies. Not much going on as of late. Let's see Monday I slept, worked at Traffic, came home, made dinner, watched some TV, and came here. I did pretty much the same on Tuesday as well. I also made time to stop by Dad's house and check on him, and eat some pizza with Michelle and her boyfriend Albert. He's doing yard work on the house and seems to be a nice guy.
  • This morning I'm going to make a point of going back to the gym (finally), then it's the usual grocery run. Dad hasn't gone in 3 weeks since he's been sick so I think we should bring him along, just to get him out of the house. That should be fun.
  • Thanksgiving is coming up. I'm working both jobs on Thanksgiving and the day after, so I'll be exhausted but the holiday pay/comp days are kickass. This will be the first time since 05 that we'll not be eating our holiday meal in a hospital. Dad had pneumonia in November of 06 and Mom was in and out of the hospital in November/December of 07 until she passed away. Cathy will be doing a lot of cooking including 2 giant turkey breasts and stuffing, and Michelle is even making Mom's recipe for sweet potato casserole. Yum! I won't be enjoying the feast until about 8:30-9pm, but oh well.
  • Okay not much else to discuss, I'll keep on eating leftover zucchini and farting around on Myspace and Pogo.com. Haha.

Nerd party and pre-Thanksgiving feast

  • What's up homies? I'm back from my weekend. I had a lot of fun. Friday evening I met Sandi in Stockton and we went to a "Nerd Party" being held by her church group. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to be bored or not, but it turned out to be pretty fun. I really didn't know anyone there but Sandi, but everyone was friendly and made me feel right at home. Sandi won first prize for her nerdy outfit and I even flirted with a guy or two. Haha.
  • Saturday I worked at KDFC, then headed on over to Lodi to have yet another 80stastic weekend with Kimmie and her niece Joyce. First thing we did when I arrived was go on a field trip for dinner at Rick's Pizza. It was yummy, and yes I did have a mongoloid size side salad as well. Gotta get my veggies in when I can. Afterward we went to Baskin-Robbins, I had a scoop of chocolate fudge. Man it was good. Last stop on our adventure was Starbucks, I had a skinny vanilla latte. Once we got back home we watched a few episodes of Kids Incorporated from the first season. That show is so cheesy, but it's great. Then we all decided to do each other's hair/makeup, and take crazy pictures. Next we put on Hangin Tough Live (NKOTB, in case y'all didn't know) and did some awesome dancing/singing. It was my turn to pick the entertainment after this, so I put in Stay Tuned starring John Ritter and Pam Dawber, that movie where they get sucked into that satellite dish that evil Jeffrey Jones (the Dad from Beetlejuice) sold them. Yeah it was corny but as a child I loved that movie. By this point it was after midnight and I was bushed. Kimmie and Joyce were still wide awake, and put on a Peter Cetera CD. I promptly fell asleep in the middle of "Glory Of Love". Oh well, I was pooped.
  • Sunday morning I actually got to sleep in for 9 hours, and it felt great. After doing some straightening and taking a shower, we had poptarts and coffee for breakfast. Not the most nutritional thing, but oh well. Kimmie and Joyce watched the New Kids' "Step By Step" video and I caught the tail end of it while chowing down. Next Kimmie put on three episodes of the Golden Girls, one of them guest starring Mario Lopez, who was also one of the dancers on Kids Inc (was well as Saved By The Bell, etc). Those old ladies are always funny no matter what. Maybe I'm just too young but I don't know why they got so hot over mediocre looking old dudes. When I'm 60 am I going to be turned on by old geezers? Gross. So after a while we grew tired of the old gals and I threw on Ping! starring Judge Reinhold, Clint Howard and Shirley Jones. It was fairly predictable and more of a family/kid film, but it was cute. Also, Judge played a really dumb robber, so it worked well. Next Kimmie put on the original Freaky Friday starring Jodie Foster, John Astin and the guy who played Jimmy Olsen in the Superman movies. He was the guy Boris who lived across the street. I've loved the film since I was a kid and I still enjoy it. Kimmie bought it for me last year for Christmas, she has great taste. After this movie was over, Joyce put on Harry And The Hendersons. John Lithgow frightens me for some reason. Maybe because he was such a jerk in Footloose, I don't know; maybe his constant luring for Jane Curtin in 3rd Rock From The Sun. Anyway, the movie is cute but he's frightening. Last movie for the evening was Zeus and Roxanne starring Steve Guttenberg and Miko Hughes. Shirtless Mahoney. You can't go wrong. Oh yeah, we still had time to kill so Kimmie threw on a few more episodes of Kids Inc, including one guest starring The Hoff. ROTF.
  • Oh no Kimmie I am not forgetting all the food we made, and the preparation for it all. See since this was my November visit, Kimmie turned into an early Thanksgiving feast. She started cooking a little before noon, and we didn't eat until a little after 5pm. See when you have cerebral palsy and enjoy cooking/baking from scratch, things take A LOT longer. I helped out as much as I could by preparing the green beans (well snapping the ends off), putting in/taking out various things in the oven, and fetching ingredients from various random places in the kitchen. Things got a little intense as we got closer to eating time, but I think Kimmie was a bit stressed out. I hope I helped enough, Kim. I usually cook meals that take 10 minutes or less to prepare, so sorry for my ignorance on serving utensils. :-( I also put all the food away and loaded the dishwasher, do I get brownie points? I still feel like an idiot for not helping more than I did. Oh well.
  • Anyway I did have a great weekend and I'll have more pictures up sometime this evening, I'm hoping. I'm tired, may be time for a power snooze. *yawn*

I'm a dork, big shocker

  • What's up homie Gs? Things are a lot better today compared to my last blog. My foot doesn't hurt nearly as much and it's starting to heal. It's only painful to stand on it for longer than 5 minutes. Also, I did end up getting a new phone. It's the techy geek in me, I can't help it. Had to get the G1 from T-Mobile. It's got similar features to the iPhone but with the Qwerty keyboard similar to a Sidekick. I love the darn thing. It's so much fun.
  • No other important events happened in LisaLand lately. Wednesday morning I got out of work early and did the shopping run with Michelle, then went to T-mobile and signed my life away again. Eventually I went to bed, but I kept waking up to play with my phone. Haha.
  • Thursday I didn't do much at all, that's a good thing. I was contemplating going to the gym but I didn't think it was a good idea since my foot was still on the mend. I did sleep almost 9 hours, and that was awesome. Then I ate tacos for dinner (homemade, not Taco Bell), watched a lot of TV, napped, then came here. I needed at least a day with no productivity.
  • Of course this weekend should be rad. Tonight I'm going to a "Nerd Party" with Sandi in Stockton. I told I don't need to dress up I'm already a dork. I'll probably just grease up my hair, find a dorky shirt and hike up my pants. It'll make my butt look huge but who cares? Saturday I work in the morning, then I'm going to Lodi for the weekend. Kimmie's planning our Thanksgiving feast for Sunday afternoon. That girl goes all out, she's crazy. But you gotta love her. Okay toodles!

my foot hurts, my phone sucks ass

  • I am tired, and I've been so unlucky the past few days. I'm very sleep deprived as I write this so forgive the weird sentence structures and such. Monday morning I took Dad to fill out some forms to get a dumpster for the front yard. He's having both yards cleared later this week by a friend of Michelle's boyfriend. This lady behind the desk at the garbage place recognized Dad, he had helped with her dogs years ago when he was doing animal control. She thanked him for it, and I think that made his day, to know that he makes a difference in the lives of people. When I got home later that morning, I was walking through the hallway barefoot and stabbed myself in the left foot with a metal screw that was sticking out of part of a cat tree in the hallway. It hurt a lot, so I poured peroxide on it, slapped on a Garfield band-aid and went to sleep. I worked at Traffic that afternoon. Later on in the evening while at home and wearing flip-flops I stabbed myself in the same place in my foot AGAIN. This time on the corner of a random box that was sitting in our kitchen. (Note: TJ's sister is in the process of moving in so there's random crap everywhere) Oh man that HURT. It made a hole maybe half an inch deep in my foot and there was a lot of blood. TJ did some minor surgery (basically cleaned and bandaged it), and I went to work. I've been changing the bandages about 3 times a day, using peroxide/polysporin, and there is no sign of infection. It hurts when I walk on it, but that's expected. So yeah, that's been fun. I'll try to maybe stop by urgent care later today or tomorrow and get it looked at, just in case.
  • Tuesday morning Dad went back to the doctor. Turns out he has some kind of fungal infection in his lungs on top of whatever else. Tests are still being run. Dad's finishing the antibiotics and getting breathing treatments. He has to go have his stomach tube replaced next week, luckily it's an in-office procedure.
  • Oh yes also, my phone decided to stop working on Tuesday. It had died the night before and I put it on my charger while I was asleep. When I woke up I noticed it had the little hourglass symbol which meant it was still loading. I tried taking out the battery, waiting forever, putting it back in. Also tried alt-caps-delete. It reset the phone, but then it went to the loading screen again. I talked to T-mobile and I have to redownload software and reinstall everything on my phone. Problem is I have no clue where the sync cable is. Looked in my Blackberry box where the instructions still are, looked all over my extensive collection of random electronic accessories. No luck. See, it's not wise for me to live without a cell phone. I don't have a land line, and my roommates are at work during the day so I can't use their phones. I have 3 jobs and a seriously ill parent. My part time jobs occasionally email me during the day and I answer them via the Blackberry. So yeah, I really need a solution for this. I'm afraid I'll have to dip into "Taking Victoria To BART for 4 Years Refund" from work and get a new phone. BOOO. Oh yeah I found my old Sidekick 3 and tried to use it, but it froze 2 min after I put in the SIM card and booted it. Now I remember why I got the Blackberry when I did. *sigh*
  • Other than all those woes, life's okay. Brad's coming to work a little early so I can get a head start on grocery shopping. Then I guess I'll swing by T-mobile and see what needs to be done. Maybe they have an extra 8700G sync cable. If not I'm kinda screwed. Oh fun.

sing with bravado

  • Heidi ho folks, I am back. I had a fairly decent weekend. Kinda busy but what else is new? Thursday morning Dad had a doctor appointment and it was confirmed that he has pneumonia. He's still on some hardcore antibiotics and staying at home, and has yet another follow up on Tuesday morning. He seems to be okay except for the hacking up of giant phlegm balls.
  • Friday morning I took Michelle to the lab to drop off Dad's phlegm sample, and it took a freaking hour. She had to sign in and wait that long to drop off a cup of yellow mucus. It cut in on my sleepytime so I was kinda mad. Then later on in the afternoon I worked at Traffic, and it was pretty fun. That evening Davina and I went to dinner at Mimi's Cafe then went to see Role Models in Dublin. The movie was pretty darn funny. Good job, David Wain. It wasn't one of those "OMG I gotta get this on DVD" kinda movies but it was very entertaining.
  • Saturday I did my part-time job as usual. Spent most of my time actually working, which was a good thing. When I got back home Cathy wanted to get out of the house so we went to Stoneridge Mall. We perused the clearance section at Hot Topic and got sweet deals. I got a new pair of shoes for $11 and a new backpack for $5. Score! Later on in the evening I went to dinner with Davina and Lorie at The Elephant Bar. I saw one of my former Burger King coworkers Pedro there, he's really nice. Then we did karaoke for 3 hours in Hayward, and had a blast. I love belting my heart out. I think Davina blows everyone out of the water with her style and pizazz. Kinda hard to beat that bravado. Although I'm more on key. Haha. Lorie does well with R&B and rap songs for some reason.
  • Sunday morning I slept in late, and it felt awesome. I hadn't gone to bed until 4am since I got in late from my night out and watched a movie there in my room. I eventually got out of bed a little after noon. I decided to be healthy and go to the gym with Cathy. I haven't gone in well over a week due to so much crap going on lately. When I got home I completely got my new room organized. I made 3 boxes of stuff for GoodWill and got everything else crammed in my closet. Later on in the evening I went to Chili's with Michelle, then we came back to my place to watch TV and chill. And now I'm here. How thrilling.
  • I have a feeling I won't be getting much sleep this week either, least in the next few days. I wish Michelle would stop scheduling errands on days when I'm working my afternoon job. I need my rest, dude. The doctor thing I understand about. We're keeping a close eye on Dad's health since he had pneumonia a few years ago and spent 3 months in the hospital. I'm tired of ailing parents around the holidays. Hopefully the antibiotics are kicking this thing's ass. So if any of you guys wanna keep my Dad in your prayers, go ahead and do that.

I'm a walking zombie

  • And.. I'm back. I normally blog on Tuesday nights but last night I was nauseated/exhausted and spent a good deal of my shift with my feet up trying to doze off. Here's how the last three days or so have been. Dad went to the doctor on Monday morning. He has the beginning stages of pneumonia (again), but we caught it in time. He's home on some hardcore antibiotics and feeling much better already. He has a follow-up appointment this morning but I'm going to be sleeping in the car, thank god. Monday afternoon I worked at Traffic, and it was the shift from hell. It was raining pretty badly, that meant flooding on freeways and spinouts everywhere. That and we were short a person, so there were two of us doing the job of three people. For every accident we would put in, ten more would pop up. Oh it was fun.
  • Tuesday nothing monumentally exciting happened. I worked at Traffic again but it wasn't so crazy. Oh yeah. I voted. And Obama won. Yes I voted for Obama, and although I'm not all gung-ho, I think he's better than McCain. Also, what's up with everyone speculating that he's the Anti-Christ, or he's a terrorist, blah blah? I swear everyone's got a conspiracy theory about everything. Let's give this guy a shot. Apparently the nation was stupid enough to give Bush eight years, give this guy at least four.
  • Okay I'm off my political soap box for now. That's about as much as I'm getting into. I hate discussing politics with friends since half of them agree with me, and the other half don't. I also shut my mouth about religion unless I'm with another Christian. Just nod and agree, since most folks who run off about politics/religion seem to be looking for an argument.
  • So early Wednesday morning I was working here and felt nauseated. This is a side effect of my hormones. I get all the lovely symptoms of being pregnant without the pleasure of having sex and really being knocked up. Haha. I puked a few times and spent the majority of my shift halfway dozing in my chair and trying not to think about food. Also I was kind of worried since at home Spencer had thrown up about five times. I figured it was because I had changed his/JD's wet food less than a week before and didn't do it gradually enough. His tummy didn't have time to adjust. When I got home in the morning he had barfed a few more times, but the last barf pile had a long string of yarn in it. I guess he had that stuck in his throat or something and was trying to dislodge it, and eventually did. The rest of the day he had a healthy appetite and was his active self, so I think he's fine now. Just in case for a day or so I'm going to give him baby food as a precaution, I don't know if his tummy is still upset. Then I'll switch him back to his original wet food. I spoil my cat, can you tell?
  • So yeah I haven't gotten much sleep over the last three days or so. Monday I got a total of about 3 hours. (not counting work dozing) Tuesday I got about 5 hours. Wednesday sucked, I got maybe 4-5 hours in two intervals. I left work early that morning and slept a few hours before grocery shopping, then I managed to finally get some sleep in the evening for like 3 hours before work. I tried so hard to sleep in the afternoon but my body would not let me. I think when you stay up for 24 hours or so it becomes rather difficult to send the message to your brain to shut off. Like an hour after I laid down TJ came home and was watching TV. The door to my room was off its hinges due to previous work being done in there, so it made it nearly impossible to fall asleep. I even tried listening to classical music on my Zune. Then TJ's friend came over to help replace the window in one of the other rooms, and God that was loud. TJ did apologize several times since he was under the impression that I would be working and not even be home. Also, he put the door back up in my room, but it didn't really muffle the hammering/drilling coming from the other side of the house. Luckily for me this renovation crap will most likely continue on weekends and I now have a door again so I should be able to sleep today. I hope. I think I need Nytol or something. Geez.

Yeah it was fun.. I hate my hormones

  • What's up, yo? I'm back from my weekend, as you can see. I had loads of fun. Friday didn't have that great of a start. I got off from work and went to my parents' house to drop off my car and borrow their van, since I was picking up Kimmie in Lodi later that day. Well first I had to gas it up, then it took FOREVER to get home since it was around 8am and I have to pass an elementary and a high school to get home. When I arrived, I realized I left my house key with the rest of my keys at my parents' house. So it took way too long to get back there, then I drove all the way back, and finally got in bed. I got about 5 hours of sleep, then headed on over to get Kimmie. Her sister Carol was there and helped me get her into the van using the lift. It was a piece of cake. After stops at Starbucks and Taco Bell, we were off to the Bay Area. We got back a little after 6pm, and I decided to show her my old house in Oakland, along with my elementary school and where I work. Only problem was driving down Fruitvale Avenue at 6:30pm on Halloween, it was crazy. Traffic sucked. Eventually we did get back to my house around 7pm. TJ and his friend Joe helped get Kimmie out of the van, up the 2 steps and into the house. My Halloween party itself was pretty fun. Our attendees were Amy, Alisha, Jeff, Joe, Davina, Kimmie, myself, Cathy, TJ, Michael Ray, another Cathy, Brad, Victoria, Grace and Fernando. Pretty good turn out. We watched The Worst Witch, the cheesetastic 80s movie with Mrs Garrett from The Facts Of Life and Tim Curry. It was awesome. We also watched the Amityville Horror remake, and then Beetlejuice. Fernando kept making drinks for himself and I, and we also did random dancing. I'm glad everyone had a good time.
  • Saturday I worked in "the city". I was a little late since I made myself confused looking for my backpack. See for some reason I knew it wasn't in the van, but I didn't think to look over by my desk, I convinced myself it was in my car parked in front of my parents' house. So I drove all the way to the other side of San Leandro, searched for like 10 minutes in both vehicles, then all the way back home to discover my backpack was there the whole time. Then I finally drove to Bayfair BART. This wasn't a great start to my day. I eventually made it to work, and stayed busy the whole time. I did the usual stuff, including extra tasks my boss assigned to me. I also caught a mistake someone made, had to call my boss and then his boss just to get permission to fix it. Don't you hate it when you see a problem, you know how to correct it but you have to go through a chain of command first? This is why I enjoy working by myself most of the time. So I got home in the early afternoon and helped get Kimmie ready to go home. TJ had to do some mechanical work on her wheelchair but eventually we got out the door a while later. After stops at OSH and Starbucks, we all drove out to Lodi. It was raining, but not too awful. Cathy decided to drive home, and I was tired anyway. The ride for her sucked because it started raining pretty darn hard and visibility sucked. Plus the windshield wipers on that van aren't that good anyway. Eventually we got back to the Bay Area. They stopped for Hawaiian food on the way, then I dropped them off at the house, and finally went to my parents' house and gave them back the van. Michelle wanted to go out to dinner so we ate at Marie Callender. I love their cornbread. Okay the next part of this is dealing with girly issues so boys stop reading here.. ** I had a feeling my period would be coming, so I was wearing a pad. Well um it started on the way to the restaurant so I changed my pad there. Apparently, the dam broke so to speak while we were eating, then I coughed and WHAMMO. Maybe guys have no idea what I mean but sometimes we just overflow. And I did, a lot. When we got up to leave I may have left a spot there in the booth, I'm pretty sure I did. Well soon as I got up I powerwalked all the way to the car and let Michelle pay. When I got home to change, it was bad. It was going down my legs into my socks, okay? The bathroom looked like a scene out of a bad 80s slasher film, I'm not joking. I got cleaned up and felt pretty woozy from the blood loss so Cathy was nice enough to drive Michelle home for me. Then I changed into my jammie pants and overflowed them 20 minutes later (while wearing 2 overnight pads). God I hate my period. I seem to be okay now, I just feel like I'm 500 lbs.* Later on when I was feeling better I watched Ping! in my room and fell asleep.
  • Sunday I finally caught up on sleep/rest. I woke up around 6:30am to upload pictures and eat breakfast, then went back to bed until 1pm. Michelle called and wanted me to take her and Dad to Newpark Mall so he could get a heads up on Xmas shopping. I was originally going to sleep all day but I obliged. So the mall wasn't too bad. I had some Subway for lunch (half a $5 chicken breast footlong with some strawberry yogurt), got a few things at Bath and Body Works and Hot Topic. Traffic on the way back was HORRIBLE. 880 North was jammed pretty bad, I ended up getting off the freeway in Union City and taking the streets back. Then of course they wanted Starbucks so we went through the drive-thru, then on home. After I dropped them off I got gas then sped back to my house so I could eat some dinner and chill out. I had the other half of my footlong and steamed asparagus. Yum.
  • I am not getting much sleep the next few days. Dad is coughing up green crap so we need to try and squeeze him into the doctor today. This sucks since I work at 3pm at my other job and would like my 6 hours of sleepytime. Depending on when his appointment is, it may get cut down to like 3 hours. Then Tuesday if it's raining (probably will) I have to drive Dad/Michelle to the polls to vote. I'll still get some sleep but it takes up too much time. I go to vote at like 7:15am when I get off work, I'm in and out in less than 10 minutes. Arrgh. Okay time for a power snooze. Later sk8ters.

has anybody seen my tambourine?

  • What's up my homies? Today is HALLOWEEEEEEEEN!! Can you tell I'm hyper and barely sitting still writing this? That and I'm rockin out to America. "You can do magic, you can have anything that you desire.. magic.. and you know you're the one who can put out the fire.. " Okay I'm a dork, I admit it. Like that's a surprise, right? The last few days have been pretty okay. Wednesday morning I was pretty darn busy. Went to the gym, got my oil changed, did grocery shopping, I was awake about 24 hours straight. Have you ever had it where you stay awake so long that it's hard to fall asleep? I had issues sleeping that afternoon. Eventually I did though, but didn't sleep long enough.
  • Thursday I got more sleep, then took Michelle to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. I pigged out way too much, but oh well. Then Cathy was making cupcakes for my Halloween party and gave me a few of the "special" screwed up ones. I could only handle one since they're laced with enough sugar to put most people in a diabetic coma. So good though. Then I hung out with Leeanne at Dennys for a bit. We were bad and had fries/chicken/onion rings. I didn't eat many and saved most of it. So yeah diet-wise, I was a PIG. I brought a little leftover food with me but I'm going to eat my grapes, apple slices and yogurt first. I'll probably end up leaving it here in the fridge at work. The bad food I mean.
  • So yeah today is the party. I gotta go pick up my parents' van after work and gas it up, then home to sleep for like 6 hours, get up and get ready, then drive to Lodi to get Kimmie. I wasn't able to wrangle anyone to come with me and help but her sister Carol is going to assist with getting her in the van. By the time I get home TJ will be there along with several other dudes so exiting the van and going into my house probably won't be an issue. I'm hecka juiced though. I love dressing up, spending time with my friends and eating bad food. Like I really need it. Saturday I'm working in San Fran then taking Kimmie back to Lodi, and um Sunday I am sleeping in. Supposedly I'll begin moving into my new room this weekend, but lord only knows. Okay I'm going to go rock out to bad 80s soft rock. Toodles!

Be thankful every day

  • Oh my goodness I am all kinds of tired. I've been getting 5-6 hours of sleep the last few days and now it's catching up with me. Fortunately, the rest of the week should be bringing more rest. I hope. Nothing too thrilling going on, as you can imagine. Monday I slept, worked, took Michelle to Walmart, watched some TV, and worked some more. Tuesday I did more sleeping and working. Pretty mundane, I know.
  • Today I've got a bit more on my plate. After work I'm going to the gym (finally), I need to get my oil changed, then the weekly grocery run with Michelle/Dad (we need A LOT of stuff), help them put their stuff away then home to unpack my groceries. Then starting some laundry and finally getting in bed around 1pm. Whew.
  • I am a bit excited because of Halloween on Friday. Cathy's going to start decorating for the party tomorrow. Including myself at least 10 people are coming, with maybe 5-10 more that might drop by. Now if you are reading this going "I want to go, I didn't get invited.. " then just message me, text me, gimme a call.. whatever. The more the merrier, I say.
  • On a serious note one of my friends David is in need of prayer/thoughts. (Not Magical David that just got married, but Heart Transplant David.) See he got a heart transplant when he was 14 and his body is now rejecting the heart, so he's cooped up in the cardiac unit at Stanford, hoping he gets approved for another transplant. He may need a kidney transplant as well. Poor kid is only 22. I've only hung around him a few times but he's always been a really nice guy. He came to my bday party several months ago and we all had a great time. I'm praying for a miracle transplant or something, he already had a second shot at life, how bout a third, huh? If any of you can send a shout out to God, it's appreciated.
  • Well that's all for now. Hope I didn't bum everyone out with the last topic. Let's all think positive and be thankful for the lives we do have. Most of us are in good health, and have good friends/family around us who care. Don't take your life or anyone one else's for granted. You never know when your number is up so live every day like it's your last. Don't sweat the small stuff. That's enough cliches, I'll leave you guys alone. I'm gonna go take a power snooze. I need one. Toodles!!

i hate you McFries

  • Howdy doody. I'm back. Did you miss me? Maybe. Maybe not. It's okay either way. I had a pretty decent weekend. Friday we took Dad to the doctor, he had blood/urine tests done. The doctor ruled out any stroke or heart problems, but he really didn't pinpoint anything either. Oh well, he has an appointment in January, if he gets way out of hand before then we'll bring him in pronto. After that I spent Friday evening at home relaxing with Cathy/TJ, it was great.
  • Saturday I worked in SF. I actually stayed busy with work the whole time, it was weird. Not bad since I do get paid to work and not sit around on Myspace, but I'm just not used to it. Haha. After I got back to San Leandro I decided to spoil Cathy. First I took her to lunch at Mimi's, then inside Southland Mall since I had to get a birthday gift for my other sister, then I treated her to a pedicure, and I got one myself. Oh and I got my eyebrows done too. I really enjoyed my very first pedicure, although I admit it was odd sitting in a massage chair while some random Asian dude was massaging my calves. It was worth it, though. A few hours later I picked up Michelle and we got In-And-Out Burger for dinner (no salt on my cheeseburger, no salt on my fries), then came back to my place. We were going to go eat at a random restaurant but I was tired and everywhere seemed crowded. That was my Saturday in a nutshell.
  • Sunday morning I slept in late, made myself organic pancakes for breakfast (with sugarfree syrup), then Cathy and I headed on over to my parents' house to pick up Dad and Michelle to head to Sebastopol. Of course on the way up there was had to stop at Starbucks first. Told you my folks were addicted. Then we went to the cemetery and put flowers on everyone's grave. It was really nice. Afterward we had lunch at McDonalds. I told Michelle that I wanted a McNuggets Happy Meal with apple slices, and instead she got me a McNugget value meal with fries. I was kinda pissed since I had fries the day before and I've been watching my salt intake like a mad man. Oh well. I only ate half of my fries anyway. Damn addicting McFries. Then we headed back home. For dinner I had a chicken breast patty and peas. Wow I monitor my food a lot. Guess I feel like I need to. I try hard to eat healthy and exercise, and I often get disappointed with myself. Both my sisters tell me I'm doing fine, but I still worry way too much and put myself down constantly. I hate it when I do that.
  • Anyway, here I am at work as usual. This week is fairly normal. Working @ Traffic later today and on Tuesday, Wednesday is grocery day, Friday is my Halloween party. YAY!!! Okay I'm going to go do a Myspace survey and take a power snooze. Toodles!

Oh yeah, I made a short video of random clips from the last few weeks. Warning: Offensive Language. LOL

i hate seeds in my grapes

  • Howdy folks. Sleepy Lisa here again. Trying to stay conscious at work and eating grapes. As usual life isn't too thrilling. Let's see Wednesday morning I went grocery shopping with Michelle and Dad, that was fun. Note to self: Remember to pick out seedless grapes next week. Spitting out seeds is a major pain in the booty. Anyway yeah once I got home I put away the groceries, started some laundry, cleaned the litterbox, and eventually got in bed. Wednesday evening I watched some TV and actually relaxed for once.
  • Thursday morning Michelle and I went to the gym then stopped by Target. I got all the Garfield holiday specials on DVD for $5. What a deal. I can't wait to watch Garfield's Halloween Special next week. Yay! So eventually I got in bed, and did get some sleep. Probably not enough, but oh well. Then I watched The Benchwarmers with Cathy, well about half of it. She rented it on Netflix and that copy had issues. It kept repeating a scene of Nick Swardson running and screaming like a banshee back to his closet, and then froze on Jon Lovitz looking like his eyeballs were melted. I laughed so hard I was crying. LMAO. So after that I watched too many episodes of Scrubs, burned a CD for Michelle and went to work. Here I am.
  • This weekend should be fun and hopefully relaxing. Dad has a doctor appointment this afternoon so I want to go home and sleep before that. Lately he's been more confused and we want to see if we can get some medication to help him out. On Saturday I'm working in San Fran then I'm not sure what's going on after that. I may go get a pedicure with Cathy, we'll see. Sunday the family's going up to Sebastopol to visit Momma and put flowers on everyone's tombstone. Fun stuff I know. Okay toodles, I'm gonna go take a semi-snooze.

yay spencer came to work again

  • Hey there homie G's! Why the exclamation points, I don't know. Felt like being expressive. Not much going on at all. It's my midweek "nothing going on I work too much" blog. Let's see on Monday I worked at Traffic, took Michelle and Dad to Bakers Square, and worked here. Tuesday I worked at Traffic again, then came home and made dinner and watched TV. Then I kidnapped Spencer and brought him to work with me again. Oh yeah I guess I forgot to zip up his kitty carrier all the way and he got out while I was driving on the freeway. He was in the backseat with his paws on the window resembling Garfield, it was funny. The unfunny part was fighting with him for 5 minutes, getting him back in the carrier so I could take him inside. What a brat.
  • Nothing exciting happening today either. I'm gonna take the brat home, go to the gym, then do the grocery run as usual. My eyes are so droopy now I think I may power snooze soon. Fun. Oh and I'll take too many gratuitous pictures of Spencer while he's here. Haha.

i had fun but im bushed

  • What's up my homies? I'm back from a pretty cool weekend. Let's see what happened on Friday? Well I still felt like crap yet somewhat better, so I went with Davina that evening to see Vera Wilde at the Ashby Playhouse in Berkeley. She got free tickets, and it was interesting. Okay to be honest I found most of it boring, but I understood it. A good percentage of my friends have no interest in European politics of the late 19th- early 20th Century, nor would they be able to follow the confusing time line. Most of the audience were the intellectual types that would shell out $30 or more to watch people in tights discuss the Russian Revolution and the sexual preferences of Oscar Wilde. Myself and Davina (who spent most of the 2 hours nodding off), not so much. If you're into this type of thing or are an insomniac who wants to get a good snooze in public, then go for it.
  • Saturday morning I worked in San Francisco as usual, then off to Lodi to hang with Kimmie since it was her birthday weekend. As our usual weekends together go, we spent the majority of our time watching random movies and talking over them, eating crap we probably should not be eating, and staying up way too late. Oh and she opened her presents from me right off the bat. She received a "One Up!" t-shirt (Super Mario Bros reference), the Back To The Future Trilogy and 12:01 starring one of her favorite actresses Helen Slater. So the first movie she tortured me with was 12:01. Jonathan Silverman was cute, and this just seemed like a cheesy sci-fi version of Groundhog Day. Only no Bill Murray anywhere. Next movie was Hiding Out starring the ever so cute Jon Cryer and Keith Coogan. Not a very original plot, typical 80s average high school I so wish I attended. Did you know Cryer's mom actually played the part of his aunt? Cool. Now I have Pretty Poison's "Catch Me I'm Falling" in my head again. That's my jam. It was Kimmie's turn to pick a movie again, and I had the fortune of finally viewing The Shining. The only thing scary about this movie was Shelley Duvall's wardrobe. Wow. Jack Nicolson was frightening too, but when is he not scary in some way? Okay he was awesome as The Joker in the first Batman and that's one of my favorite flicks but come on now. It was already way late when I decided to throw on one more movie before going to bed, and our 80stastic weekends wouldn't be complete without at least one Judge Reinhold movie. It was time for Roadhouse 66. They had some pretty interesting sex scenes going on. Not like I'm a big perv or anything but that was like "WOW". Very graphic. William Defoe was kinda hot in that greaser kinda way. Is it me or does he resemble a mountain lion? It's those teeth, he has fangs, those giant incisors. I think he did the voice of Mufasa in The Lion King, maybe I'm mistaken. I have prominent incisors too, I hope most of you find I look like a friendly member of the feline family. Not like that has anything to do with William Defoe, I'm just throwing that out there. After this we finally went to bed, well I tried. It was around 5am.
  • I'm going to tell you right off the bat I did not get enough sleep on Sunday morning. It took a LONG TIME to fall asleep (probably too much caffeine/sugar in my system), and when I woke up Kimmie was on the phone. When I woke up hours later she was still on the phone. I'm not mad at her, her apartment is small so she can't help it. I was also PMSing something serious and still getting over the stupid cold I had. So I woke up VERY BITCHY. Poor Kimmie. Her sister (we call her Mulletene) and niece Joyce came over to wish her a happy birthday, then we got back to our movie viewing. We started watching The Sixth Sense and the pizza came, but we almost didn't get it. They told me over the phone that they take cash and checks, so I wrote a check out for the dude. Well I'm from "out of town" so they had to call the manager and approve it, and I had to show the driver like 3 forms of I.D. It was nuts. Anyway getting back to the movie, it was pretty good. I've seen it before, and Haley Joel Osment's performance was remarkable. Bruce Willis was kinda creepy but he kinda resembles my boss so there's a reason right there. Then Kimmie and I had a long drawn out discussion about Demi Moore's choice in men and why Aston Kutcher is so annoying. It was fun. After this I put in a lovely number called Hard Promises starring William Petersen (Grissom from CSI) and Sissy Spacek. Oh yeah, and Mare Winningham. Early 90s cheese. It was a cute story and a few of the characters reminded me of folks from my own life. Petersen seemed to show off his butt a little too much in those jeans, and I found that a little disturbing. Well back when he had a butt, I guess. You'd never know if you watched CSI. Oh wow now people think I'm totally after Grissom's ass. This is going nowhere. We watched one more movie, and it was Kimmie's turn. One of Sissy Spacek's better movies, Carrie. How can anyone say that movie is scary whatsoever? Okay so at the end William Katt (Greatest American Hero) gets hit over the head with the blood bucket and dies, then the rest die brutally in a fire.. then she goes home and her crazyass mom is stabbed with like 5 knives then the house catches on fire and falls on them both. I must mention John Travolta was hot, and I don't really get why PJ Soles had that red hat on the whole time, even at the salon. By this time it was 9pm, and I made Kimmie watch Easy Money with me. The show is pretty good. I started watching weeks ago since I'm a Judge Reinhold fan (although he was credited last week and I guess his scenes were cut) and although he has a small part I enjoy the storyline. Plus the guy that plays Morgan is very hot. By this time I was way late for work and left, promptly getting stuck in Tracy amidst a buttload of construction. Eventually I got to work, here I am.
  • This week is the same old routine, for the most part. Lots of work, sleep, etc. Oh and they are finally doing work on my new room. The old carpeting got ripped out and there's fresh paint on the walls. Very pretty aqua I picked out a loooooooooooong time ago. I should be in there within weeks. Yes!!

drugs are my friend

  • Hey everyone. I'm just warning you I'm under the influence of some cold meds so I'm either writing something prolific or not making much sense at all. Let's see, what's goin on? Not too much. Wednesday morning I hit the gym after work, went home and did housework, then went to the dentist. My dentist is very quick and efficient. I got in there at 9:30am and was out by 9:45, no joke. All I had was 2 teeth filled. As soon as I got in the chair she numbed me up, drilled, filled and I was outta there. I have to go back in January to get some crowns done, how thrilling. After that I went home and slept. Later on that evening I went with Michelle to TGI Friday, it was tasty.
  • Late on Wednesday night I knew I was coming down with something, but it didn't seem to hit me until Thursday morning. Blowing my nose constantly, sinus pressure, headache, and a fever. Oh and I felt like I had been hit by a truck. I still had to work and get the grocery shopping done that morning, so I did. I ended up getting about 9 hours of sleep on Thursday which is awesome, thanks to generic Nyquil. I woke up on Thursday evening still in that sickness fog, but I forced myself to take a shower and make myself dinner, then come to work. I would have loved having the day off but it's hard to get people to cover the overnight shift. So here I am still way out of it. I did take a Sudafed PE Severe Cold tablet a few hours ago. It just makes me feel even more odd. I'm glad it no longer contains psuedophredrine, which is basically speed. I'm trying to watch the blood pressure and that's a big no-no. Right now everything is pretty hazy and I fell asleep for 10 minutes on the toilet a while ago in the bathroom. Hahaha.
  • At this point I'm not sure what the weekend will hold. I'm sure I'll work part-time in San Fran on Saturday morning. I think I may skip any activities for today so I can get some rest. I like rest. My bed is my friend. The End.

XOXOXOXO

Lisa

today im going to the dentist, whoopee

  • What's up my homies? It's the middle of the week, yo. Not a whole lot going on. I'm still recovering from the New Kids last weekend, and I posted a few versions of our pic with them here on Myspace. I look like such a giant nerd. Other than drooling over pictures, life's been pretty routine. Monday I worked, came home and ate dinner/edited my video, then came to my other work. Tuesday I did pretty much the same thing.
  • Today I'm actually hitting the gym after work and later on I have a dentist appointment. I get to have a few cavities filled. I figure by that point I will have been up for 20 hours straight and too tired to get nervous. Just shoot me up with lidocaine and I'll take a snooze while you drill and fill my teeth for 45 minutes, if it takes that long. My dentist is fairly fast. The second I show up in the waiting room they open the door and drag me in. No time to sit around and get paranoid. Haha.
  • So that's about it. I did finish making my video, but Youtube said it was too long. I'll try posting it on Myspace or Google later tonight. Toodles!

NEW KIDS ROCK!!

  • Yo yo yo! I'm back! I had the best weekend ever! This post is going to be LONG, I'm just warning you. I have a lot to talk about. Let's start out with Wednesday, since the last time I posted was early that morning. I didn't get much sleep that day at all. Dad had an appointment at the DMV to renew his license. We didn't have to wait in line long since he was in a wheelchair, which was a plus. He got a temporary license that expires in December, and he has to come back and take his written test before then. He could have taken the test right there but he was unprepared and I was exhausted. Michelle is studying to get her driver's license so they're both going over the handbook together. Later that day I worked at Traffic, got a few hours of sleep and came here.
  • Thursday was pretty busy. I got off work a bit early (thanks Brad) and Cathy drove me to Millbrae to pick up the special van from Wheelchair Getaways. It was a bit confusing finding out where exactly the place was and we kinda got lost, but eventually we found it. On a side note Fernando texted me asking if we were in the Greenhouse parking lot around 7am since he saw a car just like Cathy's hauling ass into the McDonald's drive thru. His assumptions were right, we got breakfast before we hit the road. LMAO. If you guys know Cathy, you know she has a lead foot. Hence why a few weeks ago she spent her Saturday in traffic school. Okay anyway I got the van and began my 2 hour trek from Millbrae back across the bay and on to Lodi. The commute wasn't really that bad at all. I got to Kimmie's house around 10:30 am and she wasn't ready yet. In fact we didn't leave until about 2 hours later. I wasn't mad or anything. I'm sure most of you know my pal Kimmie has cerebral palsy and lives independently, and it takes her three times as long to do everyday things like getting dressed, packing for a trip, etc. Plus her mom was there and overpacked way too much stuff she didn't need. I know she meant well and this was Kimmie's first major trip away from home, first stay in a hotel, first major concert. So with Kimmie's sister Carol driving, we took off for Sonora to visit their Uncle Freddie and Aunt Norma. The drive there took a few hours, and it was fun. Kimmie had a very random CD with lots of cartoon songs and the theme from Greatest American Hero, among other things. Kimmie's aunt/uncle's house was really nice. They are really nice down-to-earth people with a great sense of humor. We spent our time there watching a cheesy Lifetime flick about the guy from JAG losing his memory in a car accident and eating sandwiches that Aunt Norma made us. Fun time for all. We left around 5pm and made the almost 3 hour journey to San Jose with a stop in Oakhurst for gas, a pee break and snacks. Eventually we got to the hotel and were going to settle in our room, but the bathroom was too small. I had asked for a double bed room since Kimmie really didn't want to share a bed, but it wasn't handicapped accessible. We ended up getting our accessible room and shared a king sized bed, and all was okay. Carol had her own room on the floor below us. She pretty much left us alone since we were driving her up the wall with excitement and she needed a hot bath. Bedtime came around and I figured out how to properly use a lift to get Kimmie from her chair into bed. It was a great learning experience.
  • So we got up around 9:30am on Friday, the day of the SHOW OF THE CENTURY. I got Kimmie out of bed, hit the shower and we began getting ready ASAP. We wanted to leave the hotel by 3pm at the latest to allow time for traffic, getting out of the van, etc. The meet and greet was scheduled at 4:30pm sharp. (I almost wrote SHART.. ROTF.) It took us a while to get ready since Kimmie was bathing, getting dressed, etc while I was helping her get cards/notes/gifts ready for the various New Kids and making signs to hold up during the show. We were also donating $100 to the Betty Wood Breast Cancer Foundation so we were organizing that as well. Danny Wood lost his mom to breast cancer 9 years ago and that money goes to the American Cancer Society, great cause. Anyway, we actually got on the road a little bit ahead of schedule, parked in our free spot, and found the line for the 5 Star All Access VIPs. I ran across the street to Guadalupe River Park to go pee briefly, then came back and waited for about an hour. Oh and I reunited with my friend Marianne, she and I worked at Longs together a few years ago, she works in the pharmacy. Unfortunately she had to wait in the back of the line. Haha. Poor woman. Since Kimmie was in a chair we were pulled out of line along with another girl with cerebral palsy and taken through the building and downstairs through the elevator. We then had first dibs at souvenirs. I got a program book which I paid too much for, oh well. Then we got to sit at our tables at the little VIP party and eat finger foods, have some drinks, etc. Oh and we got free gift bags as well. A fleece blanket, a mug, postcards, a photo album to put pictures in. Pretty sweet. So eventually came the time to go meet the boys. We were in group B, which was awesome. As we got in line to see them, Kimmie got a little emotional. Okay very emotional, with tears streaming down her cheeks. She had waited 22 years to see her boys, and there they were on the other side of the curtain. Robo, the New Kids' bodyguard since the Hangin Tough days, noticed her and came over to hold her hand and console her. He felt so bad that he let us go to the head of the line, because Kimmie was a special priority. So finally, it was our turn to meet the New Kids, the chance of a lifetime I will never forget. We went through the curtain and there they were, just standing there smiling. We rolled in (well Kimmie rolled, I walked and Carol pushed) with me holding Kimmie's hand. All of a sudden my nerves went away. I gave Donnie a hug first, since he was my favorite. He's a great hugger. He was like "Hey girl!" Next was Danny. We hugged and smiled at each other but that was about all our interaction. Next I hugged Joey, who had just let go of Kimmie. He's like "Hey girl, how you doin?" in his Boston accent. So cute. He also smells VERY nice. After I let go of him, I noticed Jon standing by himself so I'm like "Hi JON!" hella loud like the excited dork that I was. He gave me a really long hug and was like "How are you?" and I was like "I'm GREAT!" I'm such a nerd. Then I saw Jordan standing there so I'm like "Hi JORDAN!" and gave him a bigass hug, then told him about how we saw him perform in San Jose last year. He was like "Oh cool." The song Tonight was playing out in the main room and he randomly started singing to his older brother on the other side of me. "Jon Knight!!.. Jon Knight!!" and doing some random dance. I love Jordan but I think he has some serious A.D.D. That man needs Ritalin. Then I noticed that Jon was trying to talk to Kimmie but she was starting to cry again and Jon's like "Why you cryin?" and she's like "I'm nervous" then he said "Awww why you nervous? You don't need to be nervous. We don't bite." and we all laughed. He also bumped his knee on her chair when he was squatting down for the picture and Kimmie apologized. He's like "It's okay." So we got our pictures taken, and when we were leaving I gave Jordan another hug, and Jon another hug, then Jon said "Have fun tonight, girl" and patted me on the head. He's so cute and nice. I think Jon is my favorite New Kid now. He's so shy. So we went back to our table in shock, ate more refreshments, and eventually left to go pee and find our seats. Our seats were totally awesome, in the 6th row. At first security was being mean about Kimmie transferring out of her wheelchair into a regular seat since if there was an evacuation, she'd be at risk, etc. She told them flat out that she waited 22 years and didn't pay all that money to sit up in the nosebleeds. Carol and I managed to get her into a seat, and there she sat for about 4 hours. The concert was AWESOME. Lady GaGa came on first and luckily only performed for like 15 minutes. She was dressed like some space age hooker and most of her songs made no sense. Next act was Natasha Bedingfield, and she rocked. She can sing. At 9pm, the New Kids finally came out. Their show was the best concert I have ever attended. EVER. About 90% of their songs were not from the new album. They all still can dance their asses off and get the crowd going. I could tell they were having a lot of fun and loved performing. They even came out for two encores. Amazing. After the concert was over I went to find Sandi, who sat in sec 110 with her friend Shannon from work. Sandi is a physical therapy assistant and has plenty of training with transferring folks to and from wheelchairs. The one obstacle we had was getting back on the floor to help Kimmie. Security was a royal pain in the ass. I understand it's their job since they were dismantling the stage, removing chairs and such. Still sucked. So we got down there eventually, got Kimmie in her chair and were escorted by security back upstairs. I do have to say security at the HP Pavillion is well organized, they treat their job like it's the secret service. "10-4 we have a wheelchair and 3 attendants in elevator A.. " LOL. So I briefly chatted with Sandi, then we got the heck outta there and headed for Denny's for some real food. I had french toast, it was good. When we got back to the hotel we decided to toast with some champagne, but I couldn't figure out how to open the bottle. Carol wasn't answering her phone (found out later she was surfing the Tookie wave.. lmao), so I went downstairs to the front desk barefoot at 3am so the guy could open my bottle. Haha. We had a very eventful day that I will never forget and didn't go to bed until like 4:30am.
  • Saturday we got up around 10am, I showered and started packing while Kimmie was getting ready. We didn't end up checking out of the hotel room until 12:30, then we headed to Pleasanton since I wanted to show Kimmie what Stoneridge Mall was like. It's fairly upscale, and she doesn't see Abercrombie and Fitch around her neck of the woods so I thought she would enjoy the experience. We did shopping, got Starbucks, Subway for lunch and headed back to Lodi. I didn't stay long since I had to get the van back to Millbrae by 8pm. I helped unload the van and I was on my way. I arrived in Millbrae, gassed up the van, returned it, and Cathy picked my booty up. Boy did I have stories to tell, but Cathy tried to shut me up/drown me out with the Ghostbusters II soundtrack. She knows me well. After I got home I put my stuff down and picked up Michelle and Dad, then brought them over to my place to celebrate Dad's birthday. He was turning 69. Cathy made an awesome chocolate cake, the same kind she made for my birthday. I gave Dad an "Army Veteran" hat and a camouflage Beanie Baby. He loved his presents. That's one thing I love about my family and what both my parents taught me, to appreciate even the small things and not be greedy. Both my parents grew up fairly poor so they know what it's like to not have nice things. Okay I'm digressing again. So I dropped them off at home, loaded pics on Myspace, and went to bed.
  • Sunday I slept in until about 11, then ate leftover zucchini for breakfast. Then I did some housework I needed to catch up on, took a shower, edited about half my New Kids Trip video and relaxed for a bit. Later in the afternoon I went with Michelle to the gym, then took her and Dad to dinner at Applebees's in Alameda, followed by Borders since Dad needed new reading material. I finally dropped them off at home, then went back to my place and watched some TV before I went to work. The second episode of Easy Money came on the CW, but I was disappointed since my movie boyfriend Judge Reinhold wasn't in it. He was credited though, maybe his scenes got cut, his role is pretty minor. Oh well, I think I'll be leaving Kimmie's house late next week so I can watch it before I drive home. Haha.
