My name is Judge..

  • The Lisa is back, and you know she can never be wack.. the Lisa is back, cuz you know she's the Lisaaaaaaaa.. (that's from a Fat Boys song in case ya didn't know) I am all kinds of tired, but I had an awesome weekend. Friday was hotter than a you know what, and after I got off work at Traffic.com I took Michelle and Dad to dinner at Red Robin so he could get out of the house. Then I went home and watched Friends with Cathy and went to bed.
  • Saturday morning I did my usual gig at KDFC. It was pretty cool, and we got a second coffee machine. This one does froofy drinks like mochas, french vanilla coffee, cappuccino and that kind of thing. I had a decaf mocha and it was tasty. Afterward I went back to the east bay, hit up Jamba Juice (the one at Bayfair is GHETTOTASTIC!), and headed off to Lodi.
  • I had so much fun at Kimmie's house, as I usually do. When I first got there she had several presents to give me for my bday. That woman always overdoes it with the gifts, but I'm used to it by now. Haha. First of all her mom gave me the most random gifts ever. A plastic toy gun that shoots marshmallows, and Cheech and Chong's Greatest Hits on cassette. What is some old white lady doing with Cheech and Chong tapes? ROTF. Okay Kimmie gave me a buttload of stuff. In Living Color season 1, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Highway To Heaven Season 1 (cheesetastic!), Christopher Reeve's book, Christina Crawford's second book (sequel to Mommie Dearest), and Sybil (the novel, not Sally Field movie). I have plenty of stuff to watch and read now, for sure. First movie we watched was the Richard Donner cut of Superman II. See about halfway through filming of the second movie they changed directors to some other dude who totally rearranged the film to it's cheesy theatrical release. Well this is the version the original director had in mind. It was pretty good. Then we ate dinner, a nice homemade dinner Kimmie made from scratch, on the good dishes and silverware. She also had a pink rose in a vase on the table. This meant a lot to me because my mom loved pink roses. We had a great pot roast, mashed potatoes, yummy veggies and croissants. For dessert we had new york style cheesecake with chocolate gnash (ga-nosh) on the top. It was FANTASTIC. Yes Cathy I brought some home if you'd like to try it. The next movie we watched was No Place Like Home starring Judge Reinhold, Richard Moll, and a cast of unknowns who later did random crap on the WB. To me it seemed like a bad cross between Kyle XY and E.T. Judge seemed like he was pissed the whole movie and didn't even try to act, either that or his character was very manic depressive. It was so bad it was hilarious. After that we watched Teen Wolf, then Coming Unglued, another bad Judge Reinhold movie also starring Joely Fisher. These Lifetime movie kings/queens seem to stick together, don't they? Haha. The acting wasn't so bad in this one, but the cheesy family movie background music was getting to be a bit much after a while. Next up was Mannequin, a staple for any 80s good time. Meshach Taylor as a flaming gay guy and hotass Andrew McCarthy are a great combo for fun. While we played Mannequin we played the 80s Game, and I whooped ass two games in a row. Then Kimmie showed me her work so far on the "project", and we called it a night.
  • On Sunday we ended up sleeping until almost 1pm, but we had gone to bed around 4am the night before. We started our day by ordering pizza and mozzarella sticks for brunch from Woodbridge Pizza and playing another round of the 80s Game while watching Stripes. Harold Ramis with an afro is hot. So is Judge Reinhold trying to smuggle drugs. Hey man, he was smokin hot in his mid 20s, mmmkay? After Stripes we decided to go for ice cream at Baskin Robbins (I had my free ice cream coupon.. haha). I had fudge brownie and Kimmie had pistachio. Yum. Then we had a random shopping spree at Walgreens. I found some $1 DVD with some TV movie of Ted Danson prosecuting a child molester. Now that's going to be interesting. I also picked up some makeup on sale, and some mugs you stick in the freezer to keep your drinks cold. Later on we got back to her place, and I went up to Subway to pick up dinner. I had a cold cut trio sandwich and apple slices, she had oven roasted chicken with Baked Lays. Then we watched 2 episodes of In Living Color (those Fly Girls with the biker shorts and push up bras are hilarious), and I had to skeedaddle outta there. I always have so much fun relaxing and having movie marathons.
  • Here's some phrases for the weekend.. "Tookie Williams!" "Moses cums on fire?" "duuuurrrrr I'm Teri Hatcher!!!!" "My name is JUDGE!" "Sniff my bag of apple blossom goodies." "Zoom in on my flat titties. My bra came up ladies and gents. Yes Kevin I had a sexy party without you." and "Look I'm Lois, I'll jump out the window! Wait! I can't jump! SHIT!"
  • Anyway, on the way back I got stuck in MAJOR traffic. I was in Tracy for over an hour. 205 was down to one lane due to construction and took forever to get through. Then I had to scramble home to go potty and grab a few things. I was about an hour late for work. I won't get in trouble, don't worry. I gave Victoria a ride home, and she gave me this huge cat condo that won't fit in her new apartment. Spencer's gonna love it. Well that's all for now. Boy I'm longwinded.

dude im old

  • I am back from my lovely bday off and I loved it. Did I go crazy? Not exactly. Wednesday morning I went to the gym then did the usual grocery parade with Michelle and Dad. Later on that evening we went to dinner at Marie Callendar's and had ice cream at Coldstone since I had a coupon. I am a coupon fiend as you all know, especially in this economy. I had the rest of the night off from work (thanks to Brad at Family Radio and Paul at Traffic.com for rearranging schedules!!!!) so I used my time wisely by watching bad Judge Reinhold movies. I am such a weirdo. I have more bad Judge movies coming via the good ol Pony Express but they haven't arrived yet. Hopefully I'll get at least one of the four this afternoon so I can bring it on Saturday to Kimmie's. If not I'll bring Stripes and that bad UFO one, girlie.
  • Thursday I slept in until about 11:30am and it was glorious. After barking at the Gateway people who need to send me restore CDs since mine are nowhere to be found, I ate yummy leftovers, picked up Michelle and went to the gym. Then I worked in Emeryville. Then I came home, said hi to Cathy's friend Amanda and made a bombass dinner. Then Cathy forced me to watch several episodes of Friends, and I watched a funny Dana Carvey special on HBO. Now I'm work and just read 6 chapters in 2 Kings. God telling people to massacre each other for varying reasons, folks being torn apart by dogs. Fun stuff.
  • I should have a fun weekend since I'm kickin it with Kimmie. I'm bringing my camera, God only knows what kind of pics/footage I'll have by Sunday night. Haha.
  • One more thing. Do you ever wonder if celebrities fart? I bet they do, but I wonder if they've ever ripped one at the Grammy's or anything? I bet the New Kids fart.. I should ask the New Kids On The Block about their gastrointestinal feats in October. Seriously. "Hey Joey Joe, do you toot on stage?" ROTF

go lisa, it's your birthday

  • Go Lisa, it's your birthday, gonna party like it's your birthday, drink Kahlua like it's your birthday, you know we don't give a &*$% it's not your birthday.. well it is!!!! WOOOT. I'm excited, although most of my festivities have already taken place. I'm 28 years young now. I'm trying to stay in a positive frame of mind even though this is my first bday without my mom. So much has changed over the past year, it's insane. I live in a different house, drive a different car, have a different cat, one less parent. I am so blessed to have great friends like you guys, seriously. I'm also blessed enough to have 3 jobs, and a very weird sense of humor. I'm blessed in so many ways.
  • FYI.. I won't be online tonight, I got the night off from all my gigs. I'm going to dinner with my folks and then I will have a nice well rested evening at home catching up on Scrubs DVDs. I think I deserve it. Okay I'll probably make my grocery list and go take a semi-nap here at work. You know.. sleeping but not really sleeping. One last thing before I leave..

"My name is JUDGE!"

Anyone seen that episode of Arrested Development? ROTF

woot there it is

  • What's up homies? It's almost my bday.. yay I'm old. Like all early Monday morning posts, I'll start this out with "I had an awesome weekend." I did.. really. I mean it wasn't monumentally mindblowing, but it was fun. Friday morning I got my car washed/detailed at Hutch's and went to breakfast with Michelle at Mimi's. I had some yummy breakfast burritos. Then we went to Bally and got Michelle all signed up, and renewed my membership. I was a little too exhausted (having been up about 20 hours and all) to work out at that point, so I went home and slept. I got up around 5:30pm that afternoon, with Cathy and Stuart screaming "Happy Birthday!!" in my face and nearly causing a coronary. I then had one of those situations where a small get together turns into a full fledged party. We ordered pizza, Amy came with her pal David (not Magical David, it was Heart Transplant David), Alisha showed up, then Fernando and Grace came with Joey. Joey is 15 months old and loves chasing cats and helping people unwrap presents. Around 9ish TJ went to bed because he's 28 going on 75. Fernando and Grace left around 10:30, then Jeff showed up. Everyone else seemed to leave around 11pm. The party wasn't over though. Davina got off work around 12:30am, and she and Lorie came around 1. We partied until 3am, and I got 3 hours of sleep. I got great gifts from everyone, including A LOT of lip balm from Cathy and Amy. Hmm I wonder why. Got some cash, AMEX gift card, Best Buy gift card, Jamba Juice gift card, some Doritos (haha), a porcelain Kermit the Frog figurine, Bert and Ernie action figures, Mad Libs, bubbles, and a stuffed Gizmo doll (from Gremlins). So yeah I made out like a bandit.
  • Saturday morning I woke up and had a slight hangover. I partied a lot the night before, as you can read above. Good thing I've been taking a Vitamin B supplement, that helped speed up my metabolism and get the poison out of my system. You guys know I don't party that often anyway, really. I worked at KDFC as usual and had fun like I always do. When I got back to San Leandro I hit the gym and worked it, y'all. I was jogging again, and it felt great. Then I went home and did major housecleaning, took a nap and Davina and I went to Claimjumper for supper. Man I love that place. Had some garlic bread, whiskey chicken dinner and we shared a brownie finale for dessert. I tried to pay but she wouldn't let me, so I decided to give the cute waiter a good tip. After going home for a potty break, we went to Target. I got all three Beverly Hills Cop movies on DVD. Davina almost got a bike but decided not to at the last minute. We ended up going back to my house and watching Beverly Hills Cop III. Excellent choice. She left and I started watching Gremlins but got tired about 20 min into it and called it a night.
  • Sunday morning I woke up and took a shower, picked up Michelle and went to church. It was a good sermon, mostly telling dudes to step up and take care of their families, a good Father's Day theme. Too bad most guys out there don't have this mentality anymore. After church Michelle and I hit the gym and worked it again. Cathy showed up and I wished I had my camera on me. All three sisters on treadmills pumping up the jam, it was awesome. If only Mom could have seen us. When I was done sweating my booty off we picked up Dad and went to Best Buy. He bought me seasons 1 and 2 of Scrubs, and I used a giftcard to get a few 80s CDs, along with The Offspring and P.O.D. For Father's Day I gave him a copy of The Sands Of Iwo Jima starring John Wayne, one of his favorites. Then we had a late lunch at In-And-Out Burger. So healthy, I know. Haha. Afterwards I went home and took a LONG nap, came to work and the rest is history.
  • I apologize to anyone who didn't come to my "party" on Friday night. I didn't intend for it to be a real party, but my sister invited people, I invited a person or two.. food came, booze poured, and yeah.. it happened. My schedule is pretty insane for the next week or two, but we should all hang out sometime. I'm addressing folks I haven't talked to in forever, you know who you are.

pre-bday weekend

  • Hey there homies. Thank god it's Friday! Whooo. The last few days of course haven't been monumental. Wednesday morning Michelle and I worked out, and got in contact with someone to set her up with a membership. We're going back this morning to get the paperwork done and stuff. Yes believe it or not I was jogging on the treadmill again. I'll try doing that again this morning, too. Yesterday I worked at Traffic.com, my usual gig. I'm working there A LOT next week. I'm insane, yes I know. When I see the check, I won't be disappointed I'll tell you that.
  • This weekend I don't have too much going on, really. Trying to keep things low key. After work this morning I'm picking up Michelle and getting my car washed/detailed. It needs it, trust me. Then we're doing breakfast at Mimi's Cafe since I have a $10 off coupon for my birthday. Take it from me, sign up for every single restaurant's E-club, and you get plenty of discounts. After a yummy meal, we're gonna go sweat it off at the gym and get our accounts set up. This evening I may have a couple people over for pizza, drinks, whatever. Cathy made me a cake from scratch. I didn't make a giant deal this year since I've been kinda melancholy about the whole thing. First birthday without my mom, it's hard. She's with me in spirit, for sure.
  • Saturday I've got the KDFC gig, then hitting the gym. Later on in the evening Davina and I have a heterosexual date for dinner at Claimjumper. Haha. If you wanna cheat and eat lots of giant portions of fattening food, that's the place to do it at.
  • Sunday is church, and Dad wants to take me to Best Buy so he can buy me some DVDs for my bday. He can't go crazy like Mom used to do when she took me shopping, but he still wants to get me something. He means well. Of course he didn't even know that my birthday is next week until Michelle told him. I'm not offended, because even when he still had his marbles he never remembered any of our birthdays or how old we were anyway. I asked him how old he thought I was and he said 22. This was a few days ago. Haha.
  • Well, I'm gonna go half doze and rock out to Huey Lewis and The News. Adios, mis amigos!

she must be somebody's baby

  • What's up, my peeps? Not much here. I always say that but then once my brain starts flowing I write about 3-4 paragraphs. Oh well. Let's see what's been going on? I worked Monday night at Traffic.com. That was fun. Then I worked here later on. I had a really bad tummyache and barfed for the first time in over a year. No I didn't eat any tomatoes.
  • Then yesterday I slept, got up and took my dad's dog to the vet to get his shots, went home and fell back asleep. It was very enjoyable, I needed the rest. I woke up around 6:30pm, took a shower, made dinner, and watched a few movies. It was an enjoyable evening. First Cathy had put on Son In Law, and I got bored about 3/4 of the way through it. Then I realized the cable was out and TJ had mentioned it was out most of the day. I called Comcast and was on the phone with them for about 30 minutes. They concluded that my cable box is defective, and a dude is coming by this afternoon to replace it and make sure all is well in digital cable land. I was still bored afterward so I put on Fast Times At Ridgemont High. I almost wrote Ridgemont Thigh. ROTF. Anyway, y'all know I have a fat crush on Judge Reinhold especially when he's playing Brad Hamilton and he's got a cute butt while washing his car. I need to get this on DVD Special Edition so I can pause and get some nice screencaps. I only have it on VHS. Sad I know. After the movie I grabbed food for work and came here. Exciting.
  • This morning after work I'm picking up Michelle, we're going to Bally and I'm getting a new membership for myself and her. Mine lapsed over a month ago and I need to get back in my workout routine. Michelle needs to go desperately, and Mom was always encouraging her to lose weight so this should help. If I take her to the gym, she will go. After exercising we're doing the weekly Walmart/Lucky run, which is also thrilling. Then home to wait for the cable guy and sleep. That's about it, folks.

some like it hot and some burn when the heat is on

  • I'm baaaack. Yeah it's only been 3 days since my last blog update, but oh well. I'm in a really good mood. Not sure why. Maybe it's because I'm working 55 hours this week instead of 63 like last week or 70 a few weeks back. Could also be the pretty fun weekend I just had, despite the extreme lack of sleep on Friday/Saturday.
  • Let's see on Friday evening I went to dinner with Michelle at Marie Callender again. I seem to be addicted to their cornbread. Oh well. I worked later on that evening here as a favor for Yuriy. I spent a good deal of my shift half asleep, and watching My Girl. Saturday I went to Live 105's BFD with Davina, Cathy, Amy, and Mikey. It was pretty fun. Fun yet exhausting. I was running on about 2 hours of sleep, still had bronchitis and it was pretty hot. I did a lot of dancing and got a fake panda tattoo on my neck from some creepy guy who kept caressing my hair and tried to bite me. Video will be uploaded soon. Oh wait duh.. don't know if I mentioned it but my computer is at Best Buy being fixed.. it does have spyware issues and a virus, so I'll get it back in a week or two. I could have just had the hard drive wiped but I have pictures of my mom on there and stuff, so I'd rather have them take their time restoring it. Getting back to the BFD subject, it was tons of fun. We left pretty early, around 6pm due to exhaustion and Davina's bad reaction to her nachos. I'm sure she's stoked that I'm sharing her potty adventures. We went to In-And-Out after that for dinner (yes I'm bad), got gas in Menlo Park and headed home. I collapsed into bed around 8pm after doing random housework first.
  • Sunday morning I opted not to go to church so I could get more rest. I slept about 12 hours total. I finally roused myself out of bed, did some dishes and mopped some floors. Then I took a shower, picked up Michelle, and bought my new bike at Target. It's a Tony Hawk "ANGRY" model. I'm not an angry person, but it was the coolest bike there. I need to adjust the seat then I can ride it. I'm excited. We watched TV for a few hours, then I took Michelle and Dad to Red Robin for dinner. Dad paid. Thank god. I'm not exactly broke anymore, but I just paid LOTS of bills, bought NKOTB tickets and a new bike. So yeah, trying to watch the fundage. That's my weekend in a nutshell, folks. I hope the rest of my week goes pretty smooth and I pray that I'll get enough sleep.
  • P.S. Manny I'm praying for you. I know you're going through a very rough time and I don't want you to ever think I still don't care about you. :-)

Friday, June 06, 2008

YAAAAAAAY

  • What's goin on, my peeps? Not much here. Well not much thrilling anyway. I've been working my tooshy off, and I finally got enough sleep yesterday. Eight hours of glorious rest, I loved it. I should get enough sleep today, when I get to. I'm going to breakfast with Leeanne after work, going walking with Michelle, then taking her and Dad to get medical supplies for him, and I need to drop off my computer at the Geek Squad there in Union City. I gotta work tonight, I'm filling in for Yuriy the weekend guy which is kind of a bummer, but I volunteered for it before I got my third job and was stretched for money. Oh well, 8 hours of OT will be coming my way soon. Saturday I'm going to BFD with Davina, Cathy and Amy. I'll be running on almost no sleep, but I don't work that night so I'll be alright. At the worst I'll ask Davina to drive on the way home.
  • Oh yeah in case I didn't mention, Kimmie and I, along with her sister Carol and our pal Cara, are going 5 star VIP to see New Kids On The Block on October 10th when they play in San Jose. I'm so excited and still amazed that I was able to get the passes before they sold out. Yes I'm pretty much paying up the wazoo, but to be able to tell folks what Donnie Wahlberg smells like is well worth it. Yeah I'm that weird.
  • Oh and I keep having this reoccuring dream that a young Judge Reinhold is a teacher at my high school (and I'm back in the 90s again apparently), and I keep flunking tests and skipping homework just so I can stay after class and get "help". I have a VERY overactive imagination, don't you think? That and I just changed my desktop here at work to a hot picture of Don Johnson circa 1986. Oooh baby.

Whooo I'm gonna MEET THE NEW KIDS!!! Rick Astley is hot too, Corey Haim, and Kirk.. oooh la la!

Whoo he was hot from Fast Times to Beverly Hills Cop III.... then he got old. He's still awesome, but not as hot. Hey in 10 years I'll be not so hot either.

Wednesday, June 04, 2008

oh the joy

  • What's goin on, homie G's? Not much here. Work, work and more work. I'm getting about 6 hours of sleep a day, so I'm not exactly exhausted. I agreed to work another shift this afternoon as a favor for my boss in Emeryville, and it's more money for me. I will definitely get decent sleep on Thursday.. well I hope. Thursday morning we're doing the grocery run, getting crap from a medical supply store in Hayward, and after I put all that away I'm gonna drop off my computer at Best Buy for the Geek Squad to debug, etc. I know several of you will go "What's wrong with the computer? Maybe I can help." Well um my internet connection is fine according to Comcast, but my computer won't recognize that. Also, I tried reinstalling Windows XP, and it asked for my admin password. I never created a password. So um yeah I think I have a virus. For the past day or so the computer has been off and will remain so until I can get it to a computer physician.. i.e. the Geek Squad. I'd rather pay a few hundred to fix it versus buying a new computer. With all this being said, maybe on Friday I'll get enough sleep. *sigh*
  • Oh yeah, other small bundles of stress. Can't buy VIP tix for NKOTB until today at 7pm. Fortunately I'll be at work and online, so don't worry Kimmie. I'm crossing my fingers. Regular tix go on sale at Ticketmaster for general public on the 9th. Oh and I never got my BFD tix in the mail, but I straightened it out with Ticketmaster, my tix will be at will call at The Shoreline on Saturday to pick up. Good lord I got so much crap on my plate.
  • Oh one more fun thing. I have yet another sinus infection. Had the sore throat yesterday morning, woke up in the afternoon with lots of yellow snot pouring everywhere. I've been feverish all day (since I woke up at 1:30pm yesterday) and I've had nice headaches. I only get headaches when my sinuses act up. My last doctor said I have chronic sinusitis because my sinus cavaties are very small. He's probably right. Anywhoo, all I can do is try to get enough sleep and pray for the best.
  • I do enough complaining lately, don't I? LOL

back on the grind

  • What's crackin my homies? I'm back from my weekend. It was nice and relaxing, thank god. Friday afternoon I worked at Traffic.com, then went to dinner at Marie Callender's with my dad and Michelle. It was really yummy. Afterwards, I went home and watched Back To The Future with Cathy and TJ.
  • Saturday I worked my normal shift at KDFC, then took Michelle and Dad to the Cherry Festival there in San Leandro. It was fun just walking around and visiting various booths. The overpriced funnel cake was okay too. Then I stopped by Target to pick up new earphones, since the ones I had only worked in one ear, and homey don't play that. Next stop was Barnes and Noble, where everyone browsed for about half an hour, and Dad picked up a few new Tom Clancy novels. Then we drove down to Claimjumper, where I had made reservations. The food there is always awesome, although it's crowded/noisy. Dad didn't like all the commotion around him, but he loved his mashed potatoes and ice cream sundae. I had a turkey burger with salad and some garlic bread. I think Michelle had chicken and noodles. Then I went home and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, a little TV, and went to bed around 11.
  • Sunday morning I woke up, picked up Michelle, and went to church. The message was about tithing, not my favorite topic but I sat through it anyway. Afterwards Michelle, Davina and I decided to go for lunch at Sweet Tomatoes in Pleasanton. Similar to Fresh Choice only much better. Man it was yummy. Then we went to Stoneridge Mall and walked around shopping for an hour or so. I got a new shirt and wristband at Hot Topic (used the last of that giftcard, Amy) and a shake at Haagen-Dazs. Oh man that was good. Then I went home and took a LONG nap, and here I am. Yay.
  • This week my schedule is busy, but not as bad as last week. 58 hours, not 70. I'm working an extra shift here Friday night, I volunteered for it long before I got hired at the third gig. I'll be TIRED for BFD on Saturday, but oh well. Speaking of BFD, I don't think I've gotten my tix yet. I doubt I threw them away. If I don't see them by Wednesday, then I'm worrying. Oh yes, and I'm trying to get VIP tix for NKOTB this morning, gotta set my alarm clock for that. I fear I'm not getting much sleep the next few days. Oh well, what can I do?

Friday, May 30, 2008

im no supergirl

  • What's up homies? Me again. I am like way burned out at this point. I'm so glad my schedule is back to normal next week. Whew. I think I'm actually more exhausted because of outside sources, not my working so much. I'm tired, but everyone seems to stress me out even more on top of it. Family stuff, worries/requests about upcoming concerts. etc. Sometimes I just want to scream out of frustration for everyone to leave me alone and just let me be. This weekend I need some serious relaxation. I'm taking Michelle and Dad to the Cherry Festival on Saturday afternoon and then to dinner, so that should be fun. What I truly need right now is a good 8 hours of sleep. This morning I'll sleep about 6 hours and work in the afternoon. That won't be so bad. I can catch up on my beauty sleep this weekend for sure.
  • I'd like to apologize to anyone I've snapped at this week out of crankiness. It's about that time of the month *cough cough* plus I'm sleep deprived and everyone is asking me for a favor, lately. I love all you guys very much and you know I'd give you my left boob if you needed it, but believe it or not I am not Supergirl, unlike Kimmie who is. I think sometimes I expect too much of myself and push myself hard. Then others see me as a superhero of sorts with the mentality of "Oh well, Lisa will do it.. she'll help.. " with whatever task they need assistance with. Sometimes I just need downtime. I don't want to think about upcoming things that may or may not cause me my head to explode. I like living my life one day at a time, not letting myself worry about what may or may not happen. This calls for some Coke Zero and jammin 80s hits. Good thing I brought my Zune player. Have a great weekend, peeps!

Snoozarooni..

  • Hey there homie G's. What's crackin? Not much on this end. I'm TIRED. Seriously. I got about 6 hours of sleep yesterday, and today I'll get 3-5. This is because I "have to get Dad to City Hall" this morning.. well at least my sister Michelle proclaims. Basically I'm taking them there, and sleeping in the car the whole time. Then I'm going home to sleep what little bit that I can. Later on I'm working at Traffic.com, then I'm taking Michelle to do grocery shopping. Then I get to put away my food and go to work. Good thing I can half doze off here. So if any of you guys IM me while I'm here and I'm not exactly responsive, remember I'm probably taking a quick snoozarooni. I still wake up if something goes wrong, but if it's something online and I know it is.. I'll be like "Oh heck no" and ignore it. No offense, guys.
  • Next week my schedule will be much better. Praise God for that one. Sorry this blog is so short but I'm pooped. Okay now I'm gonna half doze and watch Spenser For Hire.. I found an ep with Dr. Cox from Scrubs playing a boxer, it's amusing. He has some jammin 80s hair.

Monday, May 26, 2008

Hey yall

  • Hey y'all, I'm back. When I say "Hey y'all" I feel like Paula Deen from the Food Network. Have you ever seen that Youtube video where it looks like she's constantly farting? It's great. Anyway, I had a pretty good weekend. Friday morning after working here I did some training at Traffic.com, then slept at home until about 6pm. Then I took Michelle to dinner at Carrows, she had coupons. I had the chicken tacos, they were pretty yummy.
  • Saturday I did the KDFC gig, then went home and took care of some housework. Davina called, and I met her at the gym. We really didn't work out together, but I got one heck of a buzz while on the treadmill. I actually jogged. Yes you are reading correctly, I jogged. It was awesome. I haven't jogged since high school. I can barely walk at the marina, but I think it may have to do with uneven pavement. I can jog on a treadmill, I'm so amazed at myself. My gym membership is technically expired, but I may sign up on Cathy's plan as a family member, and we're trying to get Michelle on as well. I'd get much more of a workout at the gym compared to walking in various outdoor places. After my workout I stopped by Fernando's house to water his plants, then went home and relaxed the rest of the day. I had quite a few drinks which I'm not proud of, but I had a great time. Amy came over, and we played Uno. Oh yeah, Cathy was there too. She practically lives at my house, but most of you know that already. Amy got tired and left around 11pm, then Alisha and Jeff showed up. Alisha played Uno with us for about 3 hours, it was pretty fun. TJ's other pal Jason came by for a bit as well. At 2am Sesame Street came on Sprout (digital cable channel), so of course everyone around me was partying, and here I am watching Bert sing about how sheep made his blanket. I'm so weird. I ended up going to bed around 3am or so.
  • Sunday morning I should have gone to church. Michelle actually was interesting in going. I made a bad decision and decided to sleep in. I slept A LOT. I'm working 70 hours this week between all 3 jobs (mostly because of the holiday, plus my boss at the new gig is going out of town and asked me to work extra days), so I thought it would be a good idea to sleep as much as possible when I can. I did get up at like 2pm, showered, ate a salad, went for a walk, and watched TV until Sandi arrived. Then she and I went to go see Rush of Fools with Group 1 Crew at Celebration Hall in Santa Rosa. Both groups were AWESOME. Seriously. I know hip hop isn't Sandi's thing, but even she was rockin out to Group 1 Crew. Rush Of Fools was amazing, and we watched from right in front of the stage. May I mention that Wes the lead singer is HOT? I have 2 pics with him. We ended up meeting all the members of Rush Of Fools, and I met Group 1 Crew and got a pic with them as well. I'll have them up in a day or two. Due to crazy work scheduling, I'm barely squeezing in sleep tomorrow, but I should have time to post stuff on Tuesday evening. Yes I'm insane.

Oh yeah.. here's a very poorly produced Judge Reinhold homage I made on Saturday afternoon. I taped stuff off Youtube with my camera and edited it with Windows Movie Maker. Primitive, and yes I have issues..

Oh yeah.. here's Paula Deen and her fake farting.. I'm sorry but I love strategically placed fake farts.

just for the taste of it..

  • Hooray it's Friday! After working 12-16 hours a day nearly all week, I am so glad. Oh yes, I think some of you guys are curious as to what my third job is. To those that don't know, I'm an editor/producer at Traffic.com. The title sounds fancy, but I just get traffic information from the CHP (California Highway Patrol) and other info sources and put it on the website. I've been training there all week in the mornings. Next week I'll start working afternoon shifts. I'm excited and my coworkers are pretty nice and laid back.
  • Nothing that exciting has been going on besides working my patooty off. I get up, shower, grab food, work, sit in traffic then work at my other job, sit in more traffic, come home, feed the cat and go to bed. Then I wake up and do the same thing over and over again. Luckily my schedule will calm down in about a week so it won't be as monotonous.
  • This weekend I don't have too much planned. I am going to go see Rush Of Fools/Newsboys with Sandi on Sunday night. That will be fun, for sure. I haven't really listened to any of their music to be honest, but I love Christian rock so there's no doubt I'll have a blast.
  • One more thing, don't you hate it when you get paid, then you figure out your bills, then you have almost no money left? I just got paid yesterday, but 90% of it is going towards my rent check I have to send in a little over a week. I also just made a credit card payment, I owe my dentist some money, I just bought gas ($42 to fill up my tank) and got my oil changed/tires rotated. My second job pays me next week but I'll only get like $50, that's gas money essentially. I'm not even in the system at the third gig yet so I probably won't get paid until June. ARRRGH I love money. Being a responsible adult sucks sometimes. Okay now that I've given myself a headache I'll end this blog on a happy note with a random 80s commercial.

I couldn't help it, I was sitting here drinking Diet Coke and that song totally popped in my head. I love my 80s! God bless Youtube.

My name is Lisa and I'm a workaholic

  • What's up homies? Not much here. Well not much interesting stuff anyway. I've just been working my booty off nonstop. Sunday night I worked 12 hours, then worked almost 4 more hours training at the new gig. Then I went home and slept over 9 hours. I'm sure you can understand why. Monday night I worked my usual 8 hours and worked 4 more at the new gig again. Can you see a pattern?
  • This morning I actually have time to go walking, get my oil changed, then take Michelle and Dad on our usual weekly errands. Next week I don't know how I'm going to arrange things, since I'm working all freakin week. Oh lordy lord. In about 2 weeks or so, my schedule should be a little more normal, thank god.
  • Other than working way too much, there's not really a whole lot on my mind. Kimmie and I have been working on a project about the New Kids, it's taking longer than expected. I feel bad, since I wish I had more time to contribute towards it. I did do a lot of camera work that weekend when I was at her house, but still.. Oh well she knows I'm kinda tied up right now.
  • That and tonight is Sandi's graduation from Sacramento City College. Congrats girlie! I'd go up there for the ceremony, but I'm not getting in bed until like 1pm. I'm slightly burnt out so I'm trying to sleep as much as humanly possible. Thanks for understanding.
  • Okay well off to eat some celery, listen to Metallica, and do surveys and such. Oh yeah, my boss here is out of town until July for some Air Force Reserves thing.. so party central! Just kidding.. kind of. :-)

im a busy woman

  • Howdy folks. I'm back from a pretty laid back weekend. Why am I blogging so early you may wonder? I'm working a 12 hour shift here at Family Radio (Victoria took the day off since she ran Bay To Breakers today and is exhausted). When I get out of here at 7am, I'm working at my new gig from 8am to noon. It's training actually, but I'm still getting paid. Yes I'm insane. Actually, I agreed to work this long shift long before getting hired at the third job. Oh well, more money for me.
  • Let's recap the weekend, shall we? I got out of Traffic.com after 1pm, and didn't get in bed until about 2pm. I got an offer to go to dinner and a movie with Sandi, but I was HECKA tired so I opted on sleep. Well that was my plan anyway. Then Davina called and wanted to go exercise later on that evening. I told her I wasn't sure, since I was exhausted. Finally, Michelle called, saying Dad was suffering from heat complications and needed to get out of the house, etc. Of course I'd only had 4 hours of sleep. Kind of, since I kept getting woken up. So I opted on helping my folks since they're my first priority (besides work). I got up, showered, and took Michelle/Dad to Red Robin at Newpark Mall, then we went back to my house while Dad watched Animal Planet. I love my family to death, but I sometimes wish they'd understand that I need rest too.
  • Saturday I worked at KDFC in the morning as usual. I actually had some busy work to do, so it was fun. Then I came home and did some housework, and went walking for a while around the neighborhood. Afterwards I took over the TV in the living room. I watched a little of Ghostbusters II that was on Spike TV, then watched Little Giants with the commentary from the director and the girl who played Icebox. I love that movie. Probably because I love Rick Moranis. Soon I went to Victoria's apartment for some pizza. Brad was there too. We had fun, and sort of a farting contest. Then I went back to my place and played Uno with Cathy and Amy while having a few drinks. I needed to unwind. We finally called it a night around 11pm.
  • This morning I woke up refreshed after 9 hours of sleep, then showered and had a donut for breakfast. Blame TJ. Then I went to church. I love church, well the worship time the most. The sermons aren't too boring, but I enjoy singing/clapping more than sitting still for 3o minutes. After church Davina and I went to Chilis for lunch. I ate pretty healthy. Next we went walking at the marina. I tried my best to powerwalk and get a good cardio workout since I won't have many exercise opportunities this week. I'm working almost 70 hours, I just calculated. Don't worry, this won't be the norm.. in a few weeks my schedule will go down to 55 hours or so. That's nothing for me. Anyway, later after the marina I went home and napped for 3 hours, and now I'm blogging at work, listening to one of my buddy Denny's podcasts. He's playing a lot of country for some reason. Interesting.

its getting hot in here..

  • Hey there homies. Not too much important stuff going on. I went walking yesterday morning, and I'm going today. My ankles/legs still hurt, but oh well. That's life. I'm going to start training for my third job on Friday morning. I'm pretty excited. I hope I don't screw up at it. They asked me to work a lot of hours next week to fill in for someone, so my schedule's going to be kinda nuts. Like it's totally normal now, right?
  • I'm going to try to have a nice relaxing weekend. Friday night I may hang out with friends, or just stay home and chill. Saturday morning I'm working in San Fran, and that evening I'm going to Victoria's place to pig out on pizza. Sunday is church, housework and relaxation. Relaxation.. that's what I need the most of.
  • Oh yeah, here's a video I made with footage from my awesome Great America concert trip last Saturday. There's a lot of Family Force 5, but they're one of my favorite bands. I can't help it.

wow it's like I wrote a novel

  • Hey there homie G's. It's me again. I'm back from my totally awesome/insane weekend. This is going to be LOOOOOONG. Just thought I'd warn you. I haven't uploaded pics/video just yet, since I pretty much came to work straight from Lodi, with a 5 min stop to my house to pick up some grub. Anyway, here goes. Friday morning I went to Denny's for breakfast with Leeanne. It was grubbin. Then I went home and took a 2 hour nap, then took Michelle/Dad to Sebastopol to put flowers at Mom's grave for Mother's Day since I was going to be out of town on Sunday. It was emotional since her plaque/headstone thing was actually there, and it's a giant dose of reality hitting you in the face, just in case you somehow forgot someone you love is dead. Anyway, bittersweet times up in Sonoma County, and I had a Chicken McNuggets Happy Meal for lunch [apple slices, not fries.. :-)]. I finally got back home around 4pm, and I slept the rest of the evening away. I got up at 10pm and pondered fixing a very late dinner, but I was way too tired so I just slept until morning.
  • Saturday I went to Spring Celebration at Great America with Sandi. We got there around 9:20am and had to wait forever to get in the gate and park the car. Then we had to wait 15 minutes to get into the park. I was really excited once we made it inside, because I took my picture with Spongebob Squarepants!! Then we went potty and made it over to Top Gun.. oh I'm sorry it's called Flight Deck now. Whatever. Now this was one of the few low points of my day. We only had to wait about 2 minutes to get onto the ride.. but my fat ass couldn't fit in the harness. Look I know I'm chunky.. okay fat.. but damn. The belt thing could barely buckle. If the attendant pushed the harness hard enough I could have squeezed in. This was proved later on another ride. Anyway, it was embarrassing to get off because I couldn't fit, and have everyone stare at me. Plus some other attendant's like "Oh you didn't fit?" way too freaking loud. Gee thanks lady. Although I was humiliated/bummed, I didn't let it ruin my great day. We soon got over to the Vortex, and I was a bit skeptic about going on that one. I already had one embarrassing situation, I didn't need another. I got in line anyway, and miraculously, the attendant squeezed me into my harness. Well gave it a nice extra tug anyway. I got to ride, and it was great. Next was the The Demon, one of my faves. No harness probs on that one. Next we attempted The Grizzly which I love, but the seatbelt was way small. Okay I've had the same pants size for the last 10 years, and all of a sudden I can't fit in that seatbelt on the ride. What gives man? Ugh. I didn't feel that bad since two Samoan looking dudes had to get off the ride as well. Then I made Sandi get on Psycho Mouse and that was great. Ironic how I can get on a kid's coaster and not the best one in the park. Anyway, after that we went on Centrifuge and I took some cool video. It'll be on the Great America compilation I'll try to work on in the next day or two. After we got off the ride while searching for the Loggers Run, I ran into Chucky/Angelica from Rugrats, hugged them and took pictures. I was too old when Rugrats was popular plus I didn't have cable, but you all know how I feel about anyone in a costume. It was cute. We found Loggers Run and got pretty wet, then got drenched on Rip Roaring Rapids. I'll have to agree with Sandi and say that's my favorite ride in the park. Always has been. Spraying people is even more fun. We got some people good. Soon it was lunch and funnel cake time. Yeah I was bad, but hey it's Great America.
  • We finally got into the Redwood Amphitheater right before Family Force 5 came on. That is one of my favorite bands, lemme tell ya. I'm so glad I finally got to see them live. They were rockin. I took way too many pictures of them, and plenty of video. Sandi took video of me too, headbanging to the music. After their set I waited 45 minutes and was able to get them to autograph a poster. I got a hug from Phatty (who said he saw me headbanging in the first row and thought I was awesome), Chap Stique, and Soul Glow Activator. Soul Glow posed for a picture as the mean security lady screamed "No pictures!" at Sandi and grabbed her arm. Soon afterwards we got back to our seats and watched the last half of Hawk Nelson who also rocked. Next was Barlow Girl. I really like them, I think I'll download some of their music. Then Mark Stuart from Audio Adrenaline came on as a guest speaker and told an awesome poop story. Just remember when God doesn't want you to do something, you crap your pants. Words to live by. When Mark was done we met him, Sandi got autographs on some pics she had, and we both posed for pics. He's really a nice guy. Cute, but married. Bummer. We got back to our seats for Kutless, and they rocked. Soon Switchfoot came on, the last act of the night. I love a lot of their music. This part of the concert sucked, even though Switchfoot was rockin. As soon as they came on, hundreds of stupid tweens/teens rushed the stage, and decided to dance right in front of us. We were in the front row. Yes the FRONT ROW. Halfway through their set, security finally started checking tickets and they went back to their seats. Then, the lead singer decided to go out into the audience, and the kids went berserk again. So we had to deal with these screaming kids jumping up and down, and some of them really needed Right Guard. Good lordy. The concert ended, and we went out to the parking lot. I was bushed and my feet were hurting, so I decided to change into my flipflops that were in my trunk. May I add that all the stupid kids from the concert were convening there in the parking lot and acting like idiots. Screaming, hanging out their windows. Well a car full of them decided to yell at me and call me a whale then a walrus as I was changing shoes. That hurt my feelings. How can it not upset me? I know I'm fat, I couldn't fit on two rides, I feel very unattractive/not pretty a lot of the time and they had to just add their little 15 year old humor to the fire. Ugh. Some of you may read this and think "Oh well, kids are kids." You know what? This was a "Christian" rock concert. Christians do not behave like that. Jesus wouldn't call some fat girl a walrus. Plain and simple. Just pissed me off. We got the heck out of there and went to Applebee's, where we both had salad. Then I headed off to Lodi to spend the next few days with Kimmie.
  • This is turning into a novel, isn't it? I'm only like halfway done, seriously. So I got to Kimmie's late on Saturday night, and went off about what had transpired at Great America. I needed to vent. Then we did a little work on the New Kids project (top secret.. lol), and watched a second season episode of Wonder Woman guest starring Ed Begley Jr. He is such a dork. I think after that we both called it a night.
  • On Sunday I woke up to Cinnamon Toast Crunch and coffee, and we watched 4 episodes of The Smurfs. I had a strong desire to punch Brainy Smurf in the head by that point. Then we went to Kimmie's niece Joyce's 12th birthday party. It was fun. Their family is interesting, to say the least. We ate nothing healthy at all. Hot dogs, chips/dip, cake/ice cream. Yummy. I'll have pics up of that, don't worry. We came back home, and did a little more work on the project. We had Subway for dinner. I got a turkey sandwich, and apple slices instead of chips. I then subjected Kimmie to Beverly Hills Cop II. Judge Reinhold plays such a lovable goof. We worked more on the project, and I crashed around 11pm while Kimmie kept on working diligently. I feel guilty for doing that, but I was exhausted.
  • Monday we woke up around 9am, had coffee and a few cookies to tide us over before IHOP. Oh man when we got to IHOP I had stuffed french toast topped with cinnamon apples. I'm bad. I also had eggbeaters and hash browns. Could have been worse. Then we went to Walmart and I got Hot Shots/Hot Shots Part Deux (then later found out Cathy already had it), a scented candle and a magnetic photo frame. Then we came back to Kimmie's place and did more work on the project. Carol (Kim's sister) came over and helped, then later on Joyce and her mom Mt Rushmore came over and helped a bit, as we watched Howard The Duck. That movie is really funny. Oh yeah, we were bad and had Baskin Robbins. Okay so three hours later I returned my Hot Shots movies at Walmart, and picked up dinner from Wendys. I had a chicken club sandwich and a salad. Then we did even more project work and watched Problem Child. That's about it in a nutshell. I had a fun yet eventful weekend. I probably left out tons of stuff Kimmie, so add as much as you want.
  • Random quotes that I can remember.. "I never thought I'd say this, but I want John Lithgow.".. "If Joe turned into a duck, you would help him right?"... "When God doesn't want you to do something, you shit your pants.".... "She's not fat, she's a national monument.".... "This scenario would totally make some bad lesbian porn movie. Why do we keep getting in these awkward situations?".. "Sorry, but I gotta poo.".. "Niiiiiiiiiice.. ".... "I'm sorry but if I'm walking in some alley, and both Jeff Goldblum and Whoopi Goldberg pop up out of some garbage can, I'm running.. because Robin Williams is probably nearby." Kimmie add more that you can think of. LMAO

my weekend will be fun

  • Hooray the weekend is finally here. Yes the next 4 days or so will be filled with fun and excitement. Right now I'm pretty darn tired, but that's because I didn't get much sleep yesterday. I won't get a lot of sleep today either. I'm going to breakfast with Leeanne, taking a nap at home for a while, then taking Michelle/Dad to Sebastopol to put flowers on mom's grave for Mother's Day. I'm sure I'll sleep later on, but I'm bushed. It's also hard to sleep with my stress level anyway.
  • Let's see on Saturday I'm going to the Spring Celebration at Great America with Sandi, then going out to Lodi later that night to hang out with Kimmie on Sunday/Monday. I won't get back home until Monday night, and I have just enough time to grab food for work before coming here.
  • Oh yeah I haven't officially passed my background check and they're putting me on the schedule for the 20th. At my third job that is. I don't mind though. It pays well and I think I'll be able to catch on to things rather quickly. I hope. I always doubt myself and act like a retard whenever I start at a new job, but oh well.
  • Oh yes and to add to my stress we're having legal issues with changing names over on some of my mom's things.. so we get to hire a lawyer. The good times just keep on coming, don't they? I smell probate, and it's not pretty. We went through all this probate crap when my grandma died, and boy did it suck. Everyone do yourself a favor and write a will. Get it notarized. Don't cross things out and write in the margins. That kind of screws things up. Don't assume that you can just change your name on a deed to your husband's name. It doesn't always work that way. *sigh*
  • Well, I can't think of anything else to talk about. I'm eating leftover asparagus (my pee will be funky later, oh well) and drinking Diet Mountain Dew, and talking online to Kimmie and Leeanne. I'll have a nice longwinded report on Monday night/Tuesday morning, so talk to ya later.

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

hooray

  • Hey word up homies, I am back. I've got good news, I'm pretty sure I have a third job now. I had good feelings when I had my interview on Friday. I gotta fax in some paperwork this morning so I can start training. Only 2 days a week, sometimes 3, in the late afternoons and it pays good. I'm hecka juiced. Now I won't be as poor. Yes I will be getting sleep. I may be sleeping 6 hours instead of 8 on Mon/Tues, but no biggie. I still have my weekends.
  • Let's see what else is new? I went walking yesterday morning (ankles still hurt) and I'm going again today. Then it's the weekly grocery run. Plus tomorrow I'm taking them to Costco for more stuff. My schedule's crazy any way you look at it. I am so rocking out to Prince right now, it's awesome. My thought process is oh so random. Oh here's a video I made from the past 3 weeks or so. Very random. Especially Brad's dancing at the end.

another great weekend

  • Whoo I'm officially back from my weekend. And rockin to George Michael. My weekends are always cool, I love them. A lot. Let's see Friday morning I had an interview for a third part-time gig, and it went very well. It would be a few days during the week, from 3-8pm. That would be a tad less sleep for me, but at least I'd still have my Fri/Sat/Sun partytime. I'll know in the next week or two if I get it. If I do, then fantastic. If I don't then oh well, God's got something better lined up. After the interview I went home and got a little more sleep, then went to the A's game with Sandi. We lost to Texas 4-3. Oh well, we had fun. Baseball games are always awesome.
  • Saturday I did the KDFC thing, nothing too exciting there. Except JD at the Wolf seriously burped in the hallway, and that was awesome. I appreciate great loud bodily functions. Then I went home and did a little housework, and headed on over to Davina's house where she dolled me up and turned me into a woman. Okay that last sentence could be taken out of context completely you perverts.. I mean that she dressed me up like a girl from the 1920s for this Chicagoland Ball thing in San Mateo. I really didn't want to go, since I have this social anxiety thing about dancing with boys, etc. It turned out to be pretty interesting and fun. Valeria came along too. I ended up hanging out with Valeria for a good portion of the evening there since Davina did get up and dance occasionally. Most of the guys there were already with dates, or really old/weird. So we made sure to avoid eye contact and all that jazz. Haha.. they played "All That Jazz." I'm such a nerd. We left there around 10pm and drove all the way to Fentons in Oakland for some bombass ice cream. Oh and a cheeseburger. But the swiss chocolate mocha ice cream there is to die for. I give it a 10 out of 10 on the Richter scale of awesomeness. Creamy goodness.
  • On Sunday I dragged myself out of bed and went to church. I was really pooped out from the night before but I knew church was important. Especially since next week I'll be in Lodi and not able to go. So I went, and it was a lot of fun. After church, I went back home then Davina picked up Michelle and I and we went to Knudsen's Creamery in Castro Valley for lunch. Ice cream again, yes I know. I'm awful. It was fantastic. Not as fantastic as Fenton's, I give it about a 7 on the Richter scale of awesomeness. Then we went walking to the duck pond over by my house. Then we went back to my house, and I took a nap for a few hours. I promised Michelle that she and I would go to dinner together, so we went to Texas Roadhouse again. I love that place. I had the roasted chicken with a house salad and green beans. Really tasty. Their rolls are the best part. We went to Borders afterward and I had an iced vanilla latte. It was pretty good. Afterwards we went to my place and I watched the last half hour of the new version of the Bad News Bears, then the first half hour. Weird, but TNT was playing the movie twice in a row and that's how I caught it. It was good, but Billy Bob Thornton is no Walter Matteau. Okay that's it for now. This whole week shall be interesting, and I can't wait until Spring Celebration at Great America this Saturday.. front row for Family Force 5!!! WHOOOOOO.
  • P.S. I love Huey Lewis And The News.. and I'll have a new video up in the next day or so. I have odd footage from the past 3 weeks that must be shared.

im tired.. as usual

  • Hooray for weekends! I'm so glad it's here already. I'm exhausted. Gee that's a shocker huh? I seem overly tired today, but oh well. My schedule is a bit insane, so that's the main reason I guess. I have an interview later this morning for a possible third job. I don't know the hours or pay, but I'll go to find out and see if they even like me. I'm also going to the A's game tonight. Whoohoo! Essentially I'm getting like 5-6 hours of sleep broken into two segments. Yay for me. Saturday I'm working my part-time gig, and later that evening Davina is dragging me to one of her weird 1920's era dances or whatever they are. I'm not really into that kind of thing but she has no one else to go with and she's dressing me up. Oh well, maybe I'll take some fascinating pics or video. So yeah, this weekend will be interesting. I'll try to get some rest in between all the mayhem.
  • Congrats to me, I went walking on Wednesday and Thursday morning, despite the painful arthritic ankles. I won't have time to go this morning obviously, but oh well. I'll try to take walks here and there over the weekend, that'll help my fitness level. Maybe.
  • I haven't been this tired in a long time. Maybe it's depression, maybe it's stress. I have enough of it. Maybe it's hormones. Probably a combo of all three. I'm having my late twenties life crisis. Help.

i live in da ghettoburbs

  • Hey there. Let me start off with a rant I have in my head. Why do they show commercials for good looking restaurants that aren't in my area? They always advertise for Ruby Tuesday, the closest one is about 2 hours away. What the heck is with that? Oh and Dunkin Donuts with "America Runs On Dunkin". There are no Dunkin Donuts in California. I was on their website. Change the slogan to "Most of America runs on Dunkin but California has Starbucks on every other corner so forget them." I know Dunkin Donuts owns Baskin Robbins, so why not replace at least one ice cream outlet with a Dunkin Donuts? I know I seem fanatical, but I wanna see the hype and magical donuts that the East coast seems to be crazy about. Oh and Cici's Pizza, that place with the pizza buffet. I doubt there are any in California. None in the Bay Area, anyway.
  • All the good cheap places are afraid of the expensive yuppie wasteland I like to call home. Well I live in the ghettoburbs, so not exactly. Let me break down that terminology while I'm at it. Oakland is ghetto, and I live in a suburb of Oakland, in San Lorenzo. I wouldn't really call it a suburb because all the affluent mostly white folks have fled to Dublin/Walnut Creek/San Ramon. I live in a ghettoburb. A smaller suburb with plenty of check cashing places, billboard advertisements in Spanish and homie g funks at the local malls. I'm not being racist, well trying not to be. I'm just making observations.
  • Wow that certainly was a mouthful, huh? Did I mention I'm hormonal today? Yeah so after that rant, lemme break down what's been happening the last few days. Not too much. Went walking yesterday, and after half a mile my ankles and back were on fire. Mostly my ankles. I was in dire pain and it hurt pretty bad just to change back into my flipflops. I don't know if it's because I'm fat (which is what doctors like to tell me), water retention (good possibility) or the onset of arthritis (both parents have/had it, and my knees hurt when it's going to rain). Whatever it is, I don't like it but ankle pain will not prevent me from exercise. I will walk at least a mile this morning even if it kills me. I shall overcome you pesky little stiff painful swollen extremities. Okay now I'm even scaring myself so I'll go now.

my weekend was okay

  • Word up homies.. and everyone else reading. My weekend was pretty cool. I did a lot of vegging out in the lazy boy and watching TV/movies. Let's see on Friday morning after work I went walking with Michelle at the marina then hit up Starbucks. Big shocker there. Friday night I went to Stoneridge Mall with Davina and Michelle, and ate at Fresh Choice for dinner. Then we did lots of browsing and drove to Union City to check out Borders. Then we went to Starbucks again. (I told ya my family is addicted to Starbucks, we're caffeine fiends. I'm not necessarily one, but yeah) So Friday was pretty routine, and fun.
  • Saturday I did my part-time gig in the city, then went home, did some straightening, went walking, and came home to chill. It was great. We watched tons of movies, including Beverly Hills Cop II. The "we" was Cathy and I.. until TJ came home. We also watched SNL Best Of Christopher Walken and I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry. I had like two rum + diet pepsis and one of my mocha lite fraps with the liqueur shot. Okay so I was bad. After three drinks, then I decided to make a bigass dinner at 9:30pm. LMAO. I made some turkey burger/chili/onion thing that turned into sloppy joes, and sauteed some mushrooms (which Cathy kept stealing)/asparagus. Great dinner, just kinda sloppily made. I love having a lazy day every once in a while.
  • Sunday was pretty much a lazy day as well. Michelle had been under the weather since she was pretty sure she had a urinary tract infection. She was running a fever and felt awful on Sunday morning so I took her to Kaiser in Oakland. This meant I had to forgo church, but oh well. I'm sure God understands, I was helping my sister ya know. Anyway she dropped off her pee at the lab and got her antibiotics, and then I dropped her off at home. When I got home I did a bit more cleaning and mopped the floors. Then I watched TV for about 3 hours (including Beethoven's 4th on Disney.. Judge drinking out of the toilet.. so sexy), and took naps off/on while periodically waking up to eat and pee. I did have some dream that I was like seriously late for work, then I got in an accident, and all these things kept happening to prevent me from getting here. It was odd. But I'm here. Hooray. Now I'm drinking some Zen tea, eating leftovers and rockin to Tobymac. Oh and talking online with Kimmie. Oh I took some interesting video but I want to wait for more footage so I can make a cool compilation of the last 2 weeks or so. Okay later sk8ters..

i finally watched more tv

  • Hooray hooray the weekend is here! Seriously. I'm feeling tired lately but that's so big surprise. I'm always tired. I've been working overnights full time for over 5 years and my body still refuses to accept that I'm awake during niteytime and sleep during the daytime, at least Monday through Friday. Well that and my hormones are seriously wacked out. You know the commercial for those birth control pills where you only have a period every 3 months? I don't need that, I have that problem already. Except my body randomly likes to pretend I'm starting when I'm not and I get all the bloating, depression and hurting body parts for weeks on end. Some of my body parts like to double in size. Which is kinda cool but they hurt. Okay that was interesting wasn't it? This fake commercial from Saturday Night Live is awesome and entails how bad it would be if I only had it once a year.. although this is almost what it feels like already..

Saturday Night Live - Annuale

  • Now that I'm done telling you all about me and my fire monster uterus, not too much excitement going on. I went to the gym both Wednesday and Thursday mornings, and got a great workout. I'm going walking this morning with Michelle, which is good too. I had a really relaxing day so far (my day started at 6pm Thursday evening and will probably end around 9-10am on Friday morning). I got up, showered, got laundry out of the dryer (while inadvertently locking my cat in the garage for 2 hours), made dinner, and watched hours of wonderful entertainment on TV in the comfy Lazy Boy in the living room. I watched 2 reruns of Scrubs, COPS, a new episode of Scrubs (can you tell I love Scrubs?), the episode of Seinfeld where Judge Reinhold guest stars as the "close talker", MTV's Real Life which dealt with young folks in their 20s supporting their families (I can relate.. just a tad.. ), then I Know My Kid's A Star. Then I came to work. That was the most TV I've watched in one sitting in a very long time. I pay for the cable, might was well watch it, right? Okay now I'm off to do some surveys or something, and finish these leftover veggies I made for supper. Yummy. Later!

peter cetera and special lesbians need ham

  • Hey Momma. Shake it like a poloroid picture! (listening to Outkast) Anyway, not too much going on as of late. I'm pretty sure I have some type of ear infection. Right ear is swollen with some interesting drainage down the Eustachian tube, and yesterday my ear hurt so bad that it was affecting my jaw and I had to take Tylenol. Fun stuff. That and I've been in a fog the last day or so, kinda dizzy. I feel baked, but I'm definitely not. That's the only way I can describe it. Oh, and headaches. Constant headaches. Fun.
  • Other than that, life is okay. I've been feeling more tired than usual, and having some issues sleeping. Oh well, I think we all go through cycles like that. Of course my life seems to be a never-ending conga line of stress, so that probably contributes to it.
  • Went walking yesterday, and I'm hitting the gym this morning since it's raining. Then it's grocery day so I won't be in bed until about noon. I'm like Little Miss Complainer today, I swear. So yeah that's about it. I'm hoping to catch up on rest in the next few days, and maybe I'll feel better. As you all know I hate doctors with a passion (except the hilarious ones on Scrubs.. I'd have no prob with J.D. or even Dr. Cox checking me out), so I want to nip whatever the heck is going on in the bud.
  • Kimmie and I are busy conversing about Peter Cetera and "special lesbians" and how they need ham, so I'm going to go now. Ta-taaaa!

tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies.. (stevie nicks ) tell me lies.. (lindsey buckingham) tell me tell me lies!

  • Hey Momma, droppin in to say "hey!" *doing z-snap* after the weekend. It was pretty cool. Had a few ups and downs anyway. Friday night I went with Michelle to Texas Roadhouse. God that was good. Just their rolls are out of this world. A word of advice.. call ahead, you'll save yourself about 45 minutes. That's what I did and it worked. After that we went to Barnes & Noble and browsed, then I dropped her off and called it a night.
  • Saturday I worked my part-time gig, then picked up Michelle and drove to Half Moon Bay. She'd never been there before and I wanted to show her God's beauty. It's really a great drive just getting there, seriously. She was tweakin out when we were driving over some pretty valleys and near the ocean of course. She doesn't deal with heights well apparently. Later she apologized for the freak out session, but I didn't think anything of it, really. We had Subway for a late lunch and Starbucks, then drove home. I spent the rest of the evening enjoying the new Lazy Boy chair in our living room (which is my dead uncle's, but that's okay our cousins gave it to us). Oh man I kept falling asleep in that thing. When TJ and Cathy are not occupying it, that's my new favorite furniture piece.
  • Sunday morning I went to church and it was great. I was feeling the spirit everywhere, and it was the beginning of an awesome day. Then I went home, did a little housework, then went to my uncle's memorial service in Alameda. It was pretty cool. Free food, open bar (not like I drank anything but other people sure were.. lol), and meeting relatives with the same last name for the first time. I almost choked on a piece of pineapple, but thanks to the cup of punch in front of me I survived. I'm always the one doing something embarrassing in a social situation. When I got home Cathy and I had a fight, but we made up. Least I think we made up, she finally hugged me after much struggle. Why does no one in my family like to hug? Except cousin David apparently. Anyway.. yeah my weekend was interesting.

this blog has no purpose/direction

  • Hey momma. It's Friday, and I'm pretty happy. This week has been pretty okay, nothing too eventful. I've been on the phone a lot lately, with a guy that I like. I want to know him a lot better though before I make any final decisions about anything. But.. he is very cute. And nice. Very nice. Now we're talking on Yahoo.
  • I went to the A's game on Wednesday night with Sandi, and we got whooped by Seattle. We got free blankets, so that kinda made up for it in a way. I went walking on Thursday morning, and I'm going this morning too. Then I'm supposed to go to Fernando's house for pancakes. Yummy yum yum!
  • This blog has like no real purpose today, and I'm not sure why. Might be my lack of concentration. Might be that I'm trying to eat an apple why I'm typing. Oh well. I'll read this in a year or two and be like "Wow, what was I on?" Haha.
  • Seriously, I can't wait for this weekend, since I'll be spending most of it lounging around. I almost always say I'll be kicking back, but it never ends up that way. Someone always wants to go out somewhere. Some type of fun activity ensues. Hey I can't help it. I would love to lounge in the living room on Saturday evening sipping a rum + diet wild cherry pepsi, watching some 80s movie. That is my goal. But if one of you calls and wants to kick it, that's cool too. I love any excuse to bust out the camera and take useless footage or great snapshots. Okay see ya'll on the flipside. Peace!

love thy neighbor

  • Hello Momma. Another lovely blog here. The week's going pretty okay and smoothly. Went to the gym yesterday and took Michelle/Dad grocery shopping. After going home, putting food away, feeding Spencer and going to bed.. Michelle calls 5 hours later and wants to go out to the mall. It's like dude, let me get some sleep already. Made me so mad.
  • You know, sometimes I worry that I care too much about people. I see the good in everyone, regardless of what they've done in the past or what others have to say about them. Jesus is kinda the same way. He wipes your slate clean, and sees how good/pure you can be. After I sat and pondered this for a while, that's what I realized. Christians are supposed to love their neighbor. Not be judgmental or critical. Okay so this person screwed up, does that give us a right to look down on him? No one on this earth is perfect. Yes there are bad people out there, that do bad things. That doesn't mean we have to mistrust everyone we meet or form opinions about people we don't know well yet. I guess I'm just silly to think this way. Your thoughts?
  • This blog may or may not have ruffled people's feathers, and I'm sorry. See, I already am apologizing because I fear hurting someone's feelings. I'm a people pleaser. But I love God and I know that's the message I'm supposed to share today. It's what's on my mind at the moment, anyway. So everyone have a great day. I'm going to watch the A's whoop Seattle's butt and eat $1 hot dogs tonight. Later.

Bittersweet end to my weekend..

  • Hey there Momma. I had a fantastic weekend.. well almost completely fantastic. I have some bad news to report first. My dad's brother, Uncle Jim S passed away sometime on Saturday night. We found out Sunday evening. So Mom if you see him up there, be nice okay? (inside joke, Cathy gets it) My dad is pretty quiet as far as I can tell, probably in shock. Poor guy lost his wife and now his brother. I'm pretty shocked, and I'm sad. Dad and his brother didn't talk too often and we only saw him every few years or so although he lived like 15 min away, but that's alright. He will be missed. RIP Jim Sovulewski.
  • On a more fun and positive note, I did have a pretty fun weekend. Well aside from finding out about my uncle's passing. Friday evening I went to dinner at Applebees with Amy since we hadn't hung out in forever, then drove down Redwood Road blasting the theme from Beverly Hills Cop. After dropping Amy off, I stopped by Alisha's house and we partied for a few hours. It was pretty fun, and I think I may like jaeger bombs. Not sure yet though.
  • Saturday I did the KDFC thang as usual. Then I came home and actually got to chill out during the afternoon. Did a little bit of cleaning and actually watched TV for 3-4 hours. I love lounging on the couch and watching Airplane! with some diet wild cherry pepsi. A little after 7pm Brad and Victoria picked me up, and we went for dinner/drinks at the New Zealander in Alameda. I had an awesome cheeseburger with steamed veggies and salad. I drank two diet cokes and had Kahlua/coffee with my dessert. Oh yeah I had bread pudding. Oh and we had cheese/crackers for our appetizer. Very nice quaint atmosphere, great service. We sat there and ate/talked for like 2-3 hours, man it was fun.
  • Sunday morning I went to church, and it was great being back. Pastor Gary's pastor friend from Vegas was there. He reminds me of Chris Farley's brother. He's a great speaker though, and a good dancer. After church I picked up Davina, we swung by my house to grab some stuff, and headed off to Half Moon Bay to hit the beach with Amy and Cathy. The actual beach we went to is called Bean Hollow. Hahaha. I love the beach. We played in the water, wrote our names in the sand, took wacky pictures and such. Afterwards we followed Cathy and Amy to Round Table there in Half Moon Bay and had some late lunch/early dinner. Veggie pizza and cheesy breadsticks rock.
  • The ride to Half Moon Bay and back is so beautiful, seriously. I think sometimes we don't fully appreciate God's beauty and take things like that for granted. I was mentioning that to Davina on the way over there and that's so ironic since I had no fathom about my uncle's passing. We always take people for granted too. It's horrible. Everyone does it, though. I think that's why I almost never say no when friends want to hang, even if I'm exhausted. You never know if today's your last day or what. Take that last road trip. Go for ice cream or dinner. Rock out at that concert. Or just have a great conversation. Don't wait until later. Do it now. Live your life while it's still your life.
  • Okay here are a few videos from my weekend. Enjoy. I like the "Sexyback" part on the second video the best. :-)

another way too personal blog

  • Hey there momma. I thought I would blog about something more private and emotional than usual today. Something I was talking about with Michelle yesterday morning, and even with Kimmie over last weekend. I don't know why but putting my feelings into writing is so much easier then talking about it. I've been blogging for like 2 years now, at least on my blogspot. Ain't that a trip? Life sure has changed, lemme tell ya.
  • Anyway, on with the main topic. It's hard to put this into words just thinking about this. Since you've been gone (insert Kelly Clarkson hook here.. ) I've gone through a rash of emotions. Tons of them. Hurt, anger, fear, abandonment, insanity. It kind of feels like I've been orphaned. Yes I'm almost 28 years old. A little too grown up to be considered one. You see, Dad is still technically here. So I can't say that anyway. He is not being a Dad, that's the thing. His short term memory is way shot, he can't remember what you told him 2 minutes ago. Every time we go shopping I have to remind him that he's buying the groceries, that he doesn't smoke anymore, things like that. He also forgets what day it is, what month it is, what year it is. Once in a while he wakes up and asks where Mom is. Luckily I don't live there so I don't have to explain that one. Oh yes, and he's usually very grumpy. Most of the time. Rarely cracks a smile, always telling me to stop talking so much. I mean some of this is probably because I remind him of Mom. I look/sound just like her, and I'm usually cracking jokes like she always did. On the other hand, he's always been kind of the party pooper. He's been telling me to shut up for years. So yeah Mom is gone and now my father's the equivalent of a 3 yr old, least it feels like it. So that's my sob story as of late.
  • I'm not trying to throw a pity party or anything like that, don't worry. Just something I wanted to get off my chest, so people know where I'm coming from. So if I'm bitchy sometimes, remember what I'm dealing with.. that and working way too much. Waaah waaaah.
  • I'm still praising God all the way, of course. I'm so blessed to have great friends to keep my spirits up when I feel like crawling in a hole somewhere. I thank God every day for his grace, cuz I sure have screwed up here and there. Anyway, that's what's been on my mind the past day or so.
  • In other exciting news, I went walking both Wednesday and Thursday mornings with Michelle. I went to La Pinata on Thursday night and had a killer grilled chicken burrito famoso. I'm eating the leftovers as we speak. I love mexican food.
  • This weekend should be pretty cool. I'm getting some OT later today working a half shift. Saturday night I'm going out with Brad and Victoria from work, I'll bring my camera for that one. I'll probably make another insane video out of it. Okay taa-taa for now!

this video if off da heezy

  • Hey there momma. I've been having weird dreams lately. And I mean weird. Am I going to share them with the world? Of course. Okay on Sunday morning I had this dream that I went with you, Dad, and Michelle to Newpark Mall or something. I was finishing a corn dog when all of a sudden we saw what I can describe as a Muppet Carnival. It was a carnival with rides, booths and fun stuff, completely run and populated by Muppets. As you all know, I LOVE THE MUPPETS! That is a complete understatement. If I met an actual Muppet even with the Muppeteer's hand up it's butt, I'd faint. Seriously. I love Sesame Street and The Muppets way too much. This place was full of them. In my dream I took like 75,000 pictures and everyone was having a blast. Then, they all left in a big fancy parade procession. Muppets and kids, then Big Bird took you (Mom) in your chair and pushed it along the procession, and you all went away. It was a sad ending, but so awesome at the same time. Guess it's my way of knowing you're in a happy place, maybe kickin it with Jim Henson or something. Tell him "Wussup!" if you see him, okay?
  • Okay then on Monday I had this dream that I was trapped in this sitcom with Kirstie Alley playing my mom and Daniel Stern playing my dad. I asked Kirstie what's up and she's like "I'm playing your mother." then I pointed at grown up Kevin Arnold (ask Kimmie) and she's like "Yeah well he's got blue eyes and he's retarded. Travolta was busy." Then she told me "Just stay on the right track, do the right thing and you'll be okay." My subconscious does weird stuff lately, I swear.
  • Anyway in my nonsleeping time, life has been pretty routine. I went to the gym yesterday morning, yay for me. Also took Michelle and Dad to OSH, Target and Starbucks. Thrilling. I should go walking (I always say "should" since Michelle always says she wants to go, but I call her at 7am and she's like "I'm tired.. waaah waah" so I end up hitting the gym.. oh well) or hit the gym after work this morning. Then it's grocery day. Hooray.
  • I made a funnyass video from my weekend adventures with Kimmie. I'll be posting an interesting blog on the Mandys N More page in a bit so look out for that if you're bored. My top 40 on my page is on "random" so if you need a link it's www.myspace.com/mandysnmore. Yeah check it. So here's the video.. enjoy! P.S. It's not supposed to make sense, and I had to edit a lot out for time.

Another crazy weekend

this town needs an enema!

  • Hey there Momma. I am TIRED. I had one fantastic weekend, though. Let me start from Friday, and I'll try to detail as much as possible. I will do an even more detailed blog with illustrations tomorrow on the Mandy's N More blog.. just FYI. I haven't had a chance to upload pics or make any video montages just yet. Okay so anyway, Friday was pretty cool. I went to dinner with Michelle (you treated technically Mom, don't ask), we went to TGI Fridays. Then we got ice cream from Coldstone. God I love Coldstone. I love ice cream period. We brought some home for Cathy and TJ. Then Michelle and I watched Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network when Davina came over. We're all fat girls so the Food Network is like watching hot ripped guys washing cars on a hot Sunday afternoon. You get the drift. Man nothing is more awesome than eating ice cream and watching the Food Network. Mmmmm. So a while later we dropped Michelle off at home and went to Dennys. I had a diet cherry coke since I had enough food earlier. It was pretty fun just getting out though.
  • Saturday was another awesome day. How many times can I say awesome in this blog? I have no clue. So I worked at KDFC like I always do. It was pretty fun and routine. Lots of listeners leave bitter voicemail because they say it's not classical enough. I think classical music is so full of snobs, especially here in the Bay Area, where everyone on the other side of the bay (San Francisco, Marin, Palo Alto) acts like they're the shite since their real estate is worth twice as much and they pay over $4 for gas. Okay enough complaining. After work I headed on over to Lodi to kick it with Kimmie and got there at 3pm on the dot. Her mom was there, and boy was that interesting. You'll see from the video I make in the next day or two. Anyway we started by watching the pilot episode of He-Man. Then, the He-Man live action movie starring Dolph Lundgren and Courtney Cox. It was god awful. Let's see, after that we started to watch Superman III, and got about 10 minutes into it when Joyce and Mulletene (ask Kimmie.. LOL) showed up unexpectedly. Then we all watched Alvin And The Chipmunks. Jason Lee looks SO much better without facial hair. Also, I LOVE Matthew Gray Gubler because he's a hot dork on Criminal Minds (I named my cat Spencer after his character), and he was the voice of Simon. Pretty cute movie. They left soon after that, and I put on Bushwhacked starring Daniel Stern. Boy is he goofy, and that movie was retarded. Hence why I wasted an hour and a half of our lives watching it. I got a lovely screencap I'll show you guys. Next, Kimmie put on Rosemary's Baby, but I passed out like 5 minutes into the movie. She threw a New Kids blanket at me during it and I woke up when Mia Farrow was whining about their new apartment. That's all I remember.
  • Sunday was also a totally awesome day. LOL We finally got to watch Superman III, starring the ever so hot Christopher Reeve (RIP) and Richard Pryor, who was insane (RIP to you too). Boy wait till you see the clips, folks. I'm not dropping hints yet. After that was watched The Making Of Superman III. That was cool, and Chris' 80s hairdo was stylin. Then we took a fantastic field trip up the street. First to Apple Marketplace, which is NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE, least their check-out stands aren't. We have video of it too. We picked up sour cream and wine coolers. Good combo. Then we went to Baskin Robbins, (did I mention how much I love and adore ice cream? Guess the double chin gives it away...) and listened to old school Peter Cetera and the Backstreet Boys. Two separate songs. If they did a song together, boy that would be a winner. Then we crossed the street to Starbucks. No Kenny Rogers/Michael McDonald look-a-likes, sorry folks. We were hunting for some but no luck. We still had fun there anyway. We headed on back to Kimmie's house, and I put on one of my favorite movies, Batman. The best one, with my movie boyfriend Michael Keaton.... and Jack Nicholson who is hilarious but definitely not my movie boyfriend. I LOVE that movie!! "This town needs an enema!!" Then we put on Rosemary's Baby, and I saw most of it. That movie is CREEPY. Mia Farrow can't sing, and the hair/clothes of the 60s were um interesting. Also, Roman Polanski is a great director I guess, but they were trying too hard with the whole experimental thing with this one. I had to leave at 9pm to go home, but I wish I didn't have to. We have so much fun just watching and critiquing bad movies.
  • Oh yeah, I was pretty much sick the whole weekend. I had a sinus infection that started maybe on Thursday night with my swollen ears and painful throat. Friday I felt sluggish and my throat hurt. Saturday I was kinda feverish all day and blowing lots of yellow snot everywhere. Sunday I was still kinda beat, and still blowing tons of yellow snot. Right now I'm okay, but I've started coughing up yellow phlegmballs. Fun. I love my sinuses, and every 2-3 months, they seem to love me too.

i wanna be with you everywhere...

  • Hey there Momma. The weekend is here once again. I should be having fun, since I'm going to spend most of Saturday/Sunday at Kimmie's house watching crazy 80s movies and eating great yummy food. I can't wait! Right now I feel a cold coming on, and I'm trying my best to combat it. Unfortunately Airborne and Zicam don't work for me that well, I think it's because there is too much zinc. My body doesn't do well with massive amounts of any chemical, vitamin or substance I've noticed. Too much sugar = bad. Too much zinc= bad. Too much alcohol= bad. Secondhand smoke on an empty smoke= bad. The hardest drug I ever took was half a Vicodin after having wisdom teeth out, and I passed out for like 12-14 hours. So yeah I'm sensitive.
  • I also wanted to share a few weird dreams I had yesterday. The first one was that I was in elementary school again, but Jeff Goldblum was my music teacher. I don't remember much except I was really young and he looked hot like he did back in the 80s and kept pinching my cheeks. I got that a lot as a kid. My cheeks pinched, not hot Jeff Goldblum experiences. Haha. The second dream was that I was working at Burger King again. (Which I would NEVER do even if I get a third job again, I'd rather go back to Longs, okay?) This one massively obese woman ordered 100 whoppers with cheese and no mayo. Then she proceeded to eat them, and die of a massive coronary. Very interesting. So yeah, dream analysts, comment away. Haha.
  • The past few days have been cool, other than weird dreams here and there. I worked out both Wednesday and Thursday mornings, and I think I'm going walking today. If not I'll work out if I don't feel too crappy. I've been opting for getting more sleep when I can, and I definitely will this weekend as well. Don't worry I'm still up for the usual antics, Kimmie. I just may pass out sooner or something on Saturday night. We'll see. Well, I'm sure I'll have a giant blog to post early on Monday morning, and pictures to follow from this weekend. It'll be a blast. For now I'll just chill and listen to Fleetwood Mac, and talk online with Kimmie, Leeanne and Dusty. And no not Dusti Rhodes, Leeanne. This one is a dude. Just FYI. LMAO

no more sex talk

  • Hey there Momma. Sorry I was jammin to Kanye West there for a minute, had to pause Golddigger. Kinda hard to get serious and concentrate when bumping rap music at loud volumes. I've missed you so much lately. Mostly since I've had some really fun adventures and I wish you were there to hear my stories. I don't know if you read my blogs from heaven or even watch on me from time to time. I have faith that God reads my blogs so that's good enough for me. He can pass along the messages.
  • Speaking of faith, I just got done reading a little bit of James there in the Bible. Faith and works go hand in hand. I've been reading Starving Jesus and they talk about the same thing, pretty much. Don't just talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk. I'm still growing in Christ, and I have a LOOOOOOOONG way to go. Man it's HARD. Of course they said it's going to be hard, so DUH LISA. Anyway yeah, temptation is everywhere. I don't just mean the brownies that have been sitting on the kitchen counter for the past two days. Thank you Cathy. I'm talking about SEX SEX and more SEX. I used to be a bad girl, and now I'm not. But it's so hard to not look at stuff and say things. Hey at least I'm putting it out in the open, people. Get me away from the smut!!! Sometimes I get confused and forget that love doesn't equal sex, sex doesn't equal love. I get so boyfriend deprived that I want something I shouldn't have. Satan sure is sneaky.
  • Anyway enough of the Christianity lessons for today. The past few days have been routine. Monday I was way too exhausted to exercise. I came home and slept, ate dinner, watched Scrubs, slept more, went to work. Blah blah. Yesterday morning I did work out at the gym, then went to Fernando's for breakfast and to play with his son. Oh and smell his stinky diaper as well. It was a wonderful experience. Today is grocery day, but I'll either go walking or hit the gym before that. I think I need more cat litter. (writing that down.. ) Okay.. later skaters.

lisa's awesome weekend

  • Hey Momma. Boy did I have an exciting weekend. Let me sum it up for ya. I'll try my best to do some good recaps and I hope I don't miss much. I should have blogged earlier on but I was exhausted so I kinda half dozed for a little over an hour. Well I tried to, but I had two phone calls and *Linda* coming in convinced that we had a burglar downstairs and it was really Zack from programming. Okay anyway, here goes.
  • Friday afternoon I worked a half shift here until 7pm. I really need the OT badly so I didn't mind. Then I went home for a bit and grabbed all my Corey Feldman DVDs/VHS tapes to take the Goonies screening. Fernando had texted while I was at work and invited me over for tacos, so I came over. We hung out, and played liars dice with Grace and Mary. Then Tony came over too, and we talked about our various relationship problems. I left Fernando's house a little after 9 and went to pick up Stuart, my date. Some of you know him as my "husband". We call him that because one of my parents' neighbors at my mom's viewing thought he was my husband. She mistook him for my ex boyfriend. LMAO Moving on, I picked up Stu and we went to Castro Valley Cinemar or whatever it's called. It took a while to get everyone in and seated, and eventually Corey showed. Boy is he awesome. He did a little Q and A, then we all went up row by row to meet him and get autographs. Due to time constraints the theater management said he could only sign one thing and no posing for pictures. So I gave Stuart my copy of the Goonies and I had him sign Stand By Me. This movie means a lot to me since it was one of my mom's favorites. When we got up there, I was nervous but surprisingly did not lose my ability to talk. We snuck a pic together and he even squeezed my hand. He seemed nice. Genuinely nice, not fake nice. It was so cool of him to come to Castro Valley and make an appearance like that. He said during the Q and A that he came because he supports small businesses and that the theater is fighting hard against cineplexes, stuff like that. If I find a video on Youtube maybe I'll post it in the Mandy's blog, I'm doing one a little more detailed later on. I'm sure someone taped it. Overall, it was a great experience meeting Corey for those glorious 30 seconds or so.
  • Saturday was a great day as well. You know everyday on earth is a great day, if you think about it. Enough waxing philosophical. I worked that morning, like I do almost every Saturday. Then I went back home for an hour or so to freshen up and upload Corey pics onto Myspace. Big shocker, huh? Then a little before 4 I went to Davina's house. Jennifer and Kristin were already there. Then the "party van" as I call it went and picked up Ana, Valeria, and then Lorie. We drove to San Francisco, and boy California Street is steep. I hate stop signs/stoplights when you are stopped and when you take your foot off the brake to go you still roll backwards, even in an automatic. I had my foot on the imaginary brake the whole time, Kristin thought it was hilarious. So we went on this "vampire tour" on Nob Hill. I thought it was okay, but personally I don't think it was worth as much as Davina paid for it. It was educational, but most of our 2 hours were spent freezing our butts off in various locales while the goth lady with a candelabra told us about the history of various buildings and the relation to some local vampires. I give her props for memorizing that much of a script though. We did go inside the Fairmont Hotel for about 10 minutes or so. Most of that time was spent in the potty since some of us had to pee. I wish we had visited the inside of more of these places instead of just hearing about them. That's just my two cents though. It was fun and I'm glad Davina invited all of us to go. After that we had dinner at the Nob Hill Cafe, then we drove over to the Mission District for organic ice cream. I forgot the name of the place we went to, it was right by Mission High School. Yummy. Then we drove back to San Leandro, and called it a night since everyone was so pooped.
  • Sunday I missed out on church but I had a great excuse. I went to the A's/Giants game at AT&T Park in San Fran with Sandi. We met at San Leandro BART and took the train to San Fran, then caught the Muni down there. The seats were awesome. The snooty couple on the other side of me were not so awesome. They were dressed like it was a business lunch, not a ballgame. The guy was remarking about how the American League sucks, blah blah blah. Eventually they left to go find "decent Asian cuisine" and never came back. Good for them. It's like dude this is a ballpark, not Rodeo Drive. Rich people make me wanna barf. I was being as obnoxious as possible and even farted a few times. Maybe they were overcome by the fumes. I hope that's what did the trick. The A's scored like 6 runs in the top of the 7th inning, and we decided to go walk around after the 7th inning stretch. We found the giant Coke bottle slide, and of course slid down it. Then we found the lovely cable car and took pics on that too. So touristy. After the game we walked up 3rd street and I showed Sandi where KDFC was. I took her on a tour of that station, as well as 95.7 The Wolf and KOIT. It was fun. Then we walked back towards The Embarcadero and caught a streetcar to Pier 39. I hadn't been there in ages. Our driver was pretty entertaining. Some guy broke the fair box so she just let everyone on board and kept yelling about how "That guy in the back broke the fair box, just get on!! Hurry up, blame him!" Anyway, we had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Not as expensive as it could have been, and they subbed out my fries for broccoli. I had a pulled pork sandwich. Yum. Oh yeah, I had a meatball sub at the ballgame. Not too good for me, but hey I ate an apple I had brought from home. So ooooh. Okay so after dinner, we did A LOT of walking around. I was good and didn't spend extra dough, only on a Nutella crepe for dessert. It was awesome. I took lots of video though, as you'll see at the end of this blog. It's a compilation of the whole weekend. I had a great time, but boy am I pooped out.

im gonna have a cool weekend

  • Hey there Momma, the weekend is here. Lemme tell ya what went on the past day or so and then I'll elaborate on what I'll be doing in the next 3 days. Wednesday morning I hit the gym, then took Michelle and Dad grocery shopping. Nothing too thrilling on Wednesday sorry. Thursday evening was awesome, though. Sandi and I went to see Tyler from Audio A play an acoustic set at a really small church that I can't remember the name of in Merced. Sandi you need to refresh my memory. In case any of you don't know who Audio A is, look up Audio Adrenaline, 3 time Grammy award winners. He was/is the lead guitarist/second vocalist. I do remember that the opening act was some youth band of teenagers that sounded awful. Sorry kids. Singer was offkey, drummer offbeat, bass player looked bored. Then the youth pastor made me stand up in front of everyone since I traveled the farthest to be there. 2 hours.. oooh wow. That was a bit embarrassing. Anyway eventually Tyler came on and he was amazing. He looks amazing too, I might add. He's happily married with kids, but yeah he's easy on the eyes, boys and girls. Now I sound like Robert Culp, if he were gay. Okay only Kimmie got that one. Anyway, after his set was over Sandi and I went over and talked to him for a bit. He is so nice, and makes excellent eye contact. Of course I'll have my pic with him up on here in a while. On the way back we listened to more Audio A in the car while Sandi did interpretive dances and farted. Well she waited to rip em until she got in her driveway. Still fantastic.
  • So I'm going to have a fun filled weekend. I just know it. Later today I'm working an extra half shift here since I need more dinero. Then, I'm going to a special screening of The Goonies, and Corey Feldman will be there to do autographs, etc. I have reserved seats and am bringing copies of Stand By Me, The Goonies, Gremlins, and License To Drive. I hope I don't pass out.
  • Saturday should be fun too. I'm working my gig at KDFC, then staying in the city an extra 2 hours or so. Then I'm meeting Davina and the gang for a vampire tour on Nob Hill and dinner. It makes no sense to take BART back, and get back on BART another hour later, that's why I'm just chilling at work. I'll take a nap in the "chill-out" room that sales people go when they're ready to jump out the window.
  • Sunday I'm going to an A"s/Giants game at Pacbell Park. I've never been to a game there. I'm bringing some of my own water and snacks since I'm a cheapass. Haha. I am so grateful that I'm able to have a working camera. This weekend I sure will need it.
