The past few days have been rather interesting. I am preparing to leave for vacation on Sunday night, I probably won't post again until after I get back. I'll have plenty of pics, hopefully. :)
I got to go through the enduring ordeal of finally goin to the dentist on Thursday morning. Not a fun experience whatsoever. First of all, the orthodontist gave me the lovely news that my jaw is fucked up. I have to consult a special oral surgeon for that. (and it will probably cost $30,000). Second of all, I was supposed to be done by noon, tops. I left the place at fuckin 2! Arrgh!
That's not the worst part of going. They had to take all my x-rays twice, because my mouth is so small and the stupid film things wouldn't fit in my mouth properly. I hate having small objects rammed in my mouth by some scary-ass dental assistants. I FINALLY got to see the damn dentist, and he reinterated that fact that my teeth are jacked up. A lot. I poked around in my mouth for about 5 minutes, then told me I need two root canals, 4 extractions and like 17 fillings. YAY. The estimated cost?... 12,000 dollars. No that ain't a typo. I don't have an extra 12 grand lying around. Even if my work covers 80%, I dont have an extra 3 grand lying around. Guess I'll live with fucked up teeth until I get insurance.
Well, I hope I have tons of fun on vacation. I may be doing a day airshift at KKIQ in a few Sundays, wish me luck on that!

Paid my respects...
I had a pretty decent weekend. I actually had some time off, and was able to get sleep, watch some Miami Vice, and burn a few CDs for my homegirl Sandi that asked me a while back to do so.
Yesterday I finally got to go to Sebastopol and visit my dead relatives'graves. I saw my grandma Joe who passed on when I was 10. I haven't been up there since then. Also by her side is my grandpa George who died in 1973, my grandma's parents, and my Uncle Walt who passed on in 1978. It was cool to pay my respects again and say hi to grandma. I still miss her, and someday I'll be reunited with her and get to meet those other folks who passed on before I was born. I also think of it this way... if she hadn't have died, I would have never moved to San Leandro, and wouldn't have gone to Chabot, and probably never met Manny. I don't even know what kind of life I would have led if I had gone to high school there in Oakland. HMMM.. makes ya think , huh?

I'm in love.. with an Ipod
I finally got a 60 GB Ipod today, I couldn't help myself.
Oh I got my brakes done today. $165..whoo. Well, least they are ceramic brake pads, and have a lifetime warranty. So I spent a pretty penny today, and I'll just have to watch my money the next week or so. KDFC should be payin me this week, but not much. Next week I get my work paycheck and Manny's too, and I get to write a rent check, and a gym payment. Hooray for me. I think I may hold off on paying for a stinking haircut. Least my vacation is paid for. Life is expensive, dammit.

Baby, I I I Can't wait!! (that's a song, people)
Yeah I had one busyass weekend. Not too much outside activities, but I pretty much have been living here at work. 3 twelve hour shifts this weekend alone. Thank god tonight I'm only working 8 hours. WHOOOOOOO!!!
I'm still kinda sick. I have been taking my antibiotics regularly and sinus meds when I need them. I think not having much sleep the last 3 days + walking to and from BART in SF in the rain is not helping me much. Later today I'm going to Rocklin/Roseville again with Leeanne and Manny, to check out more apartments.
My boss at KKIQ (where I do occasional fill-ins) wants me to work a few days next week. I can definitely do at least one of the days. YES!!
Two weeks from now, I will be comfortably resting (and probably getting freaky) in our hotel in Anaheim. I can't wait!!

Lordy McLord Lord
Guess I had an okay day today. I have strep + a sinus infection, in case I forgot to tell you guys. I'm on some heavyduty antibiotics. Not fun. Manny is going to the World Baseball Classic in San Diego for the next two days. Lucky bastard.
Right now I'm frustrated as hell. I'm here at work, and something rather important is going wrong.. and the engineer is not calling me back!! I rarely call folks at 1am, but when a problem is affecting like 50 + radio stations, its wise to get the problem fixed. I have been trying to contact the dude for 45 minutes. If he don't call back in like 5 min, I'm calling the other contact, his boss. OOOHWEEEE.

Still sick as hell
It's been a few days since I've posted anything, and I have a good excuse. I've been sick as a dog. I think it's developed into bronchitis, since I have started hacking up yellow crap in the last day or so. My throat has been really swollen, and my ears were clogged up for a few days.
Wednesday I should have stayed home and slept, then worked. It didn't work out that way. I ended up taking Leeanne and Manny up to Rocklin to go look at apartments again. After looking at two places and having the lady at the third place pretty much tell us to go away, Leeanne chirped out "Hey Reno isn't that far, let's go!!"
Instead of sensing my tiredness, Manny chided in with "Alright!! Whoooo!"
So I got to drive two hours further north, to Reno. My first trip to snow, first drive to Nevada. All while I had a raging fever, really bad earache and swollen throat. I did take some nice pics though...
Those are just a few pics, we took more, but I dont feel like cluttering up my entry. I think the snowball fight, slot machines and snoozing in the sports lounge were worth it. Well, kind of. I got to drive through a nice lovely snowfall on the way home, in semi-icy conditions. My car is so damn dirty right now.
When I got home at about 8pm, I collapsed onto bed, and promptly made about 5 phone calls, eventually getting someone to fill in for me at work. Then I downed some Nyquil and slept about 14 hours. I then woke up, watched cartoons for an hour, then slept another 9 hours. Sleep is so great when you're sick. That's bascially been the last few days, sleeping and watching TV.
Yesterday I did some light housework, and watched quite a bit of Nash Bridges and Walker Texas Ranger. LOL. We will be in L.A. in 3 or 4 weeks. Oh joy)

Feel like crapola
Man, I think I'm coming down with something. I woke up this evening with a stuffy nose, sore throat, and I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck.. and I have a dentist appointment at like 10am later today. I don't want to chicken out.. so I'm gonna go ahead and go through with it.
I haven't been to the gym in almost a week. But today I feel like shit and have to suffer in the dentist chair, and there's no way in hell I want to suffer on a treadmill afterwards. I'll probably be home by noon, then I'll collapse into bed.

I need to focus....
Yeah I know I haven't posted in several days, I usually don't post on my days off. I like to have something to do here at work. Speaking of work, lately I've noticed I haven't been giving either job the 110% they both deserve. Yes I do almost nothing at both of them, but I need to be "on the ball", so to speak. Last week I reset a switch during a talking segment and then the machine decided to have a "hiccup" so to speak, and it didn't sound very good. Not really my fault though, but I could have chosen a better time to reset the switch.
The other day at KDFC we had issues with our automation system, and we ended up having about 40 seconds of dead air. It wasn't my fault, and I did what I could to fix the problem. Still, I just seem to be having funky luck with work. I am going to be more alert and diligent, because I can't take these jobs for granted. No way.
Thursday night Manny and the guys (and Cathy and myself) had a little get together at Chuck E Cheese, and eventually it moved to Cloverleaf Bowl. It was loads of fun. Some of us got drunk, I wasn't one of em. Manny drank a little bit, had a few shots.. but he wasn't really drunk though, just buzzed. He got tix to the Boston-Oakland series in July, and a WWF 1990-1994 Wrestlemania DVD set from me. David got him a Geek Squad shirt from Best Buy. My parents got him a gift card for Chilis, we ate there on Saturday night. Here are some interesting pics..

Say say say
Well, nothing too terribly exciting goin on with my life for now. Manny's bday stuff is goin down later today, it should be loads of fun.
I just rebalanced my checkbook and reinterated the fact that I suck at math. I had not written 3 or 4 gas purchases over the last several months into my ledger, and I think I started off with the wrong total to begin with. All I can say is, I have spent the last 3 months thinking I had at least 100 bucks more than I actually have. .
My allergies are actin up again, clogging up my nose here at work. I don't know if it's weather related or not.
For some strange reason I have the Paul McCartney/Michael Jackson "Say Say Say" song stuck in my head. I think I'll post the video on here. Pretty interesting..
