It just never ends

  • What's up y'all? I am SO tired right now. I know I'll be catching the train to sleepytown soon enough. Gonna try to get a nap in here at work since I'll be in a car on the way to L.A. later this morning. I'm not the one driving, but I know I may be too excited to sleep. I shoulda brought some Benadryl and drugged myself. Hahaha.
  • Hmm what's new? Well Dad's been a bit groggy and uncooperative lately, and we've come to the conclusion that it's his Alzheimer's medication. When we took him to the neurologist, he insisted on him continuing the med, plus he wants him to start on Ritalin. He says it calms children but is a stimulant for adults. Is that all doctors enjoy doing? Just drugging everyone up? Michelle and I are at our wits end. Oh yeah, my car got sideswiped today by one of our neighbors around the corner. Fortunately we witnessed it happening and Cathy stopped the lady. I left a message on my agent's voicemail, made a formal claim over the phone to the 800 number, and emailed all the info including pictures to my agent. I think I'm covered. Still sucks though, I don't have a drivers side mirror. Hopefully I can get it fixed next week sometime. Yeah so that's it in a nutshell. I really want to have a good time in L.A. today and tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Had a great holiday this year

  • Late Merry Christmas y'all! Early Happy New Year! I had a pretty cool weekend overall. Made out like a bandit this year on Christmas. Bought myself a new camera using some cash that TJ gave me. Also bought myself a new Sesame Street book that was 50% off, and got a new blender/food processor thing. It's like the Magic Bullet, but a cheaper brand. Made myself a low fat eggnog smoothie earlier this evening, it works. Cathy also gave me The Office seasons 1/2, which I've been watching. Actually the best present I received this year was my dad's health. I was so afraid he'd be in the hospital on Christmas. Our family has had that curse for generations. My grandfather and late uncle always seemed to be sick around the holidays as well.
  • The rest of my weekend was fun too, although tiring. Saturday I seemed to be on my feet the whole day. My dad's cat Johnny passed away late Friday night, so I had to take Dad and Michelle to the vet hospital to drop off his body to be cremated. Then Davina and I went to lunch, did some shopping, and hit the gym together. I had enough time after that to go home and make dinner, and wrap Cathy's bday presents. Then I had to take Michelle and Dad out to do more shopping. Then I finally got back home and maybe hung out an hour before I accompanied Cathy on her late night grocery run. So yeah, busy Lisa. Sunday wasn't so bad. I got up and went to church, then to the gym, then spent the afternoon/evening lounging at home. Even managed to take a nap. Feels so good to relax for a change.

Merry Christmas everyone!

  • Word up y'all! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night! I'm here at work and it's almost 2am. I'm still sipping on the remnants of my eggnog milkshake I got earlier. Thought I'd treat myself for the holiday. I'm trying very hard not to gain weight, that's my goal. Not worrying about losing, just concerned about gaining. I know I can do it if I avoid most of the cookies Cathy made. Oh well.
  • The holiday has been great so far. Dad and Michelle came over earlier tonight, then we went to my Uncle Jim's house. It was great to see my cousins and their kids. I love spending time with my family. Dad and Michelle are coming over again this afternoon for a while. We're gonna have a nice Christmas dinner with ham, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. Yum. I'm working a 5 hour shift here in the evening, covering for one of the part-timers. In return she's covering part of my New Year's Eve shift, so it's an even trade. Oh well. Still, an awesome time to be had. Merry Christmas everyone!

Don't take loved ones for granted

  • What's up y'all? I had a pretty fun weekend. Spent most of it in Lodi with Kimmie, having our Christmas celebration. Of course I spent about half the time worried sick about my dad. We're meeting with discharge planners today to see if he can be taken home. May be today, or later on this week. Hopefully we can take him home. Someone suggested a nursing home, and we're like "Um no." He'd go downhill fast if we did that to him. He seems to be getting better, and as long as we follow up with everything I don't see why he can't be recovering at home. They always dope him up there anyway.
  • Also, I'm kinda in a funky mood for another reason. It's been exactly two years to the day since my mom passed away. I can't believe it's been that long. I miss her so much. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her, wishing she were still here. Life would be so much easier. I know I'm not going to have my dad around forever, so I cherish every moment I have with him, too. I think we all should. Don't take your loved ones for granted.

My first SantaCon was awesome

  • What's up y'all? I'm back from my fantastic weekend. I had way too much fun. I know I say that a lot, but this time I really mean it. Probably a little too much fun. Friday I went on a marathon shopping excursion with Michelle and Dad. We were at the mall 5 or 6 hours. Spent almost 2 hours in Target alone. It wasn't due to crowds either. Just that my older sister takes way too long to shop. I got a few more gifts for people, and a new hoodie for myself. I've had most of my hoodies for 2+ years, and they're hanging off of me. I needed something that fit. I actually tried on and bought a medium!! Okay it was one of those "urban" fashion stores, but still it was awesome. Later on we had dinner at Red Robin, then drove around and looked at Christmas lights in Fremont. They had some really neat displays, and Dad had a good time.
  • Saturday was quite an adventure. My first SantaCon. I went with Tricia, her husband Kevin, his brother Mike, and several other people. We had a blast. I got drunk. Not wasted, but definitely drunk. I'm not a beer drinker, but I was definitely chugging some down. I ordered mostly rum and diet coke at every bar, but chugged beer in between. We ate pizza at some point in time, then called it a night around 8pm. We started around noon. So yeah, that's a good 8 hours of partying. Some people stayed later, but three of us left early. I flirted with some interesting guys. :-)
  • Sunday I had a tiny hangover, mostly felt tired more than anything else. A bottle of grape Crystal Light and a banana pretty much cured any crapiness that I felt. After breakfast I went to the gym, and had my eyebrows done. I'm looking sexy again. Hey hey hey!! Later on I came home and wrapped all my gifts for people, and watched TV/movies, then later took a nap before work. So yeah that was my weekend. WHOOOO..

Awesome to the max

  • What's up, yo? Not much. Just chillin, finished some Bible study, eating some grapefruit. I love fruit. A lot. I think it has helped me lose weight since it has fiber and lots of water, plus I drink lots of water. So I pee a lot. Lost 2 more lbs this week. Was at a bit of a plateau for a few weeks, due to Thanksgiving and its after effects. I've been on track lately and it shows. Also I've been working out as much as possible. Earlier tonight the elliptical machine kicked my ass. Literally. It hurt. I only went on it because Grace was on one and I felt like being her workout buddy for 10 min. Haha. Then I want back to my nice safe treadmill and did some power walking/jogging. Then some ab work.
  • Enough about my fitness journey. This week has been cool. Had our work dinner on Wednesday evening at Applebees in Alameda. It was pretty yummy. I had steak/chicken. I took some pics but mostly of my coworkers chowing down. Then I went to the gym a while afterwards. I was jammin due to all that protein.
  • This weekend should be awesome to the max. Later today (Friday) I'm taking my dad and Michelle shopping at Newpark Mall, then probably out to dinner. Saturday is SantaCon in San Francisco. I've never gone, but Tricia/Kevin have, and I'm dressing up as an elf. I can't wait! I'll have plenty of stories to tell on Sunday night I'm sure. :-)

my weekends are always fun

  • Howdy doody folks. I had a fun weekend. Relaxing for the most part. Friday evening Michelle and I went to Olive Garden. Neither of us had been there in years. The food was yummy, but I realized why we don't go there often. Kinda steep prices for what you get. Oh well. Later on that evening I joined Davina, Cliff and Michael for some karaoke. That was a treat, since it was Cliff/Michael's first time. Haha.
  • On Saturday Cathy and I got up at the buttcrack of dawn, and went to Fresno to see Amy for a surprise visit. Her apartment complex is quite confusing. We ended up knocking at some other person's place for about 5 minutes, but eventually found the right one. It was fun running errands, grabbing Sonic and later watching cartoons. We didn't get back here until about 8pm. I was planning on making dinner then hitting the gym, but the evening didn't turn out that way. I ended up going to Fernando's place and joining him, Grace and Davina for pizza instead. Oh and his kids too. Joey is so big now, and really smart. Afterward Davina and I were going to go to the gym, but it was already closed. So we went back to my place and watched Tommy Boy. I love Chris Farley.
  • Sunday I finally was able to sleep in, and made some awesome banana pancakes with eggbeaters and smart bacon for breakfast. Then I put up my Christmas tree, and headed to the gym for a much needed workout. When I got back home, I ate some lunch, and took a nice long nap. Then I made dinner, watched lots of TV, and came to work. Nice and relaxing end to my weekend.
  • So yeah, the rest of this week should be laid back. Santa Con is on Saturday, and I have my costume all ready. I just need some finishing touches. I'm all kinds of excited. :-)

TGIF

  • Heidi ho y'all! Another end to another lovely work week. It's the holiday season! Yaay!! I'm almost done with my shopping, I have 3 more people to buy for. I'm thinkin gift cards. That'll solve a lot of headaches. Not much excitement this week though. Been working a lot, got my oil changed on Wednesday. This morning I have to take Dad's van to be smogged. Big wow. Right now I'm eating a grapefruit. I love grapefruit, even though it's very messy. Grapefruit + Splenda = YUM!! Also stimulates the body's metabolism, which is a plus. Okay since I'm running out of stuff to talk about.. toodles!

fun weekend, but ate too much crap

  • Wassup y'all, freaky fresh y'all.. Okay I was going to try to write some dope lyrics and make a rap song out of my weekend blog but I'm too white for that. Haha. I may have soul but not that much. Anyway, I had a lovely weekend. I finally caught up on sleep on Friday, thank God for that. Also ran to Target that evening and picked up make-up. Yay for me. Saturday morning I made yummy pancakes for breakfast, got my eyebrows waxed, bought new slippers/earrings, and went on a random drive with Cathy. Later on that evening I went to Porky's Pizza for dinner with Davina and surprised Cathy since she was working a shift there. Then we were bad and had ice cream at Clancy's. This nice old Asian man who was extra friendly hooked me up with two scoops of peppermint fudge instead of one because he only likes happy customers. Like my fat butt needed that. Then Davina and I met with Lorie at the karaoke place in Hayward and sang for almost 3 hours. So much fun. I'll have several videos up later. Sunday was an action packed day. I got up and took Cathy to pick up her car at Al's house (very long story), then she borrowed my car and dropped me off at church. After a very long church service, I went with Davina for a late lunch at Chevy's, and did a little shopping at Bayfair. I took a picture with Santa Claus, he says I should get lots of gift cards this year since I was a nice little friendly girl. LMAO Then I met up with Fernando, Michael, Tony, and the gang to celebrate Fern/Michael's 28th bday at Texas Roadhouse. Then I came here to work an 11 1/2 hour shift. Whoo hoo. Overtime rules. So yeah, lots of excitement.

Happy Turkey Day!!

  • What's goin on my homies? It's Thanksgiving!! And yes I'm working an 11 hour shift here, then 4 hours at my other job. Why? I'm insane, need overtime and more hours. Yeah I'm crazy like that. I ate A LOT of food today. Pretty much everything we made, I ate too much and brought some to work. I hope I can make it to the gym tomorrow night and throughout the weekend, I'm gonna need to burn all this off. I figure if I'm going to have a day of gluttony, I might as well go all out. Turkey, ham, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes from scratch, stuffing, gravy, rolls, pumpkin pie.. OMG so much food!!! Oh and steamed broccoli. Had to eat at least something green. Oh my goodness I am so bloated right now. So I'm going to spend the rest of my shift watching random videos on Youtube, playing games on Pogo, and watching movies on my laptop. Yeah and probably randomly dozing off for random intervals. Oh the fun.
  • So yeah my holiday was a success. Didn't get much sleep, but my sisters helped a lot with the cooking so at least I got a little rest. We had fun watching Dance Party on KOFY 20 and making fun of the bad outfits and even scarier dancing. I think that's our new holiday tradition. Hahaha!

I'm motivated

  • Word up y'all. It's a very early Monday morning, and I'm at work blogging and eating grapes. I'm also blowing my nose, stupid allergies. Okay enough with the specifics. My weekend was pretty chill. Didn't do much at all. I think the most productive thing I did do was go to the gym five days in a row. Yes five!! I plan on being one hot sexy bitch by Christmas. Haha. My whole body kinda hurts right now as a result, but like they say, no pain no gain. (Or loss, really.. ) So yeah, Friday night I went to the gym, came home, watched movies. Saturday I went for coffee and on a drive with Cathy, went to the gym, watched some TV, brought Dad over to my place to watch movies. Later on that night I went grocery shopping with Cathy at Walmart/Foodmaxx at 12-1am in the morning. It was fun. On Sunday I slept in, went to the gym, came home and watched TV, napped, ate dinner. Was going to do karaoke with Davina and friends but that got canceled. So I just took another nap. So now I'm at work. Hooray.

gobble gobble time

  • Word up yo. Haven't posted in several days. I'm exhausted. I didn't sleep too well yesterday, then I worked myself pretty hard at the gym earlier before work. Now I'm wiped out. When I get home at 7:30am, I am so gonna crash. This week has been pretty cool. I did the major Thanksgiving shopping already, spent like $100. Sheesh man, feeding 5 people a feast costs a lot. I'm so used to only shopping/cooking for myself. We're gonna have turkey, mashed potatoes from scratch, stuffing, my mom's famous sweet potato casserole (Michelle's making it.. duh), cranberry sauce, gravy, steamed broccoli, two kinds of rolls/biscuits.. yum. Yeah ingredients for the feast add up pretty fast. Oh well, gluttony is worth it, least on Thanksgiving. Oh and Cathy's making a pumpkin pie, can't forget that. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Of course I have to work the night before, and the night of Thanksgiving, but what else is new? So I may have a giant lack of sleep. That should make cooking interesting.
  • Well I'm trying not to fall asleep here so I'll make this short. Nothing much else exciting enough to mention. I can't wait for the weekend, so I can just relax and do nothing. Doing nothing is great as opposed to working 8 -13 hour days. :-)

Monday, November 16, 2009

OH the fun

  • Heidi ho there folks. Yeah I haven't really blogged in a week or so. I've decided not to blog as frequent as I used to, since 2/3 of my entries are talking about how nothing is going on. So yeah, this last weekend has been fun. I stayed at home for the most part, hung out with family. Friday evening I took Dad and Michelle to Applebee's then Borders. It was fun just to get Dad out of the house.
  • Saturday morning I made myself a bombass breakfast with the oatmeal pancakes/eggbeaters, then went on a random drive with Cathy. In the afternoon I hit the gym, then lounged around the house watching TV/movies until late in the evening. Not so thrilling, but a few weeks ago I was all over the place so it was great to have time just to relax. I took a nap, then after Cathy got home from Porky's I tagged along while she went grocery shopping at Walmart/Foodmaxx.
  • Sunday morning Cathy and I decided to take a road trip to Sebastopol to visit Mom, and just to have random fun. We got a cute potted plant and a holiday snowman to put on her grave, I'm sure she appreciates it. Mom loved the holidays, it was her favorite time of year. The irony of her dying four days before Christmas is a bummer, I'm sure she never intended to make our future Christmas memories jaded at all. That's why I always try to get into the holiday spirit, because that's what Mom would want us to do. Anyway, after visiting Mom we took a random trip to some mall in Santa Rosa and looked around. Didn't find what we were browsing for, but oh well. We eventually got home around 4pm, then I scooted on over to the gym for another great workout. I take advantage of the gym and go as many times as I can every week. I went Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday this week. Not bad. Probably won't be back until Wednesday night, since I'm working both jobs the next few days. And that's about it. Just sitting here at work, drinking water and eating an apple. Oh the fun. Can't wait to go home later on and sleep.

Had fun, now I'm tired

  • What's up homies? Not much here. I had a pretty fun weekend and I'm tired. What else is new huh? Let's see on Friday I went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes with Michelle. It was crazily packed. Guess no one felt like cooking and wanted to pig out on healthy stuff. Well mostly healthy. Afterward we swung by the mall, then I forced her to go to the gym. I only ended up with a 20 min workout because she said her back was hurting and we cut it short. Oh well.
  • Saturday I got up and ready, then headed out to Lodi for a weekend of fun. I met Kimmie at her place before noon, then we headed downtown to the movies and met Joyce there. I finally saw This Is It. It was awesome! I was dancing/singing the whole two hours. I do have to admit though that if Michael Jackson were still alive and I saw him on the street and didn't recognize him, I'd mistake him for a crackhead. He does do some weird stuff. My favorite part was when they were testing him on the cherry picker crane thing to fly him over the audience, and he's like "WHEEEEEEE!!" really high pitched. LMAO. So after the movies we went to lunch at MooMoo's since the Feed And Fuel's revolving door was not wheelchair accessible. What a crock. Lunch was good though once we did eat. Then we got bad movies on VHS at Tom's Books, ice cream at Coldstone, and headed home. On the way we stopped at Walgreens and Apple Market for some groceries. Fun times. So yeah when we got back we watched Child's Play, then Greedy starring a HOT AND SEXY Michael J. Fox. No joke. Then we put on a lot of episodes of Tales From The Darkside while I helped Kimmie make a pumpkin cheesecake, and eventually we went to bed.
  • Sunday morning we got up and going around noonish, and watched a few more episodes of Tales From The Darkside. Then I put on a really bad Jeff Goldblum movie called Framed. Even the music was cheese. We sat through that while I helped Kimmie make a banana cream pie. Then she put on Poltergeist II, then I put on Muppets Take Manhattan. Meanwhile we worked on green beans, mashed potatoes, and roasted chicken. Then Kimmie put on IT, and we watched the first half of the movie. Then Garfield's Thanksgiving, then random stuff until I went home. Joyce came over around 5:30 and we ate dinner a little after 6. Kimmie did an awesome job with everything, as usual. Most walkies can't even cook that well, and she has cerebral palsy. So beat that, suckas. That was our weekend in a nutshell. Now I'm at work, it's 1am, and I'm eating a grapefruit. The End.

Thursday, November 05, 2009

Rock on

  • What's up homies? I am uber exhausted. Had way too much fun on Tuesday night, threw my sleep schedule off wack and now I'm paying for it. I may snooze a bit later here and I'll get about 6 hrs this morning so I think I'll survive. So yeah in a nutshell on Tuesday night Sandi and I drove down to Fresno to see the Creationfest Tour with Thousand Foot Krutch, FM Static, A Beautiful Republic, Mark and Will from Audio Adrenaline, and Jars of Clay. All the bands were awesome. I had a great time. I felt like an idiot because I forgot the memory card for my camera, but Sandi was a nice friend and took lots of pics.
  • Later on today Sandi and I are going to see Rush Of Fools in Yuba City. I'm excited about that too. I'll be working here later on that night, and I'm sure I'll be pooped. This weekend I'll be in Lodi visiting Kimmie and celebrating Thanksgiving early. Hope I don't dive too far off the deep end into pumpkin cheesecake land. Hahaha. Okay later skaters.

Monday, November 02, 2009

I love being a zombie

  • Word up homies. I had a fun yet tiring weekend. Friday I started my weekend off by a nice 45 min walk in the late afternoon, then spent the evening watching random movies and downloading music. I think I watched Billy Madison, Thrashin, and Meatballs II. Pretty bad huh?
  • Saturday I got up at a decent hour and discovered I couldn't find my zombie make-up anywhere in my room. I scoured it for 30 minutes to no avail. I ended up at Party City with a ton of last minute shoppers in a longass line just to buy make-up. Oh well. I think the new kit I got is had better stuff in it anyway. Then I went back home, showered (I hecka went on my make-up quest in my jammies), made breakfast, and hit the gym. Davina joined me there, we had fun showing off our dance moves on the treadmill. More like me showing my dance moves, she was too busy jogging. Later on in the afternoon I went to her house so she could do my make-up and hose me down with fake blood, then I picked up my dad. He was going to help us hand out candy. So basically Davina and I spent a good deal of the evening giving candy to kids, and scaring the crap out of them. I made a video I'll post at the end of the blog. I think it's hilarious, but I'm probably bias. I haven't had that much fun on Halloween in a long time. Later on I took my dad back home, then we went to some random party that Davina's coworker was having. It was more like several people sitting around watching some scary movie. Good food spread though, especially the Everett & Jones BBQ. We stayed for about an hour, then went to Denny's. I had a healthy grand slam with egg whites, turkey bacon, fruit, and whole wheat pancakes with sugarfree syrup. Not too bad. Finally I went home and eventually went to sleep after uploading pics/video.
  • Sunday I slept in, well at least tried. TJ was watching TV really loudly in the living room so it was hard to rest. Oh well. I had leftover pancakes for breakfast, then ran some errands and went to the gym. Oh yeah, and of course I got my eyebrows waxed. Definitely needed some help in that department. In the afternoon I met up with Davina, and we went for Clancy's ice cream, and hung out at my place for a while. In the evening I picked up Michelle and my dad and we all went to my house to celebrate Michelle's bday with cake. The cake Cathy made had A LOT of sugar, so did the small cup of hot cocoa I drank. I had a headache soon afterward and felt drunk. I think I had TOO MUCH SUGAR that afternoon/evening, and it caught up with me. I'm very careful about watching my sugar intake because I have a huge fear of diabetes. So yeah, that's probably why I felt so horrible. After drinking a lot of water I seemed to feel better. So that's about it. I'm at work right now and I feel exhausted. I think it's a combo of woman issues and the fact that I've been working out the past 5 days straight. I need a nap.

Halloweenie time

  • Another day, another blog. I think I had a pretty darn good week. Earlier today (yesterday technically) I slept A LOT. About 10 hours. I guess my body needed it. Then I went to the gym later on in the evening before work and had an awesome work out. Did like an hour of cardio and 25 min of ab work and toning. I was kinda bad and had leftover chinese food for dinner though. Lemon chicken, and I steamed some fresh broccoli to have with it. Guess I could have done worse. Just all that Chinese stuff is breaded and fried and covered with sugary sauce. Oh well, I think tonight I'm eating a gardenburger and some zucchini so I'll be back on track. Wait, Halloween is on Saturday. I hope I don't succumb to candy binging. I think Davina might though. I bought 6 bags of candy, we'll be handing most of it out. Oh yes and I hope to see the new MJ movie This Is It over the weekend as well, maybe on Saturday morning. I got the soundtrack, which is basically music I already have plus a few rare demos and a picture booklet. Still cool. Okay well I'm going to keep myself occupied here. Toodles!

blah

  • What's up folks? Not much here. Been working a lot as usual. Right now I'm eating grapes and watching random stuff on Youtube. I'm going grocery shopping in the morning. How thrilling. And yeah that's about it. :-)

Monday, October 26, 2009

this is how we do it

  • What's up folks? Not much here, I'm really exhausted. Think I may powersnooze in a bit after this. I had a fun weekend though. On Friday evening I took Michelle to Claimjumper for her early birthday dinner. It was basically my present to her. Cost a lot of money, but boy was it worth it. So freakin good. Then later on we went to Acupulco, a Mexican restaurant on the border of San Lorenzo and Hayward with Fernando, Grace and their kids. We only had drinks/chips since we already ate. Fern's son Joey is so freakin cute, and boy is he smart. Grace is such a great mom.
  • Saturday Davina and I got up early and caught the first showing of Cirque De Freak : The Vampire's Assistant. I really liked it. Wasn't monumentally heart pounding or anything, but it was a nice vampire adventure movie. Then we went to the marina and walked 3 miles, that was fun. Later on in the evening I picked her up and we went to the Halloween Haunt at Great America. It was so worth the $25. There were 5 different haunted attractions, random creatures walking about, and riding the coasters at night is so much fun. Especially The Demon. Would have ridden Top Gun but the line was too long. I love having the crap scared out of me. Later on we made a late night run to La Pinata for some killer Mexican grub. Yumtastic.
  • On Sunday I opted on sleeping in instead of going to church. Seeing that I didn't get home until 2am and didn't go to sleep until 3, it makes sense. I did catch up on sleep, made a nice breakfast, and headed on over to the gym to get a great workout. I only got a semi-great workout since my new iPod decided to issue me the white screen of death. I tried all the different manual resets with no luck. Fortunately I only bought it 10 days ago and was able to return it to Best Buy. Only bummer is because I purchased it online, I couldn't do an even exchange, all I could do was get the refund back on my card. Later on I picked up a new one from the store in Dublin. I just didn't feel like going back to Union City and doing in-store pickup from the same dude who returned the other one. So yeah, that wasted a good part of an afternoon driving around dealing with my iPod problem. I spent the rest of my evening downloading music and trying to take a nap. I couldn't fall asleep for some reason. This time I can't blame my roommate and her kids, because they weren't home. Oh well. Then I came to work and talked to Kimmie for 2 hours on the phone, made copies and vacuumed the floor. Wow I did work. And I have to call some engineer in Wisconsin later on. Oh the excitement. Okay talk to y'all later.

Friday, October 23, 2009

i wanna be a cowboy

  • What's up folks? I'm feeling a little better today. Still a bit under the weather though. When I got home from grocery shopping yesterday morning I took some generic Nyquil and passed out for 11 hours. It felt good. That's about all that's going on. I've been working A LOT this week since everyone's sick, and I'm in the middle of a 12 hour shift at the moment. 11pm to 11am. I don't know if Brad's sick or just has errands to run this morning. Oh well, more overtime for me. I can certainly use it. Later on tonight I'm taking Michelle out for her bday dinner. Her birthday is next Friday, but she wants to go out this week, which is fine. Cathy may be joining us, I'm not sure. Oh yeah, on Saturday I'm going to see Cirque De Freak with Davina. I love me some John C Reilly and young vampire boys. Yeah I know I have problems. So yeah I'm just gonna sit here for 8 more hours listening to bad 80s music, watching CHiPs online, eating fat free yogurt and lots of fruit. Yay for me.

Everyone's sick

  • Word up homies. Not much here. I'm working A LOT this week. Victoria is out sick right now so I'm doing a 10 1/2 hr shift, and I worked 5 hours earlier at Traffic. I'm working an extra shift there tomorrow. Probably won't go grocery shopping till Thursday morning. Oh the joys of working an almost 60 hour week. Oh well, I need the extra dough. Besides that, no interesting stuff going on. I'm trying very hard not to get sick right now. I'm pretty sure I have a cold, the stuffy nose and achy feelings all over. I'm taking care of myself the best that I can. The weekend will be here before I know it so I can just sleep it off, I hope. My boss isn't feeling well either so that's not a good thing. Oh boy.

Happy bday Kimmie!

  • Howdy folks. I had a fun weekend and boy am I beat. I went to Kimmie's house early Friday afternoon, then her sister took us along with her niece Joyce to the mall in their van. It was a nice thing for her to do so we didn't have to worry about catching a bus. We had a ton of fun at both Sherwood and Weberstown Malls, which are next to each other. I always find that weird, but whatever. We had our pictures taken in our costumes, and did quite a bit of shopping. Only thing I bought was new glittery eyeliner from Hot Topic. I almost bought an "Animal" beanie from Spencer Gifts but I refrained. Now people have Christmas ideas for me. I love The Muppets, in case you don't know me that well. Haha. Later on in the evening we got back to Kimmie's place and watched Carrie. That's always a great stand-by because it's cheesy and William Katt is in it. Sexiness.
  • Saturday we had Kimmie's bday celebration at Woodbridge Pizza in Woodbridge. It's about a 30 min walk (when pushing a wheelchair anyway). I think she really enjoyed herself, because several of her/our friends showed up including Cathy. Cathy made an awesome bday cake for Kimmie, by the way. New Kids themed, big shock there. We had a lot of great fun opening presents and such, and enjoying ourselves. Then we checked out some crappy little market behind the pizza place. It was so bad they were selling old Mcdonald Happy Meal toys. Kinda scary. We headed back to her place, and Cathy met us there. Then we put on Tales From The Dark Side, which I had given Kimmie for her bday. We ended up watching about 7 hours of it nonstop, and getting drunk in the process. I had a fuzzy navel winecooler and 3-4 rum/diet cherry pepsis. I'm not sure exactly how many, I kinda lost count. Kimmie had a winecooler and 2 rum drinks. No I did not get a hangover. I think she maybe had a slight one. She drinks even less than I do, so that's no surprise. Eventually I passed out around 1am, but she stayed online for 3 more hours talking to Kevin while I was snoring away.
  • Sunday we slept in and I'm glad because both of us needed it. We watched a movie I brought called Meet The Applegates where Ed Begley Jr and his family are cockroaches disguised as humans. Very stupid, but I love dumb movies. Then we watched an hour or so of Kids Incorporated, then an episode of Wonder Woman guest starring Ed Begley Jr. So yeah that's about it. We had tons of fun as usual, and I think our pictures at the mall turned out really cute. I left her place in the afternoon, went home, unpacked and hit the gym. That was about it. I'm way tired, and I should have been napping earlier. Instead I spent hours uploading music onto my iPod. That's what I'm doing right now at work too. The Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack at the moment. Haha.

Sometimes I'm just an idiot

  • What's up folks? It's me on a lovely early Friday morning. I'm uploading music to my new iPod at the moment, and rocking out to The Police. Did I want to buy a new iPod yesterday? Not really. I was a complete idiot and left my Zune at the gym on Wednesday night, and didn't realize it until hours later. I called as soon as the gym opened and they said they couldn't check the safe until later that morning, I even stopped by after work and checked the locker room myself to no avail. No one was honest enough to turn it in. Oh well, guess there aren't many Christians or good Samaritans working out at Bally at 10:30pm. *sigh* I got myself a 160GB iPod earlier today at Best Buy. I wouldn't have died without one, but since I listen to music EVERYDAY and can't really work out without it.. yeah. I only hope this thing is durable and Lisa-proof. We shall see.
  • Other news, nothing else. Worked out at the gym on Wednesday night and earlier tonight as well, and it felt great. Lots of cardio, some strength training. I'm going to Lodi for the weekend later on this morning, so I'm leaving work early around 4am. Thank you Brad, I owe you some Dr. Pepper and Big Red. Now I have time to go home and sleep about 5 hours before getting up and doing last minute packing. It's Kimmie's bday weekend and we're gonna have a blast I'm sure. It involves going to the mall in my kittycat costume so Lord only knows what else is going to happen. Okay well gotta keep on uploading hot jamz.

rain = lots of traffic

  • Howdy doody folks. It's the middle of the week, and I'm bored. My allergies suck and my back hurts. Waaaaah. It was raining cats and dogs earlier today (yesterday.. whatever), and I was working nonstop at Traffic. More problems with flooding, trees, power poles and power lines in the roadway than actual accidents. So much fun. Then I went home, cleaned my room, the kitchen and made dinner. Apparently there was a minor earthquake as I was walking in the door, but I didn't feel it. Haha. Everyone on Facebook did. So yeah that's about it. Gonna go grocery shopping after work this morning. Seems like I'm out of everything. Fun.

woot woot

  • Heidi ho folks. I'm back from my weekend. I spent a lot of it lounging around at home and spending with family, and that's a good thing. Friday night I went to Sweet Tomatoes with Michelle, then we went to the mall. Of course I did my 2 mile walk before leaving for dinner. Big shocker there. I got new earrings. Oooh ahhh. Then later on we had a crazy photo shoot in my bedroom. Well Cathy and I did, Michelle just took pictures. Yeah we're creative.
  • Saturday morning I went with Cathy on a cake delivery in Richmond. Fun stuff, then I came back, took my walk, had lunch, and watched movies all afternoon/evening. It was a fun chance to just relax for once. I think I saw Beverly Hills Cop II and III, part of Delta Farce and To Live And Die In L.A. Rather entertaining. Then later on that night I went to Walmart with Cathy and got socks, Candy Cane flavored tea and generic Benadryl for my allergies. That is so damn thrilling isn't it?
  • Sunday I got up and went to church like a good girl, then came home and exercised as usual. Then we had Dad and Michelle over to celebrate Dad's 70th birthday. This is a huge milestone for him. He's been through a lot, particularly in the last few years. We gave him plenty of new clothes to wear and Cathy made a cute camouflage teddy bear cake. It was so stinkin cute. Later on in the evening I tried to take a nap to no avail. It was a full house there at home. TJ and Cathy were in their room, while Aubri, her boyfriend and kids were in the living room. So yeah, pretty much impossible to sleep. I think I dozed off for about 30 min and had a nightmare about work. Hahaha. So I'll definitely be ready to snooze when I get home in 5 hrs or so.
  • Yeah this week should be fun. Tiring but fun. This upcoming weekend I'll be in Lodi celebrating Kimmie's 28th bday. Woot woot!! We're gonna be scary!!

and that's all she wrote

  • What's up my peeps? Not much here. Thank God it's Friday. I have absolutely nothing planned this weekend, and that's a good thing. I need some time to just chill at home and veg out. Relaxing is a good thing. So what's been new the last day or two? Nothing. Took Dad and Michelle to Applebee's as an early bday celebration for Dad. He'll be 70 on Sunday. We're bringing him over for cake/presents that afternoon. I'm sure he'll have a good time. And that's all she wrote..

Short and pointless

  • Not a whole lot going on, my usual very short and pointless midweek blog here. Just a lot of working, housework, and trying to stay awake. Dad's been under the weather the past few days. He may have the beginning of a chest cold, doctor said he's okay. Don't worry, he got his flu shot a few weeks ago, and will get the H1N1 when it's available. Can't take any chances on Pops. Other than that, no new exciting things to mention. Today is one of my LONG days. Grocery shopping after work, then I'm going home to do housework and will probably go walking, since I have a dentist appointment at 11am and some time to kill. I know one thing, that when I get home after my cleaning/scraping session with Dr. Nyugen I'm gonna pass the f**k out. Pardon my language. I'm so nice. Okay, toodles!

choochoo

  • Howdy doody. I'm back from a fun weekend and I'm tired. I have the feeling a powersnooze is in order. Anyway lemme know what I was up to. Friday afternoon I worked an extra shift @ Traffic since they were short a person and I can't pass up more dinero. I may be working a few extra shifts here and there as needed, my boss there says he can use the extra help. I can use the extra cash. Anyway after that Davina and I met up for a Friday night adventure. We went to Best Buy and I got more blank CDs, then to Chevy's for dinner. I love me some Mexican food. Of course we went to see Zombieland afterward. That movie rocked. Beat my expectations, and very hilarious. I'd actually pay to see it again, it was just that good. Other movies I'd like to watch in the next few months are Where The Wild Things Are and Cirque De Freak. Forget that Twilight crap. I don't hate it, but it just doesn't appeal to me. So yeah, later on we stopped by Walmart to get pads & zombie make-up. I think I'll be a zombie on Halloween itself and a kittycat as a back-up costume, probably the weekend I spend at Kimmie's house.
  • Saturday morning I caught up on exercise by walking a few miles, which felt great. Then Davina, Lorie, her friend Jovie and I went to the A's game, the second to the last one of the season. We lost to Anaheim 4-2. Big shocker there. I did enjoy sitting in the Westside Club eating chicken, fries & ice cream for half the game, and my free mini-A's helmet. After the game we had coffee at Cafe Sorriso, then I picked up my Dad. I promised I'd watch him for a while so Michelle could go on another stupid date with her boyfriend. The important thing is Dad got out of the house for a bit and enjoyed himself at my place.
  • Sunday I woke up bright and early, and had enough time to go walking before Davina picked me up for church. Church was fun, Pastor Vince had a good message about not straying from God, no matter how bad you've been. After church got out we went to Target, then to Kennedy Park next door to ride the choochoo train. I've always wanted to ride it. So much fun. Life is about the little things, you know. We then met up with Lorie at her place, and walked to the Sausage & Suds festival from there. I got a fireman hat and was able to climb in the fire engine. So exciting! I had tri-tip as a late lunch, then some kettle korn. It was a fun time and I ran into friends I hadn't seen in a long while. Then I went back home and took a nice nap before work. Here I am.
  • Yeah so that's it. I'm way tired. Oy vey.

Bodily functions are cool

  • Yay it's Friday!! I'm not going to discuss any more menstrual talk for a while, apparently some of my readers get grossed out. Haha. I'm still going to talk about other bodily functions freely, so deal with it. I don't know what's so taboo about talking about any bodily function, frankly. We're all humans. We all pee, poo, fart, burp, girls get their periods, some of us have sex. So why not discuss it freely?
  • As usual, not so much going on. Wednesday I went grocery shopping, and later on that evening I went to Sweet Tomatoes with Michelle. Should have gone walking but I felt like crap. Thursday morning I ran a few errands with Michelle, then came home and slept. Later on I went walking, made dinner, and watched lots of TV. Now I'm here. I still feel kinda blah but I'm sure I'll recover over this weekend. I think I'm going to the A's game on Saturday. Yay!

i hate my period

  • I am doing a VERY short blog today becuase it feels like I'm being gutted alive. I hate my period. I'm taking a lot of Motrin and it still hurts. This morning maybe if my boss comes in on time I can leave work early and get part of my grocery shopping done. I just can't wait to climb in my bed, curl up with Spencer and pass out. Maybe I should buy some Tylenol PM to knock myself out with. Haha. Seriously that doesn't sound like a bad idea. Hmm.
  • But yeah that's about it. I'm just trying to survive here at work, wearing my jammie pants. Only like 6 more hrs to go, and all I have to really do is sit here and watch sitcoms online. Yay.

ZZZZZZ

  • Word up my homies. How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good. Right now I'm just uber exhausted since I didn't get a nap and I've been up for like 18 hrs or so. I did have fun the last few days. Friday afternoon I worked a little OT here until 7pm, then Davina called and wanted to hang. We went to Stoneridge and looked around a bit, then to dinner at Outback Steakhouse. I hadn't been there in ages and the food wasn't really that expensive. Later on we hung out at my place and watched Strangers With Candy. Well I did while she napped on my bed.
  • Saturday I got up and exercised, then met with Davina to get my eyebrows done. I ended up stopping at my friend Irma's salon there on Bockman in San Lorenzo. (American Girls). I kind of like the individual attention and the whole catching up-gossip factor. At least when she's doing my eyebrows anyway. Davina was going to get a manicure but that would have taken a long while and we wanted to go shopping. So we went to Target. I got Dad's bday present and part of my Halloween costume. Next was lunch @ Carrows, a quick stop at Payless Shoe Source, and a spontaneous decision to visit McConeghy House next to Kennedy Park. It's a really neat historical home with a rich history. There were old furniture, clothing, pictures, and lots of neat stories. I'm glad we stopped by. Later on in the evening Cathy and I ran some errands, and hung out in front of Larry's house drinking (least I did). Then Michael texted me so I went walking with him and Irma for a bit. Then I went to Walgreens. Nothing more entertaining than a drunken Walgreens run at midnight. I eventually fell asleep on my bed. Good times.
  • On Sunday I decided to do something fun with my day and take Dad to Sebastopol. Did my 2 mile exercise of course, then picked him up. After getting gas, flowers and coffee, we were on our way. We both really enjoyed ourselves. I think he enjoyed going out of the house. I may look after him this Saturday afternoon, let's see how things go. Anyway that's about it. I'm exhausted, as I mentioned earlier. Toodles.

Blah blah

  • What's up folks? It's an early Friday morning, and I'm stone cold chillin at work. Not much going on lately. Working, getting exercise. This weekend I don't have much going on yet, at least set in stone. May hang with Davina/Lorie. I'm working a little OT later on this afternoon so that's good. A little extra money won't hurt. I'm also back on my good eating plan since last weekend. I'll try to be good in the next few days but I can't make any promises. Food can be evil. Um that's about it. Y'all have fun and be safe out there. :-)

time for a catnap

  • Hey homies. What's shakin? I'm just sitting here trying to stay awake. I am exhausted. I think it's a combo of working both jobs the past few days, and not fully recovering from the weekend yet. I should get about 8 hours of sleep later today and I'm looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to getting paid on Thursday, since I have a few bills plus I have bday gifts to buy. Kimmie, my Dad and Michelle all have birthdays in October. Fun times.
  • Not much else going on, yo. This morning I'm grocery shopping. Oh the excitement. I will say FoodMaxx has bombass grapes. Hecka big and still good 6 days after you buy them. Firm and juicy. How I like my men. Haha. Okay I'm gonna go, time for a catnap.

Great weekend, learned a lot

  • What's up folks? Back from my uber long and fun weekend. I hope this writing is somewhat coherant, because I'm exhausted. I've been up about 18 hrs now and I won't be in bed for another six. I may catnap soon. Shoot I may catnap in midblog and just come back to it. Anyway, on Thursday I hung out with Kimmie at the Grape Festival in Lodi. Beforehand we met at Mountain Mike's for lunch and did a little browsing at Kmart, then walked a mile to the festival grounds. I really enjoy coming every year. It's basically like a county fair. Clowns, halls with random exhibits/booths, and lots of yummy foods that I usually try to avoid at all costs. I was bad and had a corn dog, roasted corn on the cob and a banana milkshake. So freakin good, but oh so bad for me. Later on in the evening at her house we watched House starring William Katt (from Greatest American Hero) then The Watcher In The Woods starring a very old Bette Davis and the chick from Ice Castles. Cheesy movies, but awesome.
  • Friday afternoon I headed on over to Sandi's place to meet for her church's houseboat trip on Lake Melones near Angels Camp. We carpooled in her vehicle, and got there after only a few hours. Now I won't go into minute detail on EVERYTHING we did at the retreat, but I'll tell you the important facts. I was a little apprehensive about this retreat because of the large amounts of water activities, and I am NOT a swimmer. Not only that, I didn't know anyone at all except Sandi. I thought I'd be bored to death by myself. Surprisingly I wasn't bored, and went out on a boat several times while others went tubing, wakeboarding or waterskiiing. The people in Sandi's post college group are really great. They made me feel like part of the family right away, and didn't seem fake. So many church groups have cliques galore, and make a newcomer feel like an outsider. Every single person was friendly and introduced themselves. No bad attitudes, no exclusions. True Christians. Oh yeah, the small group time was really enlightening. I learned a lot about grace in Luke 15, especially in the parable about the two brothers. I related a lot more with the younger screwed up one who is welcomed home by his father although he squandered away his part of the inheritance on hookers. I have backslid several times. Each time God goes "No way lady, I'm not letting you go, no matter what you do" then picks me back up off the ground. It's a good feeling knowing God won't let me get too far from Him.
  • So yeah, that was my weekend in a nutshell. After we left for home, we stopped for pizza in Angels Camp with a few people, then drove back to Stockton. Then I had my nice hour long drive back to San Lorenzo. Oh well. By the time I got home I was exhausted. I unpacked, put away clean laundry I had washed right before I left, and took a nice hot shower. After going without hot showers for two days, it felt great. Being stinky is no fun. Also, my cat Spencer missed me and spent most of his weekend in Cathy/TJ's room. Now he's probably on my bed, waiting for me to get home from work. I'll tell you one thing, when I get home in the morning, I'll be passed out within seconds of hitting the pillow.

Foodmaxx.. take it to the max!

  • Heidi ho neighbors. It's early Monday morning again, and here I am at work. I usually blog about my exciting weekend adventures, but I don't have much to talk about. Okay I did have fun on Friday night though. That afternoon I got up and did my 45 min walk, then Sandi texted and we got together for dinner in Dublin. We had some yummy morsels at Applebee's. Sirloin steak, veggies, baked potato, and a few buffalo wings. Then we went over to Coldstone for dessert and I had a "like it" size sinless sweet cream with graham cracker crumbs. So tasty. We had fun just hanging together, and I'll see her later this week when I go on a houseboat retreat with her church group. It'll be a blast. That's about it for my Friday.
  • Saturday I actually went back to the gym after a long hiatus, and did about an hour of cardio. Felt so good too. I spent the rest of the day lounging around watching movies, and really late that night I went to Walmart/Foodmaxx with Cathy. I love late night adventures. Sunday was pretty much a repeat of Saturday. Got up, went walking, watched a lot of TV, went on a random drive with Cathy, took a nap, watched more TV, and now I'm at work. Oh boy. I needed the rest though. Later this week from Thursday through Sunday I'll be way busy having fun at the Grape Festival then on a retreat so I'm looking forward to it. First I have to get through my work week which isn't really stressful to begin with, just I'm pretty busy. Oh well. Okay now I'm off to entertain myself for at least 4 hours till my boss comes in.

Friday, September 11, 2009

HO hum

  • What's up my homies? Me here just chillin like a villain. Not much going on lately. I went walking on Wednesday and Thursday, and I'm planning on going every day this weekend too. Gotta keep up that exercise. I'll start going back to the gym in a month or two when it get dark sooner and it's colder outside. For now, nice long walks to the Duck Pond, around the baseball diamonds and back is cool. Let's see what else is new? Um nothing. Next weekend I'm going on a houseboat retreat with Sandi's post-college group from church, that should be fun. I'd like to say I'll work on my tan but my goal is not to get burned. I'm sure I'll have a fun time. Okay off to start my weekend. Well in like 4 1/2 hrs I can anyway.

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

I can do it!!

  • Word up y'all, it's the middle of the week. How's everyone doing? Not too much goin on here. I've been busy working, trying to catch up on sleep when I can and exercising. I'm walking up to 5 days a week now, thanks to my schedule opening up. I'm real close to being under a certain three digit number, and I'm excited about that. Perservence pays off I guess. Sometimes it's hard to resist Cathy's baking projects, but then I remember that I don't want diabetes, or to put on more weight. I can do it! Speaking of that my boss tried to imitate Richard Simmons yesterday morning and did a horrible job. Hahaha. Now where was I going with this?
  • Oh yeah, it's a lot easier to stay on an eating plan when you only buy the bare minimum groceries you need. You can be a cheapass and still healthy if you only purchase what you are running out of, and get store brand stuff. Luckily I'm not running out of much this week, except fresh veggies, eggbeaters, etc. Don't give in to the Oreos on sale, and don't go down any aisles unless there's something on your list you need. Makes avoiding junk food a lot easier. There's my "stuff I just realized" tips for the week. Everyone be safe, I'm gonna rock out to Journey and watch TV online here at work.

Fun weekend, now I'm frustrated

  • Howdy folks. Back from another fun weekend. It's actually Labor Day weekend so lots of folks are still off today. Not me. Well I don't have to work my other job later this afternoon. Which is fantastic since I left my purse in Lodi and need to go get it this morning. If Cathy can't come with me I'm just gonna have to be very careful and pray I won't get in an accident/get pulled over. I am so dumb sometimes, I swear. Anyway, here's how the last several days have been.
  • Friday was pretty low key. Got up, went walking, made myself dinner, lounged around the house watching movies. Not too thrilling, but I didn't mind. I've enjoyed the extra "down" time lately.
  • Saturday I got up, went walking, showered, packed, made breakfast, and headed out the door for Lodi. Kimmie and I met at Moomoo's downtown for lunch. I was awful and had a Hula burger with sweet potato fries and shared a few of Kimmie's zucchini sticks. I usually get a salad or something, but oh well. Then we went walking around the area, checking out various stores. I got 3 bad 80s movies on VHS. I really shouldn't be spending extra dough right now, but I couldn't help it. Least I have stuff to watch later this week. We happened upon Scramblz Kountry Kitchen where Kimmie's niece Sabrina works, but she wasn't in. We stayed for iced tea/cheesecake though. It wasn't really that good. Oh well. Much later on we went back to Kimmie's place, and watched Stephen King's Misery with Kathy Bates and James Caan. Good lord that woman is insane. Seriously. Then we got bored and craved a late dinner/exercise, so we walked (she rolled) 2 1/2 miles to Coco's. I had a few carne asada fajitas, a side salad, and some peach/ice cream dessert thing. Very tasty. Our waiter was hot and had a nice convo with Kimmie while I was in the potty. Let's say some connections were made. You go girl! So later on after we got back we watched most of Tim And Eric Awesome Show season 3, then called it a night.
  • We slept a long time, through the whole morning. I think we both needed it. Once Kimmie was up we finished Tim & Eric, then had Taco Bell for a late lunch. I had two steak fresco tacos. Yummy and about the only thing non-artery cloggging on the menu. Kimmie put on the 1997 remake of The Shining, and we watched the first installment, and chomped on apples as a snack. Then I put on Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and she started prepping dinner. Then she put on the rest of The Shining and we had our homemade cheesesteak sandwiches. So freaking good. I only had one and I brought the other one home, I'll warm it up later tonight as part of my dinner. So yeah that's about it. I'm kinda mad at myself for leaving my purse there, I'm so absent minded. Well what can I do? I can't live without it, and fortunately I don't have to work this afternoon so at least I can get it and sleep. Still frustrating though.

Friday, September 04, 2009

hey hey its friday

  • Howdy doody. Yay it's Friday. Last few days have been pretty cool. I've finally gotten enough sleep, which is awesome. Wednesday morning I went grocery shopping by myself. Left work at 7am, was home putting away stuff by 8:30. Big difference compared to shopping with Michelle. Unlike her I actually buy what's on my list and get the heck out. If I'm not running out of something, why buy it? Sheesh.
  • In other news, the weekend is upon us. I'm gonna be in Lodi from Saturday afternoon until late Sunday evening when I come to work. Later this morning I'm working a few extra hours at Traffic to make some extra dough. Since the Bay Bridge is closed for construction and it's the start of a holiday weekend they need all the help they can get. Yay. Okay time to watch more TV online like I've been doing lately to amuse myself at work.

Change for the good

  • Hey guys. Thanks for your overwhelming positive responses from my last blog. Kimmie, Cathy, Sandi, and Davina y'all are great friends. I feel so much better today. Like I posted in my last blog comment, I've decided the best thing right now is to just take myself out of the situation. I'm not totally out of their lives, but I no longer have to take my dad to all of his doctor appointments, grocery shop for them, and run all over the place. If dad needs to go somewhere further away, like Palo Alto that's fine. I'll take him. For now, I need space and sleep. I'm still monitoring things, just from afar. My nerves can't take much of the yelling I've had to do, or the constant phone calls. I just need peace and quiet.
  • Only possible negative change out of all this is not suckering free groceries from Dad. Haha. Yeah I guess I was spoiled because I ran all his errands for him and never asked for gas, just to help out with food costs. Now I'm doing that on my own. I'm like the other 99.9% of adults and paying my own way. It makes sense though. I just have to get used to budgeting and since I've been trying to eat healthy food it costs a bit more. I have the magical power of coupons and the ability to visit three stores if need be to get the best bargains. I'll still finish shopping much faster than if Michelle were with me. That broad takes forever. Yeah so no biggie, just an adjustment slightly made on my pocketbook. Shoulda thought of that before purchasing my laptop. Oh well. Good thing I'm working lots of overtime as of late.
  • Yeah so that's about it. Thanks for reading my rambling, friends.

i need prayer

  • Oy vey. I'm back from my weekend folks. I didn't do much, spent some time hanging with Cathy/TJ, and staying home mostly. I'm working another 12 hour shift again, I need the OT so I'm not complaining. Right now I'm just very frustrated with my older sister. I can't go into too many details but let's just say she's been doing something very wrong that I've warned her about dozens of times. Last night I just about had it and exploded in anger. I haven't talked to her in over a day, I refuse to pick up the phone when she calls. Is this Christian behavior? No it isn't. Just every single time I think about what she's done it makes my headache come back and I want to scream. This is an ongoing problem with her and I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place about what I should do. She's family and if I do what I'd like to do, it would cause a large upheaval in everyone's lives. I'm already sleep deprived as it is and I really don't want to have more responsibilities than I already have. I wish deep in my heart God would change her ways so I don't have to practice tough love. I'm left with very few options now. I need to do what is right in my heart, not what is most convienent. *sigh*
  • The next few days are going to be rough anyway. Dad has a Dr appointment tomorrow plus I'm working both jobs. Then on Tuesday he has physical therapy then another Dr appointment, and I'm working both jobs. So yeah, sleep deprivation sucks. I'll get through it, I know I can.

Just kickin back

  • Word homies and homettes. Not sure if that's a real word or not but I just said it, so now it is. How's everyone doing? I'm doing okay. Working a 12 hour shift and trying stay sane. Just finished some bible study and writing some bills. Fun times. Not much been happening lately. Got only like 3 hrs of sleep on Tuesday thanks to Dad's appointments and my 13 hr workday. Wednesday morning was grocery shopping then catch-up sleep. Earlier this morning Dad had PT again and then I was fortunate enough to go home and sleep 7 1/2 hrs, exercise, make dinner, and here I am.
  • So yeah my weekend is almost here. This one should be pretty kick back. I'm going to yet another party on Friday night. Saturday I'm free so I'd like to sleep in, exercise, lounge around for once. Cathy informed me that I'm being kidnapped on Sunday and taken somewhere. Oh well I'm sure it'll be fun. Then I come in early on Sunday night for another 12 hour shift. Whoo fun. Okay now I'm off to do a survey or something. Toodles.

ZZZZZZZZZZ

  • What's up folks? I am SO tired right now. Got about an hour nap in my car yesterday morning and three hours of sleep at home. I had to take Dad to his physical therapy appointment so that's mainly caused my lack of rest. I'm probably not going to bed until like noon today so I'll be WAY tired. I will be powersnoozing here soon in a bit, thought I'd blog first.
  • Not too much going on. Just work work and more work. I got some overtime in last weekend, and I will this week as well. I need the dinero, so it's all good. Okay well I'm off to finish these veggies as my late dinner, and doze off in a bit. Ugh, I need it.

Party on dude

  • What's up y'all? Another early Monday morning, and another blog. I did have a fun weekend, and now I'm going to tell ya about it. Friday afternoon Michelle and I took Dad to Lake Chabot for a little adventure. We ate lunch and then went walking around for a bit, and he seemed to like it. Later that evening Michelle and I went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, then browsing at Stoneridge Mall. I bought Tim And Eric Awesome Show season 3. That show is so idiotic that it's brilliant. I love it.
  • Saturday I got up, made pancakes, went on my walk, then got a pedicure/eyebrows waxed. Had to update my sexiness for the evening's events. In the afternoon I headed on over to Tricia's house for a BBQ with her family/friends. It was interesting to say the least. Right before I left I played Scene It with a bunch of people, and did really well. Until the last few rounds anyway. It seemed like the party was just starting to get fun right as I had to leave, but hey what could I do? I had to go home and change into my sexy outfit for Tanya's Office Hoes & CEOs themed bday party. I only stayed there about 3 hours, since I had to leave for work. I admit I had more than a few drinks/Jello shots, but it was fun. Big shout out to Lorie for driving my car to work for me, and Davina for following. I won't say I was uber drunk, but I was buzzed for sure. Didn't want to chance it. I was bummed that I had to leave the party while the fun was starting, but I didn't mind the 8 hours of overtime I acquired either.
  • Sunday I slept in until late afternoon, then did my usual 2 mi walk. I spent the rest of the afternoon/evening downloading music and lounging around before work. That and making dinner. Grilled turkey cheeseburger with chopped bell pepper. Yum. So yeah here I am.
  • This week is gonna be kind of hectic, since Dad's finally starting his physical therapy and I'm working a few overtime shifts. Oh well. I need the moolah. Okay, off to pretend I'm working again.

crampy mccramperson

  • Howdy y'all!! Yay it's the weekend already. Thank God. I just hope my woman problems subside in the next day or so. At least they should become livable. I've become Crampy McCramperson for the past three days, and it is not fun. If it wasn't for store brand Motrin I'd be feeling a lot worse. Plus I'm really exhausted but I'm sure that's my anemia. I'll just rest up and try to eat healthy.
  • Let's see weekend plans. Later this afternoon I'm tentatively taking my dad and older sister to Lake Chabot for a nice walk and a late lunch. Then I'll probably chill at home and catch up on rest. Saturday I'm planning on getting a pedicure/eyebrow waxing. Then I'm going to Tricia's BBQ in the afternoon, and Tanya's b-day party in the evening. Later on that night I'm filling in here at work for Yuriy. I promised him over a month ago I'd work for him, and since no one else can do it I'm getting 8 hours of sweet OT. Yeah I'll be tired and sleep most of Sunday, but oh well.
  • So what are you guys up to, huh?

It's monsoon season

  • Heidi ho peeps. Ugh I feel like crap. I'm having my OMG womanly cramps that I get about twice a year. Like popping Motrin bad. I don't normally take meds period so if I'm ingesting any pain reliever you know it's bad. Right now I'm wearing my *I don't give a crap* sweats. They're nice and roomy and perfect for a time like this. Man I'm in so much pain that I called off of my afternoon job on Tuesday, and tried to catch up on rest. I slept 8 hours but I still feel exhausted. I'm thinking it's due to blood loss. Fun times. Hopefully the crimson monsoon will be calming down soon. I can only take so much of this. Oy vey.
  • Other than that life is peachy. I could have slept more than I did but the brats were home all day today. Hopefully they'll be back in school soon and out of my hair. Josh built a peacock out of a wooden puzzle thing and gave it to me, which was nice. I like Josh. It's his little sister who drives me nuts. Anyway, you all know about how annoyed I am by them.
  • Okay well I need to elevate my feet and take a snooze after making my grocery list. How fun huh? I feel old.

Six is definitely enough.. maybe too much

  • Word up homies. I'm back from another fun weekend. Well fun for the most part. I spent all Friday morning and part of the afternoon in Palo Alto while my dad was having a follow up with his neurosurgeon. I catnapped here and there, but didn't get much rest at all. Afterward we went to Stanford Shopping Center for lunch/coffee/ice cream, then finally went home. I didn't get into bed until after 2pm. I woke up later around 7pm and showered, did a bit of housework then watched Miami Vice on DVD and farted around on my laptop. I ended up passing out again around midnight.
  • Saturday I got up, made oatmeal pancakes, went walking, then met up with Tricia, Kevin and his brother Mike to go to the A's game. We lost 8-1 to the stinkin Chicago White Sox. Boo. Oh well, least we had great seats/free parking. Later on in the evening I picked up my dad and we hung out at my place, watching TV. After I dropped him back off I lounged around watching TV, then Cathy and I made a late night run to Walmart for random stuff. That was about it.
  • On Sunday I got up and went to church, then later hung out with Davina. We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory then shopped for a few hours. I got some Michael Jackson buttons, two cute wristbands, some fashion glasses, lipbalm, and a belt. Not too bad. Then we came back to my house and took the 2 mi walk to the duck pond and back. Later on I relaxed in my room and got a little bit of rest before work. I kept trying to doze off but my roommate and her kids were being noisy, as usual. Oy vey.
  • So yeah that's about it. Had a good time except for my roommate being there with her kids way more often lately. She's been there every single day for the past week and it drives me insane. Friday I was all excited because I thought I had the house to myself, then her and three kids some running in making noise around midnight. (One of the kids was having a friend sleep over as well. Even more ruckus.) I sound like a crochety old woman because I'm so pissed at these kids, but they can be so disrespectful. It is definitely a full house and now my room is my only sactuary.

More fun to come

  • Hey folks. Yay it's weekend time! A few days to catch up on sleep and such. Well sort of. I'm spending all of this morning at Stanford with Dad. He gets to have another MRI and a follow up with his neurosurgeon. So Lord only knows when I'm getting to bed. Then on Saturday I'm going to the A's game with Tricia, that'll be fun. Least it's an afternoon game and I won't freeze my buns off. On Sunday I may go church hopping with Davina. Haha. We'll see.
  • So yeah my last blog I was ranting. A lot. No situations have really changed but I've been praying a lot so I don't seem as angry. Plus I got a new laptop and new toys always make me happy. I can now go online in my bedroom, with no interruptions. No bratty kids asking me questions. Oh yes. If y'all really want to know I got an HP Pavillion with a duocore processor, 4GB of ram, blah blah. Not too bad. Cost almost half of what I paid for my desktop about 5 yrs ago. Plus I signed up for the Best Buy card online and I get no interest on my purchase for 18 mos. That sucker'll be paid off in less than a year, sheesh. Yay for technology!!
  • So yeah that's about it. I need to take a snooze since I may not be in bed until noon or so. Oy vey. There goes my Friday.
Here's a link to what computer I got..

aRRGH

  • Today's one of those days when I'm like ARRRGH. Well kind of. I guess it's because I'm working both jobs, and in between I ate dinner and cleaned my bedroom/bathroom instead of relaxing in front of the TV. I didn't feel like watching Big Brother with my roommate and her bratty kids. It seems like whenever I'm home they're watching TV. Since I'll be home this weekend, maybe I can actually get my spot back on the couch and *gasp* watch what I want on the cable that I pay for. That and not have an annoying six year old asking questions every 30 seconds because she apparently has no comprehension and doesn't grasp the plotline of any TV show/movie known to man. When I was a kid I never did that, of course I had a junior high reading comprehension level in 1st grade, so that explains things. So I spent the free hour of my evening in my room changing sheets on my bed, vaccuuming, cleaning my bathroom, and watching Scrubs on DVD with Spencer. Least he doesn't interject every other minute with a pointless question.
  • Other source of stress, minor actually. There was a double homicide at the Richmond Bridge toll plaza while I was on duty earlier. Sucks hard, especially for the families of the two victims. I think my blood pressure was up due to adrenaline pumping, and the person I was working with is generally confused most of the time so my job wasn't easy. Had to take care of my business, and make sure his work was done correctly as well. Oy vey. On a good note I got my review from my boss there and I'm doing awesome. No shocker there. :-)
  • Last major source of stress is the 15,000 phone calls a day I get from my sister. No matter how many thousand times a week I tell her to stop calling, she keeps persisting. It's like, unless it is an emergency, do not freakin call. I called her once myself, but that was to yell at her for something. If I don't speak firmly, then she just doesn't comprehend and keeps on bothering me. I understand that she's bored and my dad the nice man that he is, is about as fun to talk to as a drugged up 4 year old. He's responsive most of the time, but often it's like talking to a wall or something. So I can understand her lack of enthusiam with his company after a while. But still, gimme a break. I work 50 hrs a week and have to know every detail of her/my dad's existance. I'm way too exhausted to even fathom marrying a guy and having kids at this point. Anyway, that's my midweek rant. I think I need an ibuprofin or something. Fun headache.

fun times

  • What's up homies? I'm back from my fun weekend. I try so hard to give nice long blogs early on Monday morning, but by then I'm so exhausted. I'll try my best this time. So on Friday afternoon/evening I hung out with Fern, Grace, and their kids Joey and Julieanna. Of course Julieanna is only 5 days old, but we still kicked it. She was mostly trying to breastfeed off me and it was funny. Anyway, we had BBQ chicken, went to the park and fed the ducks, played on the playground, and then went back to their place and played Dr. Mario on Nintendo. Yes the original Nintendo. So much fun. I miss those days.
  • Saturday I got up, did my usual shower routine, had breakfast, packed for my weekend, and went on my nice 2 mile walk. After watching Ghostbusters with Cathy, I made a short trip to Starbucks and headed out to Lodi. Once I got into town I joined Kimmie and her mom for Chinese food as a late lunch. It was a buffet, and I was good and only had one plate. Buffets are so tempting as a pig-out fest. Guess I do have some will power. Then we met back at her place, and watched Great Balls of Fire. Dennis Quaid making out with Winona Ryder is gross. Anyway, soon after that we wanted dinner and decided to go on a nice walk to get there. It ended up being almost a 3 mile walk to the Chilis. Before dinner we went to Target, where I got a new t-shirt and Kimmie got stickers. Then we finally had dinner, and it was worth it. Their chicken fajitas are awesome. So then we made the long trek home, and by then I was pooped. So I walked about 8 miles that day, isn't that great? Later on we watched Wet Hot American Summer. If you haven't seen it, you need to. So horribly funny/cheesy/bad. Then we went to bed.
  • Sunday morning we had a late start. I slept in until 11am, and Kimmie did until almost 1pm. Oh well, least we got enough rest. We spent the afternoon watching Superman IV, several episodes of the Brady Bunch and two documentaries on Charles Manson. Then we watched Little Giants while Kimmie prepared a great feast of oven roasted chicken, string beans, roasted potatoes, and biscuits. It was yumtastic. Then I had to head home to grab stuff for work, then here. All in all I'd say we had a fun weekend together.
  • It's back to busy as usual. Working my full 50 hours, groceries later on in the week, dropping off recycling cans, doctor appts at Stanford, fun crap like that. :-)

There's a farter in sector 6

  • Howdy doody! I'm back and hecka excited because it's Friday. Yay! I get to actually sleep this morning, then I should have a pretty cool weekend. Speaking of weekends, I made a video from last week at Spirit West Coast. The ending is awesome!

So yeah that's about it. I've been pretty busy working, running errands for Dad, stuff like that. Oh Spencer just has a sprain by the way. It'll take a long while for him to heal then he needs more exercise. Haha. Okay well I'm off to hyperactivity land. Toodles!!

Must shut eyeballs

  • Hey there folks. I am exhausted so I'll try to keep this short. I need a power snooze really bad. Got about 3 hours of sleep today, thanks to working both jobs and taking Dad to the doctor. He's got some minor bronchitis going on and is taking antibiotics, I'm glad we caught it before it turned into something worse. Later this morning we're doing the grocery run, then taking Dad's dog Happy and my kitty Spencer to the vet. Happy is having a follow up for his allergies, and Spencer has been limping off and on with his right rear leg for the past three weeks or so. I just want to get it checked out. Hopefully it won't cost me too much, I'm sure they'll want to do an x-ray. Oh well, if it's not one thing it's another.
  • Okay I'm going to get back into my bible study then power nap. Remember kids that God is great. For real. I keep slipping in my walk with Him but hey what ya gonna do? I'm human. I'm trying though. :-)

Spirit West Coast 09

Hey guys I'm back!! Now I promised my boss I'd tell him what I learned at Spirit West Coast 09. So what I'm going to do is just make a list of things I learned, then copy and paste this and email it. This will be a lot more fun than blogging every little detail.

  • Look behind you when backing up in a golf cart.
  • Always dress for colder weather then you expect.
  • Never say no to ice cream.
  • Just because you hold your nose while being baptized does not mean you won't choke.
  • Bring plenty of sanitizer.
  • Bring plenty of sunscreen.
  • Never forget your hat.
  • Funnel cake is evil.
  • Be grateful for hot running showers and comfy beds at home.
  • Just because you have a drivers license doesn't mean you should be the driver of the speedy golf cart.
  • Orange vests and walkie talkies make anyone look important.
  • If anyone offers you free food, eat it.
  • Outdoor BBQ pits retain heat for hours and are a good place to toast your buns at 3am. And I don't mean hamburger buns.
  • Speed bumps are there for a reason.
  • Take advantage of any flushing toilet you can find.
  • Pull up your pants before climbing up anything, especially if your friend has a camera.
  • No matter how hard you try, everything you wear will get dirty and you are going to smell bad by the end of the day.
  • Jesus is my Lord and Savior.
  • Love is awesome and neverending.
  • Three things were lost and then found on this trip. A makeup compact, an Oakland A's blanket, and my soul. (ahhhhhhh *sniff sniff*)
  • I was telling my older sister about being baptized and she asked "Well how much did it cost?" I replied with "Um yeah it's free. Jesus already paid honey."
The end.

SWC here we come!

  • Hey folks. I'm so excited! 24 hours from now I'll be at Spirit West Coast in Monterey. I may be doing overnight security exactly 24 hours from now, actually. Or I may be asleep. Who knows? I'm so juiced. I'll not be very close to many charging sources for my phone, so I'm not going to be texting/twittering much at all. Also, please no calls unless absolutely necessary. If ya leave a message I'll try to get back if I can. I just know my phone sucks A LOT of juice and I'll need it when I do security. I'll turn it off when I'm asleep.
  • So yeah that's about it. I'll keep a diary of what's going on so I can write a megablog on Sunday night. My boss wants me to write him a report on what I learned, since he's filling in for me on half a shift here at work. Haha. I have a feeling it's because he thinks I've fallen off the wagon somehow and this is a fun Christian bootcamp that will whip me into shape. Oh the joy. Well, wish me luck and hope I don't get sunburned. Thank God for SPF 85!!

Craziness and fun

  • What's up homies? Not much here. Back from a fun and awesome weekend. Cathy and I headed to Fresno around 6am on Friday, and arrived just before 9am, after a brief stop at Savemart for some baking supplies. Then while I was snoozing on Amy's mom's bed, Cathy baked a whole lot of her backyard bug cakes and peanut butter brownies. I got up and showered in the mid afternoon since Amy's sister Niesha was expecting tons of people to show up for her bday party. Unfortunately a lot of them flaked. I think Amy was more pissed since she spent a ton of money on the party, mostly on pizza. We made the best of it though. Later on in the evening we played in a nearby park for an hour or so, and ran in the sprinklers. Did I mention it was about 100 degrees? Yeah a little hot there, in case you didn't know. Once we got back to the house we horsed around, then went for a walk to the store for cold drinks, and the younger girls kept pantsing us while walking down the street. LMAO. We also did some pole dancing on the stripper pole in Amy's room, it was awesome.
  • On Saturday we headed up to Shaver Lake, about an hour away. That place is so beautiful. I loved wading in the water, and just unwinding. Then we came back to the house and I watched Pet Semetary II with Amy's mom while the others took a nap. Later on we went to Farmerboys for dinner, and rented some movies nearby. It was a great ending to a great day.
  • Sunday I caught up on sleep, and once I was up, ready and packed then Cathy and I left. We made it back by 2pm, with a stop in Livingston to pee and pick up lunch. I'd say it was a great two days. Once I got back I caught up on housework, went for my 2 mile walk and tried to take a nap in my room. I just couldn't fall asleep. Might have been the three cats on my bed, or all the people congregating in our living room. Sometimes it sucks having roommates. Oh well, I know I'll sleep well later this morning.
  • This rest of this week will be superhectic. Working both jobs later today, and grocery shopping in the evening. Tight squeeze on time, but it's the only time I can do it. I'm also working both jobs on Tuesday, and packing that evening as well. We're leaving for Spirit West Coast on Wednesday afternoon. Least I can sleep, that's a plus. We'll be in Monterey from Wednesday evening to Sunday morning. Talk about crazy. I don't know how long my phone will last or how many pictures I'll take, but I'm sure gonna try to cover a lot of ground. Don't expect any texts/twitters from me until Sunday afternoon, mmmkay? I'm bringing a notebook as a diary so I can journal my daily happenings for a megablog on that Sunday night. Whoo I can't wait!!

fun times ahead

  • Hey hey hey! What's up folks! Yay it's the weekend! I'm excited since I'm leaving for Fresno in about 5 hours. I'm getting off from work a few hours early, grabbing a few things at home, then Cathy and I are taking off. Three fun filled and hot days chaparoning a teenage birthday party and just plain relaxing. Plus it's a change of pace, and I like that.
  • Nothing exciting going on in Lisaville. Been trying to be good foodwise. Really hard especially with a batch of fudge literally in my face for a few hours earlier tonight. My will power prevailed. I love fudge, but I know it'll spike my blood sugar and just make me even hungrier later. I have some sugarfree 40 cal chocolate fudgesicles that do the trick instead. This weekend I'll probably be bad since I'll be at a party, plus I want to try Chick-Fil-A if I can. They don't have those around here. Oh well. Least I walked a few miles earlier today.
  • And yes, next week is Spirit West Coast. I am excited about that as well. Camping for five days while watching kickass Christian bands, oh yeah! Okay now I'm going to eat a banana and keep busy for 4 more hours or so. Whoooo.

Random irritations

  • Word up homie G's. How's everyone doing? I'm doing pretty okay. The last few days haven't been too exciting. Working both jobs, getting about 5-6 hours of sleep. Monday evening I had dinner with Sandi at Mimi's Cafe. Yummy as always. Had to make some plans for our camping trip at Spirit West Coast week after next. Wooot wooot. See Sandi, I am excited. Tuesday evening I stayed home, did a little housework, made dinner and relaxed for once.
  • I've had a few annoyances the last day or so, but if you've been following my Twitter or Facebook then you'd know. First of all the other day the IT people downstairs put in a new firewall, and the security settings were way insane. Blocking Myspace because it was an adult site? I don't think so. So I complained, so did Victoria and Shannon. That helped, and they brought it down a few notches, thank God. Other nuisance has been my older sister once again calling me when she knows I'm asleep/in the shower/getting ready for work to tell me non emergency information. Yes I'm glad you talked to Fernando at Pac N Save but can't you call me after 3 when I'm settled in at work, and not when I'm trying to get a few more min of sleep before my alarm goes off? Sheesh. It's like I know she spends a lot of time with Dad, but she goes out all the time on errands, and goes places with her boyfriend. I need my time to myself when I'm working 13 hr days.
  • Anyway enough venting for now. I'm excited about my weekend though. Gonna roast my ass off in Fresno. Praise God for air conditioning.

More fun yet to come

  • Word up homies. How's everyone's weekend been? I had a great one. Friday morning I went to breakfast with Michelle at Elio's. I had a yummy omelet, fruit and toast. Later on that evening I slept in, exercised, and stayed home for the evening. Michelle wanted to go out again, but I needed some "me" time.
  • Saturday I had a nice big breakfast, worked out, then took Dad to the fair. It was 100 degrees and I was sweating like a pig. Dad didn't do so bad, and I tried to keep him hydrated. We saw all the exhibits, the animals, ate some food. I think the worst part of it was walking back to the car, I thought I was going to die from heat exhaustion. Once we got some nice cold drinks, we both felt a lot better. Later on in the evening I took another shower and got ready for a night in San Fran with some friends. Davina, Lorie, Tanya and I all hit up the Cat Club for Michael Jackson night. There were all kinds of people there, and it was so much fun. I think Davina and I had a little too much fun dancing in the cages, but oh well. We were there sweating our faces off for about 4 hours, then went to Mel's Diner for malts and fries. Yeah so healthy, but I think we deserved it.
  • Sunday I didn't sleep as much as I wanted to. I woke up and my whole body was sore from all that dancing. I did make it in to church as I promised Davina, and it was cool. Later on I came home, made lunch, went walking, and spent the afternoon napping and watching TV. A perfect ending to a nice weekend. Oh yeah, our fridge is taking a crap so a lot of our food went bad, and we should be acquiring a new one in the next day or two. It sucks.
  • I'm glad I caught up on rest, because the next few weekends are gonna be interesting. This upcoming one I'll be in Fresno visiting Amy and chaperoning a bunch of 14 year olds at a birthday party. What an experience that should be. Then the following Wednesday through Sunday I'll be in Salinas at Spirit West Coast, camping, volunteering and attending awesome Christian concerts. Although there are showers nearby, I know I'll be uber funky by the time I get home that Sunday afternoon. Oooohwheeee. Oh well it'll still be fun.

Friday, July 17, 2009

exercise!

  • What's happening folks? It's Fridaaaaay. I'm excited. This weekend should be pretty awesome. I hope so anyway. I'm taking my dad to the county fair on Saturday, then going out in San Fran on Saturday night. Sunday I hope to kick back and rest. I sure need it.
  • The last few days have been pretty normal. Working a lot. I did get to exercise today which is awesome. I'm planning on walking again this evening, and on Saturday/Sunday. Gotta get that sexy body in shape.
  • Ugh well I'm really tired. Only slept 6 hrs today, had to take Dad to the pulmonologist for a check-up. I'll catch up on sleep later this morning, I'm sure. Okay, back to helping out David with his knowledge of Slim Goodbody. Haha.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

short and boring

  • What's up folks? Just realized I almost forgot to blog. It's been a few days. Not anything going on, maybe that's why I didn't have the urge to blog. Haha. Working both jobs, trying to stay awake. I was bad and went to Coldstone earlier, got some sinless sweet cream. Fat free, but still probably too much sugar. Today is grocery day. Whoopee. Wow one of our stations just ran their EAS test right after the bottom of the hour ID and it blended in perfectly with programming. Awesome. That's how unexciting my life is. Okay I'm going to go. Feel free to comment about anything and everything.

my weekend

  • Now that I've just gone on a LONG rant about our New Kids trip, lemme tell you about my weekend. It was pretty fun. I'm probably not going on in great detail about it, simply because I'm tired. I met Kimmie in Lodi on Saturday afternoon to pick up our pictures that we had taken last month. They look very cute. I'll try to scan it in and post it when I have time. We had a great time together, going out to eat, and watching movies at her house. In fact we watched three different movies with Dan Aykroyd in them, when I think about it. Ghostbusters II, My Girl and Dragnet. Good times. Okay I'm like half awake so I'm going to pay some bills online and do other boring stuff. Toodles!

NKOTB 7/9

  • Hey people how are you? I'm doing fantastic. I had an absolutely great time at the NKOTB concert on Thursday night and a fun weekend as well. I'm going to blog about the concert, and if it gets too longwinded I'll do a separate blog for the rest of the weekend. So on Thursday morning I picked up the Wheelchair Getaways van in Milbrae, then went home to shower and get ready for my really long day. I arrived in Lodi by noon, and we left a little after 1pm. We got to Concord around 2:30, and had to wait until 3pm before they opened the gates for us. We had great VIP parking in lot A, it just took about 20 minutes to find the right lot. We almost ended up in the crew's parking area, and pretty much cut off the New Kids' bus while I was getting directions. Hahaha. Then we had to wait in line for about an hour before we could get in. I came very close to passing out at one point. It was 85 degrees, I was thirsty and had been up for almost 24 hrs straight. Luckily I kept talking to Kimmie and everyone else around me and stayed awake.
  • Once we got in we went straight to the souvenir booth. I got myself a t-shirt, which is awesome. Kimmie got stuff for various family members. Later on in the evening she bought me a Joe button, although she didn't have to. Next we got our gift bags and went in the VIP area for BBQ and beverages. We got free underwear (gave mine to Cathy), a towel, lip balm, sun lotion, and I can't remember what else. After mingling for a bit, we didn't have to wait long to see the boys. We were in the 4th group. Once we got to the picture area, we were told to wait for the rest of our group to go, since they wanted a separate pic with just us two. It was awesome. We got to chat with them for about 3 minutes and take a nice picture. I got hugs from them all, and Donnie and I had a brief conversation about Smurfette from the Smurfs, and how she used to be evil. Plus he gave me a high-five. That and Joe gave me a brief shoulder massage. It was lovely. I can't wait to get that picture back, you know I'm hanging an 8 X 10 on the wall. They are all really nice guys. Jordan always seems like he doesn't really like being there, but I've heard other reports of him being rude so it's not just us. Oh well.
  • So after all that excitement we went to the restroom then went downstairs to find our seats. Now the other two times we've sat in the first ten rows, I have to transfer Kimmie out of her chair and stow it somewhere else. This time security physically moved chairs out of the way, so she didn't have to get out of hers. At first we were in the 7th row, but then some security lady told us we had to move 3 rows back so we weren't in the way. So we did. The seats were still awesome. Kimmie had no problems seeing anything, even with everyone standing up. Security came by quite often to see if she was enjoying the show. I'd say Concord Pavillion has the best wheelchair access and nicest security. At least compared to the HP Pavillion in San Jose and Savemart Center in Fresno.
  • After the show we were one of the last vehicles out of the parking lot. We stopped for gas down the street, for coffee in Livermore, then back to Lodi. By then I was so exhausted that I felt drunk. Once I got her inside I made a McDonald's run which was interesting, because the manager there looked like a young Christian Slater. All in all, fantastic time. Probably the best NKOTB experience yet. Yay!!

summer fun

  • Hey hey hey! How y'all doin? It's the middle of the week. I'm tired but what else is new? Nothing much going on. Monday I worked both jobs, relaxed in between. Tuesday I did the same, but did the grocery shopping in between. This made me 15 min late for this job, and I took Victoria home. Usually I don't like shopping in the evening, especially with a time crunch. I decided to so that I could get some housework done later this morning, and get an ample amount of rest. Thursday I'm probably not sleeping much at all, maybe a cat nap. It's the NKOTB concert in Concord!!! Yay!! By the time Kimmie and I get back from the concert and post concert festivities, it'll be at least 1am. I'll get Kimmie in bed, then I'm poopin out for a minimum of 8 hrs.
  • I'm also starting to get excited for Spirit West Coast at the end of the month. Five freakin days of camping, a little bit of security work and lots of adventure!! Sandi and I will both have fun figuring out how to set up tents, blow up air mattresses, and not lighting ourselves on fire with the camping stove. Yay! Once my New Kids fiasco is over this week, I can start making lists and plan for camping. Whooo hooooo!!!

  • What's up folks? Another awesome weekend has passed us by. It ended way too soon. Friday afternoon I worked at Traffic, then later on that evening I went out partying in San Fran with Davina, Lorie, and Tanya. We ended up at the Cat Club on Folsom, where it was 80s/Goth night. More like Goth night with Depeche Mode/Tears For Fears in the first room. Oh well, we still had drinks and danced for a few hours. It's cool doing early 90s dance moves to New Wave stuff. Afterward we had a tasty meal at Tommys Joint on Van Ness/Geary. Turkey dinner for less than $9, at 1am. Can't beat that with a baseball bat.
  • My 4th of July was fun and laid back. Slept in, made oatmeal pancakes/scrambled eggbeaters/turkey bacon for breakfast. Went walking. Then I hung out with a special friend of mine later that evening watching movies. We really couldn't figure out what to do since a lot of places were closed and everything that was open was going to be crowded. Oh well, I had a GREAT time watching Wayne's World 2 and Adventures In Babysitting. Is it me or is that on cable every single weekend? Seems like it.
  • Sunday I slept in again, got my exercise, then took Dad to Sebastopol. We ate lunch at McDonald's. I had a side salad with no dressing and a honey mustard grilled chicken wrap. I was astounded at how much sodium was in that, sheesh. Oh well, probably the healthiest thing they had there. Then eventually we got back to Dad's house, there was tons of traffic on the way. Later that evening Davina had a karaoke thing planned with a bunch of friends, but it fell through. I was able to take a nap for a few hours before work. I'm glad I did since I had a bit of a stress headache.

happy almost independance day

  • Word up folks. How's everyone doing? I'm pretty okay if I say so myself. I'm actually caught up on sleep, which is good. Wednesday morning I went shopping/ran errands, and that took FOREVER. Wednesday night I worked, and Thursday I slept in. Got up, showered, walked a few miles, made a bombass dinner. Oh yeah, Cathy's cat JD snuck into the garage while I was bringing in my basket of clean laundry. I was like "oh well" and minded my own business. When I went out to find him ten minutes later, he was nowhere to be found. I called and called for an hour. He finally showed up on the front porch. How he got there, I don't know. When I told Cathy about it, she was pissed. Stupid cat. Oh yeah, Spencer's leg is feeling better. He's walking on it even more and being himself, so I'm not worrying about taking him to the vet. Yay.
  • Oh and earlier I met with a guy friend for coffee before work. He wants to be known as Johnny Wishbone.. ROTF. Yeah we had a fun 20 min conversation and stuff. We're hanging out on Saturday. I can't wait. (If you've seen Beverly Hills Cop II, you'll know who Johnny Wishbone is...)
  • I'm so glad the weekend is here. Later today I'm working an extra shift at Traffic, for some sweet holiday pay. I was asked to work here too but I'd only get 2 hrs of sleep, and that would suck. Later on tonight I'm going clubbin in San Fran with Davina and friends, it should be hecka fun. Saturday I'm not sure what's in store but I know we'll have fun. Yay!!
Oh wait, Amy uploaded a video from my bday party a few weeks back.

I need another nap

  • Hey folks, how you've been? I'm doing okay, just exhausted as usual. Well the usual for an early Wednesday morning anyway. Not much going on. Working a lot, trying to get sleep. Spencer has a sore hind foot. I think he fell down from the table or something and hurt it. It seems to be only a minor sprain. He's still active, loves to eat, walks around the house and doesn't seem lethargic at all. If it were broken he wouldn't be moving, period. If it's still persisting in a week or so, I'll take him to the vet. No use in paying out the wazoo for someone to tell me he has a sprain.
  • So yeah that's about it. I'm hecka sleepy so I'll probably power snooze in a bit. Oy. I need a nap.

RIP Michael Jackson

  • Wow.. haven't been this emotional during a blog in a long time. The king of pop, Michael Jackson has passed away at the age of 50. We lost both him and Farrah Fawcett on the same day. She's also a big shock and I will miss her as well. But Michael is well Michael Jackson. My first thought when I heard he died was "He can't die, he's Michael Jackson!" No one is immortal, except Jesus. That's a different convo for a different blog.
  • My first experiences of listening to MJ were as a small child, rockin out to Beat It at our next door neighbor's house. Dancing on their dining room table, using a broom to do the Van Halen solo. We idolized him as kids. Michelle had the Thriller era Peechee folder with him in the yellow sweater. I have a t-shirt with the same picture on it in my closet. I found an audio tape a few years ago of my dad's, that he made when we were kids. Michelle was saying her prayers and at the very end she's like "And Michael Jackson, we love you too!"
  • I remember trying to learn his dance moves from Smooth Criminal. I also remember our neighbor Leslie taping a Michael Jackson special off MTV in the early 90s with all his videos. We watched that over and over, often when I was babysitting her kids. Can't tell you how many hundred times I've seen the Smooth Criminal and Black Or White videos.
  • Michael did a lot of good for people everywhere. He wrote "We Are The World" back in like 1985 and was one of the lead vocalists. All he wanted to do was love everyone. He was one of the most dynamic performers this world has ever seen, even as a ten year old kid he had "it". That talent, that drive for entertainment, those dance moves. The world has lost one hell of a performing artist, he will be sorely missed. His music will live on forever. Who doesn't love Michael Jackson's music? C'mon now.
